SM Entertainment encourage their Artists to do solo projects Movies, Dramas Brand Ambassadors, game shows, TV shows and more, as well as participate in other groups within their company. All of EXO members have solo projects as well as Sub Units. EXO is currently not presenting as a group but they will always be the 9 member Band, EXO forever. 4 members are serving in the military. 2 just returned as 2 more will eventually have to serve. It is mandatory that All Korean men must serve in the military before age 30 years for 2 years. 1 member Lay ( you've got to check out ' Honey' & 'Lit' 2 of his projects) is the only Chinese member he is currently in China he has not presented with EXO since 2017 as there's tension between countries Korea and China. But he is the biggest artist in China and he is and always will be a member of EXO.
EXO is on hiatus at the moment as they are now slowly enlisting in the military. So for the duration, remaining members and those who have just returned from the military will do solo projects such as solo albums, variety shows, acting, modelling, hosting, etc. 2 members (D.O. and Xiumin) have just returned, 4 members (Chen, Suho, Chanyeol and Baekhyun) are enlisting right now, so 2 youngest (Kai and Sehun) members yet to enlist. 1 other member, Lay, the only Chinese member will continue to do solo projects in China. 4 members (Chen, Kai, Suho and Baekhyun) have solo albums. In kpop, you don't have to leave the group to produce a solo album.
Yes, but Exo will be having a comeback soon, fans think sometime in June. They filmed the mv and recorded with Baekhyun and Chanyeol before they enlisted (only Suho and Chen will not be involved as they enlisted last year). So when that finally drops I hope this channel will react!
