The Steven Wilson band lineup with Theo Travis, Guthrie Govan, Adam Holzman, Nick Beggs & Marco Minnemann is the finest group of musicians he's ever assembled since Porcupine Tree.
Such an honor to have you all in our studios. Great music, even greater people. We cannot wait to hear the finished product!
...and the finished product was then a SMASH in every single meaning! What a record!!!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I discovered Stevens music today 14/07/19. Already I know things will never be the same again.
This video's been out for nearly a decade and even so I'll occasionally get back to it just to listen to 4:02. Those drums, man. They're just my JAM
2:57 'You're much louder than me! It's not fair!'. Steven WIlson, one of the only people able to say that to Guthrie hahaha
One of the greatest albums of all time was recorded in that studio. This album.
"He got the drum part back in 30 minutes because he said he was going out tonight!" lmao
That’s Marco!!!! The best!
The Steven Wilson Band... Now featuring 2/3 of The Aristocrats. Too cool.
What an incredible array of talent in this band...
0:55 Guthrie detects a broken string and immediately treats his nut with the unfortunately named Nut Sauce - 2012, colourized
I love how deep and dirty Nick’s bass tone is in this song.
I was fortunate enough to experience "Luminol" when they played here in Chile. Suffice to say, it was a beast of a song and I can't wait to hear its studio recording!!
Please release a full length documentary of this session!
Guthrie Govan everybody.. my god.. I don't even know what to say.. practically ALL of my favorite musicians in one room. I can't explain how happy I am.
Guthrie is so humble and yet such a monster player.. He's just great!! I'd travel anywhere in the world to see him play!!
I reckon Holzman is a secret weapon - he doesn't get enough kudos IMO.
What an amazing group of musicians. It must have been so much fun to play in that band.
I loved the jazz(sax+piano)1:07 and drums 2:02. AWESOME session!!!!
+catwomanFL72 that's from the holy drinker : )
+Tomé Silva holy drinker? oh my
catwomanFL72 What?
What a band! I cannot wait for this release. You know an album's gonna be good when the musicians are having so much fun playing together.
well, if alan parsons is in the room nothing can go wrong!
Marco is a madman! So incredibly good! (and all of them, really)
You're much louder than me! It's not fair...hahahahaha
and for good reason!
GUTHRIE: HHHHHMMM
The bass tone is amazing!
Mind. Blown.
OMG I got goosebumps when I saw Guthrie...
This line-up must put a ton of expectations for the new record already, I guess
I have always loved and will continue to love and follow all that SW does, but sometimes I feel that Raven will remain unsurpassed.
0:55 Enter the Greatest Guitarist in the World... The very sight of that man stringing his guitar up in the studio has the same effect on my stomach as seeing Mike Tyson putting his wraps on in the changing rooms before the proffessional Death & mental abyss of a big badass heavyweight monster... In short, Guthrie Govan's new album should be introduced, advertised & promoted by Michael Buffer...
2:23 Marco's injured little toe.
Oof
they are master'ed, we say it in this days! thanks to this people and good luck!
That looks like a ton of fun. Alan Parsons walking around. That alleviates most of the recording issues. I think that drum set had about 42 mics on it. This is a great new album. Well done.
This is so epic. Guthrie Govan is even there!
Saw them live last night. Eargasm happened, for sure.
And to have Alan Parson as producer. Wow!
I, for one, wish they were all still friends. That particular group of individuals together created magic, not just music.
very nice!!! like this footage a lot!!!
This record man... Sooo freakin great! Love it Steven! Keep em' coming!
.Birth of a classic
Oh Lord I Love Steven, He is a musical god!
This video is not long enough but at the same time just the right length
can we all just agree that marco is very probably the best drummer in the world today?
Impresionante! Saludos desde Argentina!!!
dude that is some sick ass drumming, can't wait for my preordered cd!
I cant stop watching this
Nice to see SW smile in spite of all those depressed lyrics:P Can't wait to hear this music!!
Adam Holzman Piano, Keys...( Miles Davis, Mona Lisa Overdrive) Wow! What a beast!
Que maestros!! Simplemente unos genios!
Had to opportunity to see you in NZ when you were here last year, but as filthy as Nick Beggs sounded on the night, that bass as even dirtier in this...legend
Steven Wilson with shoes on!!!!!
Thank you for making these videos! Love being able to see how the pro's do it in the studio! Awesome music!
\everything about this is incredible. I wait in dire anticipation
This album has everything I love about prog. Thanks, Steven :)
Haha he’d be kind of pissed to read that his music is being called “prog” now.
Waiting...patiently...for...this...album...
That was really great insight, a fun watch. Hope to see a lot more, Lasse!
That sax sounds so smooth.
I love how they're all so chilled out with each other..like they're used to the greatness! XD when nick plays that riff, guthrie's solo, theo and adam together, marco raping that kit, and steven..they're all just like "ok, that's nice." :D
can`t wait for his next masterpiece......
govan and minnemann with wilson...OMG perfect
This sounds so god damn amazing.
More days, more videos PLEASE!
i believe so, can't wait for my copy to show up
This is going to be incredible.
Marcus is a phenomenon. This whole band is just incredible.
Oh man! Why it ended, I was enjoying...
Marco at 4:20 is just fucking awesome.
Of course, it's 420 😉
Nice
5:00 Steven Wilson smiling? Shit, I must listen to this album!
Wilson es mi inspiración uno de los mas grandes músicos que he escuchado con un estilo muy original en su voz y composición y un gran enfoque en sus proyectos saludos
Alan Parsons?
This is so awesome... Steven Wilson is being fan-dedicated :D
ALAN PARSONS IS A FUCKING GENIUS
Me. I cannot believe I get to see them all at the same time.
Have to wait until September though. ;_________; SW,MM,GG
Interesting that you can hear wee bits of The Birthday Party being played in the background. Love that song
Yup, coming out early next year
Rimarrà nella storia!!!!
The best formation ever for myself!!!
That Spector jazz bass tone is fucking amazing
Cuanto talento y virtuosismo junto!!!!
This is gonna be well good
Marco Minnemann = Paul Gilbert on drum
Funny you say that ruclips.net/video/nPGA3vjMLgE/видео.html :D
Nailed it
everyone is gonna have an eargasm!!!!
The "In the Court of the Crimson King" of this century has started to be create.
Very exciting. "Luminol" sounds like some lost Yes song from the midst of their peak creativity. I wouldn't be surprised if Wakeman showed up for a few days.
They have Lasse, so that's even better ;)
Is there room for just one more band project if his. or.. are SW hands finally full NOW?
I am still digesting his 2nd Solo work >GFD many Blackfield tracks not to mention PT tracks last but never least his instrumental ambient recordings]
Is Marco Minnemann still working with Eddie Jobson?
I miss ALL of the best live shows
:~
A Lowcut on the Master-Audiotrack would have been nice... my Subwoofer is going crazy on some parts of the Video ^^
THAT FUCKING DRUMMER DUDE
It's from "The Holy Drinker".
Shiiii!!! Geniuses working.
wait.. what?! minnemann, govan and beggs.... together? AND holzman? in one band?! how haven't i heard of this before? this is a fuckin DREAMTEAM!!! man, i gotta check this record out, NOW!!
great stuff
Theo Travis, a rather overlooked musician.
GAHH!! I want this now!!! That jazz noodling sounded awesome!!!
Guthrie, Marco and Wilson ..
someone is going to have an Eargasm.
Lol, I was just about to write this! Yes, indeed there's great music out there. We just need to switch off the radio and use the internet for something good, like searching for it. :-)
You're sick Marco!
Nick !!!
Great!
Those guys were a supergroup. Not many of those around anymore.
Guthrie + Steven...holy hell!
Marco Guthrie Steven....!!! is this some kind Olympian shit or something.....freaking crazy....gotta love em
