He also wanted to make a one for his 2nd album, Peaches, but unfortunately he was too busy at that time; plus I imagine it would have been difficult to make such a complex film in 2021 (that requires multiple sets & extras/dancers) so soon after the whole pandemic/lockdown situation. However, he *did* release a video called "KAI 카이 'Peaches' Prologue Film" instead to represent that 2nd album. Since he was unable to make a video to showcase each song off of the "Peaches" album, he made a short clip to highlight & visualize one song, namely "Vanilla". I highly recommend you all to check that out please. It's short but worth watching and actually showed up during your search. So, to sum up, KAI released FILM:KAI for his 1st mini-album (2020), a Vanilla Prologue for the 2nd one (2021) & FILM:KAI #Rover for the 3rd mini-album (2023). Also, your assumption of SM putting a lot of budget into KAI is very wrong. SM often seems to do the bare minimum when it comes to their artists unfortunately from what I hear. *KAI* is the one who increased the budget for his albums. KAI was a huge influence on how his MVs and FILMs came out; he provided his own ideas & artistic influence about how he wanted every aspect to be - including the story-telling, sets, his dancers, fashion/clothing & even the editing. He even had the Peaches MV edited multiple times (I don't recall the exact number now, but it was over 10 times). You will also notice a lot of Gucci clothing/items in KAI's things as he is their global brand ambassador. KAI is a perfectionist who cares about every single aspect of the art he creates. He had a specific vision for his solo debut (& subsequent albums) and got the people around him to help bring it to life, even if he had to finance it himself. The last thing I'll mention is this: KAI hand-picked all his dancers before his solo debut. He and their EXO choreographer friend held auditions for his back-up dancers in all his MVs & stage/concert performances. You could also say it's similar to NCT's track videos that they have been releasing with their albums more recently. There is also a fan theory that the reason why we see Kai with so many different looks and styles in these scenes is because it's not always Kai that we are seeing. As you may remember, another part of EXO's storyline is that some of the members have evil alter ego clones that have been created by the Red Force, which were introduced in EXO's "Obsession" MV. So, some theories think that sometimes we are seeing Kai's evil X-EXO clone and other times we are seeing superhero, good EXO Kai. Also notice how the lights during "Ride or Die" made EXO's Hexagon symbol. As you discovered, Kai's "Film: Kai Rover," is just like his other film videos, which gives you a sample of all the songs on his Rover album, and they are all highly cinematic like this. The only song that has an MV is "Rover," the other 5 songs in this "Film: Kai Rover" video are B-side songs, so they don't have MVs. Kai had a hand in producing this whole album and his "Film: Kai Rover" storyline is supposed to depict his life journey and all that he has gone through to become the idol and performer that he is today. Everything he does is very deep and philosophical and has a lot of different layers, which can be interpreted in many ways depending on how deeply you want to explore the concepts in the video. I love these films. The three albums are so good. I can't pick a favorite because the songs are all amazing. I also loved the Peaches MV. Loved the traditional play motif used for the sets and costumes was beautiful as was his voice. Kai actually performed several of the songs from the first and second albums at the Hallyu Pop Fest in Sydney and London 2022. He usually does a set of 6 songs. Thanks for reacting to these films.
Peaches was his 2nd mini album and because he didn't have enough time he only did a small snippet of one track(Vanilla) of it called KAI PEACHES: THE PROLOGUE. when you guys were scrolling looking for the 2nd one the video was shown on the list at the bottom at 8:50 .
KAI did several concerts and was planning to do his latest series of concerts with Rover album but was called to mandatory service. Looking forward to 2025 when he finishes mandatory service. KAI is an artist
Kai used every bit of his own connections to get things ready for his debut. The film, photoshoots, etc. the photographers, directors. Those were from fashion industry and people he got close to over the years.
It wasn’t SM that spent money on these but Kai, Same with Lay's stuff when he was still in SM, they just profited of him while it was him who inverted money on his mvs and content

You guys should definitely check out the full dance practice for Reason and Peaches and his other solo work. He has a dance practice for all the choreo on the Rover Film peices. It's truly amazing. Film: Kai consists of teasers for each song in one (mini) album. Unfortunately, Film: Kai for the second album (Peaches) is not available, due to tight production time. From his three albums, not only as a great dancer, but the quality of Kai's voice is also very visible and developed, especially with the choice of songs that really match with his vocal range. The first Film: Kai is really artistic (art needs Kai 😅), even though Peaches doesn't have it, but the MV is really beautiful with a comfortable color selection. Peaches's dance practice is also very sophisticated. Thanks me later, it's not a loss to buy or at least listen to Kai's entire albums. 16:37: And hell no 🙄 SM didnt do anything about Film: Kai. As you discovered, Kai's "Film: Kai Rover," is just like his other film videos, which gives you a sample of all the songs on his Rover album, and they are all highly cinematic like this.
The only song that has an MV is "Rover," the other 5 songs in this "Film: Kai Rover" video are B-side songs, so they don't have MVs.
Kai had a hand in producing this whole album and his "Film: Kai Rover" storyline is supposed to depict his life journey and all that he has gone through to become the idol and performer that he is today. Everything he does is very deep and philosophical and has a lot of different layers, which can be interpreted in many ways depending on how deeply you want to explore the concepts in the video.

I love these films. The three albums are so good. I can't pick a favorite because the songs are all amazing. I also loved the Peaches MV. Loved the traditional play motif used for the sets and costumes was beautiful as was his voice. Kai actually performed several of the songs from the first and second albums at the Hallyu Pop Fest in Sydney and London 2022. He usually does a set of 6 songs. Thanks for reacting to these films.

Peaches was his 2nd mini album and because he didn't have enough time he only did a small snippet of one track(Vanilla) of it called KAI PEACHES: THE PROLOGUE. when you guys were scrolling looking for the 2nd one the video was shown on the list at the bottom at 8:50 .

Film: Kai consists of teasers for each song in one (mini) album. Unfortunately, Film: Kai for the second album (Peaches) is not available, due to tight production time.
From his three albums, not only as a great dancer, but the quality of Kai's voice is also very visible and developed, especially with the choice of songs that really match with his vocal range.
The first Film: Kai is really artistic (art needs Kai 😅), even though Peaches doesn't have it, but the MV is really beautiful with a comfortable color selection. Peaches's dance practice is also very sophisticated. Thanks me later, it's not a loss to buy or at least listen to Kai's entire albums.
