Correct, if it's rough seas especially. In this case it is wise not to do so as it's not the best idea to anchor out at sea in rough conditions with no battery power. If it's calm at sea, the release feature is great! Just take load off the winch and away you go. Luckily you shouldn't ever have to use this feature.
Not the best idea to anchor in rough conditions with no battery power? So it’s better to have no anchor at all? This is nuts. Regretting getting one of these, may as well go back to a manual anchor and an electric motor with spot lock. At least then if the worst should happen and I lose power then at least I can anchor until help arrives.
Nice to know, although not sure how easy to do at sea.

I bet that shaft key doesn't pull out so easy when you have a load on the winch. Cmon, show real life circumstances.
