- If you haven't figured it out already I am a HUGE fan of Billy Joel. I recently bought his Complete Albums Collection box set and I noticed there was only one unboxing of it on RUclips, so I made my own!
This box set comes with all 13 of his studio albums, his live album "Songs in the Attic", and another CD with 17 singles on it. It also comes with a book of lyrics to every song in the set, and a book containing a Q&A with Billy himself. All the albums are mini versions of what the original vinyls look like which is really cool!
This is a pretty expensive set, but I bought it as a graduation gift for myself as I just graduated high school. I got it from a third party seller on Amazon for $215.00. Amazon was the cheapest place I could get it.
Overall I love this box set. The details they put into it are awesome and it's really well-made. The CDs sound great too! It is expensive but it's worth it. I recommend it to any big Billy Joel fan like me!

Soooo COOL!!! I love how the spine of the sleeves resemble the spines of the vinyl. I need this is in my life but it's sooooo expensive. 😭

This should have been re-issued for Billy's 50th anniversary of Cold Spring Spring Harbor last year. The original set is very expensive.

His VINYL BOX SET comes available NOVEMBER 5th!! First 9 LP's also with a LIVE recording I believe from San Fransisco. Hope the remastering is done from the original analog tapes, and not the digital tapes.

In researching further, I've just read that Jensen and Sterling Sound put together this CD box set, so Sony must be just putting out the vinyl sourced from this set.
The for Cold Spring Harbor album, is it the remastered? When Cold Spring Harbor first came out, the pitch was off.
The original 1971 LP was accidentally recorded with the sound sped up, you're right. But in 1983 the album was released on cd , but it was re-edited/remixed/remastered, but it isn't the true 1971 album. I have this set as well and it's extraordinary. Hope the VINYL COLLECTION VOLUME 1 is done correctly. Hope it gets remastered from the analog tapes. Been seeing ads about this collection and Sterling Sound Ted Jensen is mentioned as the man in charge, but when I wrote Sterling Sound was given info that they are NOT INVOLVED!?? So something is amiss here.
Interesting, those diecs were repurposed from the 2004 Japanese mini-LP CDs (minus Fantasies and Delusions and Collected Additional Masters).

Is this set now out of print as I can't find it anywhere to buy?
It was a limited edition set so if you're not finding it anywhere then they might not sell it anymore. I've seen some for sale used on Discogs before.
I've seen it on Discogs too but it's in the 600-dollar range because it's so rare. I really want this too but that's just way too expensive.

so I've had this box set forever and just now started to listen to the CDs - is your 'Songs in the Attic' CD really 'The Nylon Curtain'? because mine is! :(
crisis slightly averted, my Nylon Curtain is actually Songs in the Attic - the discs are just labeled wrong
@@ChrisGerstle That's so weird! You would think with a nice box set like this they would make sure something like that wouldn't happen. At least you have both albums but that's so strange.
