Let’s not forget to add to the list of failures the IOC doesn’t want us to remember, the poisoning of several athletes because they didn’t want to admit the Seine was full of sewage and not fit to be used for swimming.
Well anything like that is getting deleted by the IOC. After that opening ceremony I had a bad feeling about this Olympics. And I won't be surprised if every single one from now on just gets worse and worse.
In the aftermath of the whole Raygun situation. I just feel really bad for the actually good Australian atheletes who could breakdance. Who have done it for years and have professional moves and status, who have worked their butts off, at nationals, regionals and every other competition in the art of breakdancing. To finally get their chance at the Olympic Games to compete for Australia, and then Raygun gets picked above them. Shattering their dreams and hopes of representing this wonderful country. Those are the people i feel really bad for. Shame on Raygun for making our country look terrible by comparison.
The fact that people are now bringing their dogs to malls, sports stadiums, etc, I am fairly certain that within the next 20 years people will be competing in the Olympics with their dogs. Mark my words. Idiocracy is becoming reality.

The doggos hyping you up while you were dancing totally elevated the dance. Like that guy in the background screaming "oooooohhhh what now? What now? Can compete with the floor wibble wobbles, can you! " Lol
I don't see how the IOC is embarrassed. The opening ceremonial depiction of the last supper and the smurf looking dude, set the standard for this particular participation Olympic games🤭.
@@petethehawk5186 The difference is that the person that she was selected over to represent Australia is actually a good break dancer. Would it have saved the "sport" from being a laughing stock of the rest of the Olympic watchers? Maybe, maybe not. At least Jamaica showing up and bombing hard at bobsledding was favorable, because they had to pioneer the entire sport in Jamaica just to be able to do a run without crashing. Raygun's performance was so bad that it made the entire first addition of break dancing as a sport get mocked by everyone across the world. If she wasn't so bad, the average person wouldn't even know about the sport's inclusion in order to form an opinion either way.

Raygun needs to write two books. Book one needs to be titled "How to become a victim by scamming the world". The second book needs to be titled "How to plan and execute a becoming a millionaire strategy: A Manufactured Victim's Story". This entire situation was premeditated with it's only goal to make money. A lot of money. The measured response to anything directed her way and the speed at which it gets executed demonstrates that fact.
Perhaps Sydney can give her a few pointers. Her long series of share house anecdotes while she lived in the US were clearly manufactured. _Nobody_ has that many nasty roomies, not even from years of share houses. And Sydney had a multitude of them in a handful of weeks? Nope.
Or are afraid of advertisers pulling out. The IOC had shoen multiple times, how money hungry they are. (Giving Esports Olympics to Saudis, selling their license for NFT games, etc.)
Yeah, like just make a normal event and the money will be flowing and people will be proud and happy 😂😂. Did they hire people from Disney or something 😂
By doing this the IOC only make things worse and go more viral for a much longer time. The embarrassment just lingers forever and becomes n ever greater joke. The Streisand effect have been around a long time and the fact that the IOC muppets do not get it proves just how contemptible and stupid they are.
100% in agreement with you, but your comment almost made my brain break.😅 I corrected it for you if you want to copy it and paste it into your edited one. As a child of the 80s, I can tell you one thing. That is not break dancing, that's more like an epileptic seizure. (Not to an English teacher's standards but better)
An athlete sooo bad that she got her sport removed from the Olympic Games after it's first appearance, that's bad....I was impressed by your "Break Dance" performance, way more entertaining than that other chick, totally sold it Sydney!🤩😜🤯
The IOC is a paying advertiser for RUclips so I'm not surprised. Viewers and content creators are not RUclips's customers, we're their product. Advertisers are YT's customers.
Well, when it comes to the Paris Olympics, I've heard about 3 things: a female Algerian boxer, a male Turkish sharpshooter and a female Australian breakdancer. Only one of these was positive and only one of these isn't actively censored. The IOC is abusing the copyright system because they're embarrassed and that's just pathetic.
They’re not just banning videos, they’ve also been working overtime on news platforms to ensure that any negative comments are removed for “not meeting standards.” MSN censors have definitely been working overtime. That Raygun woman sucks and no amount of censorship can ever change that.
IOC is absolutely a corrupt institution. Chadi, a RUclipsr who covers the Martial Art of Judo, recently inquired to the IOC asking if he could review Judo footage from old Olympics to study technique... they responded, "sure. it'll cost $2000 per minute."
IOC is a private company, only interested in making lots of money. Part of their marketing scam is portraying themselves as some global organization promoting good will among nations and all humans.
Every time that a certain crowd gets caught pushing THE MESSAGE too far and it backfires their reaction is always to scorch the earth and scatter into hiding like bugs instead of showing a centimeter of spine. They don't go away, mind. They just go into hiding until the heat cools down. That's what's happening here. Also the breakdancing puppies are legendary!
@tonynewman3631 YT isn't clueless they know what fair use happens to be. The problem is the automatic system that allows me to flag a video as copyrighted they don't normally review it, especially if being used in what they would call a "hate video" and some people's account just-auto flagged as "hate speech" the people working at YT don't like them.
I've heard about this debacle but never saw the actual "performance" but my conclusion is that the audience, all viewers at home as well as the judges hated all of it but two dogs were somewhat entertained. No?
It's hilarious that she was completely OK with making an absolute fool of herself for a free trip to Paris but, gets butthurt when people rightfully make fun of her.
There are people on this earth who, by lack of any talent, only achieve things by bullying and terrorising. This 'break dancer' seems a perfect example.

I thought she was doing this badly on purpose to make our country look bad, but now i'm convinced she has no idea how to breakdance and thinks she's good.
She said she couldn't compete with the younger girls on athleticism so she tried to make up for it on originality. The Kangaroo and T Rex were her original moves!
Yeah I wondered about that. . . I'm American and I know there are some Americans who hate this country, so I wondered if she was an oikophobic Aussie who was purposely trying to make Australia look bad. But after seeing some excerpts from her PhD thesis on "cultural movement" I agree with you, she simply has no clue what breakdancing is, she actually thinks she's good.
@@MikinessAnalog I think she has a PhD in breakdancing. Im not kidding. She clearly thought, "Yep subjecting breakdancing culture to scholarly study is really cool" smh
Your video on the subject was probably one of the most neutral/middle of the road takes I had seen on the matter. Yet they still had to shoot it down... by the rules of the internet, it will only get worse the more they do it.
The now blocked video was great and this one is your best videos ever, I have laughed so hard although it is so sad. I was watching the performance with friends during the Olympics and after a few seconds of shock, immediately the joke "fish out of the water dance" came up everywhere. The whole world is having your back on this one Sydney, don't worry about the IOC mafia.
The flaw is in the sports that are judged. It was obvious when they interviewed the world-wide soccer mom group after her performance. "I think she was brave for trying." "She did the best she could." "It was original even if it was different." None of that participation award crap matters when you are in the Olympics trying to be faster, stronger or higher than anyone else. Doing your best stays home. You are supposed to be doing 'THE best'.
Figure skating, gymnastics, diving, boxing (sometimes), etc...besides, Gunn competed in three breaks, each consisting of two rounds, and didn't receive a single round win by any judge. I don't think having events that are decided by judges is an inherent problem; you'd have a much better point had she actually won...or even received a single round vote.
They should have awarded her a participation trophy, she's young enough to have collected a lot of those. Anyone with a PhD in gender studies in break dancing would have an entire room full of participation trophies.
"How dare you make public your legitimate criticism!" There is a kind of person who believes they can do no wrong, even though they have less than nothing to contribute. They are inevitably the same kind of person who would rather censor criticism than learn from it - terrifyingly, when we don't laugh at such people their dishonest belligerence leads them to positions of power.
@@sharonefee1426 I don't think I agree. Criticism mean to "point out flaws" not the same as "accusing aimlessly". The people who avoiding criticism usually unable to see others flaws therefore unable to actual critics anyone. However, they are especially good at accusing others people.
The moment i found out the ballroom people were in charge of the breakdancing "qualifications", I knew they'd try and cover this up. The Olympics is meant to be for the best of the best, and Australia's "best" didn't even get to go to the olympics because some lady's husband was in charge of deciding who went. "Cool".
I knew something was up because I thought "there's NO WAY she's one of the best or they couldn't find better!" Side note, really upset France didn't get Les Twins to compete
We have dancers busking on the streets of Sydney that could have been asked but apparently there is a ‘process’ which most of the actual break dancers probs didn’t even know about
NO. That makes less sense. Any professional dancer would know immediately that this was not a professional level dancer. I have no idea why they chose her, but there is something very impossible about it.
This has been debunked. In the future verify information using the same device you spread misinformation with… it takes no effort and you dont even have to put on pants… you can even call your local library’s information desk and have them research things for you if it’s to much effort to type. This research took five seconds to verify… per business inside article: Rumors that Raygun's husband judged her Olympic qualifier are false. Here's how the viral Australian breakdancer actually got to Paris. The Paris Olympics presented breaking in partnership with the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF), adding it to the games after its debut at the Summer Youth Olympic Games in 2018, according to the official Olympics website. The WDSF announced the qualifying system in April 2022. There were 32 spots - 16 B-Girls and 16 B-Boys - available in the games, and three different ways to qualify. Breakers could qualify at the WDSF World Championships held in Belgium in September 2023. There were two spots available - one man and one woman. Breakers could also qualify through a continental qualifying event, each of which had two spots available for a man and a woman. The remaining 20 spots were up for grabs at Olympic qualifier series events in Shanghai and Budapest in May and June 2024.
The part you're missing, Syd, is that the IOC is actually a huge multinational corporation, only "non-profit" in the same way as american hospitals and universities. It pulls in tons of cash from every facet of its existence; licensing, endorsements, network coverage, film rights, etc... are all cash cows for it. In this case the IOC is doing exactly as any other multinational would - squelching bad press. Given how expensive and ruinous it is for a city to hold the olympics, we need to get rid of this traveling circus. Hold it in the same place every year (greece?) with open financials and a committee composed of retired lawyers and accountants.
You forgot the IOC is also a bunch of misogynists who patronize women's sports. The IOC should pay for all or half of the Olympics and donate money to all the countries' Olympic teams.

In the aftermath of the whole Raygun situation. I just feel really bad for the actually good Australian atheletes who could breakdance. Who have done it for years and have professional moves and status, who have worked their butts off, at nationals, regionals and every other competition in the art of breakdancing. Those are the people i feel really bad for. Shame on Raygun for making our country look terrible by comparison.

It would have been better for Australia to just not compete in the event altogether than send her.
If the result is determined by a judge, it is not a sport
Figure skating, gymnastics, diving, boxing (sometimes), etc...besides, Gunn competed in three breaks, each consisting of two rounds, and didn't receive a single round win by any judge. I don't think having events that are decided by judges is an inherent problem; you'd have a much better point had she actually won...or even received a single round vote.
They should have awarded her a participation trophy, she's young enough to have collected a lot of those. Anyone with a PhD in gender studies in break dancing would have an entire room full of participation trophies.
"How dare you make public your legitimate criticism!"
There is a kind of person who believes they can do no wrong, even though they have less than nothing to contribute. The Olympics is meant to be for the best of the best, and Australia's "best" didn't even get to go to the olympics because some lady's husband was in charge of deciding who went. "Cool".
Who else doesn’t want to support the olympics when this is how they are moving?

Side note, really upset France didn't get Les Twins to compete
We have dancers busking on the streets of Sydney that could have been asked but apparently there is a ‘process’ which most of the actual break dancers probs didn’t even know about

Rumors that Raygun's husband judged her Olympic qualifier are false.
In doing so, they are actually generating way more interest. It's called the Barbara Streisand effect.
Sounds too much like common sense, so will never happen
