  • As part of Chemar Holder's rehabilitation programme, his strength & conditioning regime has been meticulously curated and carried out by our team of specialists (Jock Campbell & Peter Marcasciano).
    In this episode, Chemar is taken through a strength session in the gym with Pete.
    The selection of each exercise is specific to Chemar’s needs and the method in which each exercise is carried out is specific to the athlete.
    Chemar has been working super hard in this training camp and is getting stronger by the day!

      Hi my friend, each workout changes based on the athlete and stage of the programme that the athlete is in. None of the workouts are generic...

    When he will be fully fit to join the windies team?

    • @speedcamp
      @speedcamp  10 месяцев назад

      He’s pretty much fully fit now but needs to be carefully reintegrated back into competitive cricket. It’s not a straightforward process as ‘competition’ presents a variety of unexpected hurdles but if he’s managed carefully, he should be back very soon!

    Not to deride you guys, i appreciate your content, but i find steffan Jones' training methods to be more suitable for fast bowling than a generic s&c like Peter's. He says there's no place for isolation exercises in fast bowlers training but Steff rarely uses compound lifts other than in general strength phase. What are your thoughts on this?

    • @nightwatchman7482
      @nightwatchman7482 10 месяцев назад

      But this is actually rehab, so Peter might be the right guy here

      You’re entitled to your opinion. Our thoughts:
      1: fast bowling is extremely complex and the research into fast bowling will never stop. We don’t think any one person out there has all the answers. Whilst we’re open to new information and ideas, we come to our own conclusions.
      2: Peter is far from a ‘generic’ S&C. He’s trained multiple world champions across multiple sports over the last 20-30 years. His approach to each athlete is specific.
      3: in addition to the above, the spectrum of knowledge that a coach like Peter has shouldn’t be summarised in a short video that contains a few clips of him speaking. There is a lot more context to the conversation which can often get missed in short clips.
      Hope the above makes sense.
