People can have different ideas for what dside versions of characters will look like. Dside ourple guy mods are a good example of that. People dont have to stay true to the og dside. They just need to be creative and put their own spin on dside designs. Thats personally why I like dside mods so much. People can be creative with the designs for their mod.

Honestly, I gotta say, I feel L is Real is probably the one character who doesn’t deserve the “take the character, and just give them their normal D-Sides design” design convention the most. He would work perfectly with being swapped for Waluigi, thanks to stuff like Purple Prizes or the Arceus2401 rumours.
Or even better, if they gonna take that in mind, they should probably make also Wario's apparition and the classified castle levels as an Super Mario 64 DS-themed

You… completely missed the point of D-Sides. It’s not taking an IP and replacing it with another IP, it’s taking that IP and altering it so it’s still recognisable, but far more different. Swaps are always of characters from the same franchise, not from other franchises.
