Yes, you can definitely use GCP for web development for other clients as well as resell. You can create multiple Projects and designate that for specific clients. Or you can install CPanel and create different websites there.
Sundenly after change the IP Address from ephemeral to static I got an error and I couldn't open wordpress. The reason is that you have to set the new IP address in the WP configuration and update those values via SSH in the GCP console. SELECT * FROM wp_options WHERE option_name IN('siteurl','home'); I don't have a domain name yet so I'm using the static IP address to access my site.

Go to Google Cloud Console > Deployment Manager. Select your Wordpress project. It should tell you the right email that you put as the admin. If that's wrong, you'll need to login to phpadmin and modify it from there.

I just got this set up and am having the same issue as you. I have tried multiple emails and nothing gets sent out. Everything else is working. I will let you know if I find a solution.
Although it's a crappy workaround, I think it got fixed by using the change admin email plugin. The email is changed in general settings but it still doesn't show up in the user profile. I still think it at least changed the email though. I can't believe it's 2024 and this is an issue.
you'll need to export your wordpress by going to your site, login, the go to Tools > Export. Then once you've configured your Google cloud wordpress, you need to go to Tools > Import

I suggest people DO NOT change their user and password until they make sure they are getting emails from WordPress. In my case it was not a big deal because I was just experimenting, but for others this can be a huge bummer
the installation failed, it says "Constraint constraints/compute.requireShieldedVm violated for project..." Secure Boot is not enabled in the 'shielded_instance_config' field.

If I'm using Google Click version of Wordpress on Google Cloud, I shouldn't go with Bitnami for my SSL certificates, right?
Bitnami uses Letsencrypt, so install Letsencrypt instead

Sorry, i have not used WPEngine's service. In my experience, Google Cloud has been reliable.

How do you migrate an existing site
you'll need to export your wordpress by going to your site, login, the go to Tools > Export. Then once you've configured your Google cloud wordpress, you need to go to Tools > Import
