Along with all the other fabrication I needed to do to this car. This video I am working on the exhaust system for the real wheel drive v8 honda prelude. The original H22 4 cylinder engine is gone and we are now using a V8 Chevy small block 350. I try bending my own exhaust pipe!

Sounds to me like you’re gaining a “Let’s finish these cars” mindset 😉 great job man.
How much easier will this stuff be when You, Chris and I have a 3 bay shop… 👀

Great video. Personally I would have gone with the pie cut weld idea for the extra welding experience, but it looks like it turned out pretty decent with the bender. Not to mention less expensive. Can't wait to see this beast finished.

My buddies dad had a V8 rear drive stick shift Ford Probe back in the late 90's early 2000's he built it himself and drag raced it at Toronto Motorsports Park aka Cayuga Dragway, the car ran mid 10's in the 1/4 it was a built boss 302 engine duel 4 bbl's full synchro 4 speed, Ford 9 inch with 4:88 posi, 200 shot of spray, fully gutted and caged, car was wild, unfortunately he passed away in 2004 and the wife sold it for next to nothing.

This project is so great! but you are right you over thinking it, when I did the exhaust on my truck I used a universal mandreal bent exhaust kit,no need for a pipe bender. And you gained a new sub!

I would try to put the trans mount above the transmission and braced inside the floor pan ribs for integrity. Keeping all the road clearance you barely have as it sits

You can straight pipe thru the cross member to get the clearance. Use the cross member just extended both pipe or u out the cross member.

I think you are supposed to fill the pipe with sand to complete the bends using the bender you have. That way it helps to maintain circularity.

weld pieces of pipe into the trans mount big enough to fit your exhaust through like they did on camaros

I'm curious if you are going to need to beef up the braking system. Don't want a caliper to explode on ya with all the extra hp.

Cut your mount and put in two pieces of pipe bigger then your exhaust pipe and then you'll be able to run your exhaust through it

I never understand why guys who do this don't use a Ford engine. That way the distributor is in the front? you know? I know Fords are gay but you look like a pretty confident guy, I think you could pull it off.
