I know exactly what you mean, CK.. I like almost all the clans and as a result constantly go back and forth between them. The most expensive one you mentioned making would probably be Kagero with an Overlord focus, but most of your interests are around the same level, competitive-wise.
I wouldn't exactly compare it to mega pack since the mega packs contain mostly reprints. The fighters collection 2015 contains stride units for all clans. Similar to how FC 2014 contained mostly all limit break units for each clan
Check the wiki for this collection. It'll show you every card in this collection. Find a clan or two that fit your play style and run with them. I have two decks atm: Blue Storm Aqua Force and Musketeer Neo Nectar. Also working on a music themed Bermuda Triangle deck.
Kagero has all the options in the world. Overlord is expensive, but that's pretty much the only build that will cost an arm, same with Shaladins. The only expensive thing about Gear Chronicle is Ragnaclock and maybe the g perfects.
Kagero is still meta. From G-BT01: Generation Stride we got introduced to Dragonic Overlord "The X (Cross)" which legions with The End and the deck got a lot stronger with The Ace being a restanding G Unit.
When I was first introduced to this game last fall it was a bit overwhelming since prior to that my only game was yugioh so the mechanics were odd. My friend described each clan to me and I loved the quirky idea to have this huge stack of cards in the middle of my board for no reason so I leaned toward Dark Irregulars and it was my first deck. Albeit it was proxied because money and college student don't go together. But after I learned the game a bit I found my current deck that I do love which has a similar gimmick of a huge soul and that is Genesis (Regalia if being specific). But with all the new support coming I want to go back to my first clan back to Dark Irregulars. Cyberknight I think that with the game going the way it is, now is a good time to go back to roots if you started with Kagero I say build Kagero. Don't abandon Gold Paladins but maybe after the G-units (assuming they are cheap) put them on the back burner and look back into Kagero.
I have managed to main Bermuda Triangle for years and I don't see dropping them anytime soon now that they are getting some strides with this and they next clan booster.
Fighter made Kagero pretty strong due to the ace plus the legion of overlord just makes the deck strong. The strongest deck in this meta would be aqf g, sanctuary guard royal paladin is strong, revenger/g shadow and kagero.
also if you want gold paladins there 2nd card in the set is GR. also if anyone else has bought fighters collection 2015 boxes can you tell me if you got a box that has the ace in it is there also an epoch maker in it as well i just want to see if this is a trend

The end is still a very good deck if you use the X but is not cheap in any way
