This is very helpful and clear. Thank you. I have used shot scope products for 4 years approx. I've had a couple of (minor) occasions when I needed help and they were outstanding. So good dealing with people in Edinburgh. They were efficient, helpful and sorted things no questions. The data you get on your game is first rate, and they are constantly improving it. I love their products

Thanks for the feedback, Alan. I really enjoy creating these help/support videos and I'm glad to hear that they are worthwhile. As a fellow Shot Scope user, I too have had a great experience using their products and find the support team first class. I do sometimes see negative comments but I know from experience that the vast majority of issues that users experience are down to user error and not following the guidance, hence I create these videos. I've plans for plenty more in the coming weeks but it sounds you're already in the know!
Is it the H4 that you use?

Hi, never used anything like this before. With the tags, do you have to tag the club after any practice swings to ensure shots count accuracy?

      Hi Ian,
With the H4 Handheld, you tap the tag on the screen when you're at your ball (either before or after practise swings) to log the shot/location. When you arrive at your next shot, you repeat the process. Essentially, shot tracking is a manual process.
With the other Shot Scope devices (V5 and X5 golf watches), all tracking is done automatically, so practise swings are essentially to allow the tag to work with the antenna in the strap to log the shot.
This video is a bit on the old side but covers how the H4 works :ruclips.net/video/_st67Cv-W5w/видео.html
You can view a full review of the H4 on my golf blog here: www.andysgolfblog.co.uk/blog/shot-scope-h4-handheld-review/
and the V5 review here: www.andysgolfblog.co.uk/gps-and-rangefinders/shot-scope-v5-gps-golf-watch-full-review-six-months-on/
      Hope these resources help!

Thanks for replying Andy. Have been checking out your other vids/reviews. I like the look of the (older) V3 watch with trackers. ShotScope are selling these at only £99, think I may now go for one of these. Thanks again for your great reviews. Now subscribed 👍

No problem at all. In truth, if budget allows, the V5 is a much better device than the v3 in terms of features and tags, but if you’re not too fussed then the cheaper option might do!

I've used this all year, overall I find it excellent to use and I prefer it to the X5 which I sent back, my only real complaint is the GPS is inaccurate on the greens, in fact it is almost useless, I need to edit virtually every green, I suspect this is down to an old GPS chipset which isn't accurate enough, Arccos is much better on the green, maybe 2 or. needing edits, I know GPS will not be pefect, but this if far from it, I hope they bring out an updated version with better GPS, I would certainly upgrade to a newer model

Interesting point, Mike. I've honestly never found the GPS to be that far out when on the greens to be honest, although I do mainly use the V5. That said, I have used the H4 thoroughly and never really had an issue with it. I've pretty much made peace with the fact that the positions on the green will likely need to be updated during the editing process, which doesn't take too much effort. The H4 is now a few years old, and as you said, probably a little less accurate due to older technology. Generally speaking, though, I think it's a nice little piece of kit.
Do you eve use yours with the PRO LX laser or just independently? Also, is your preference to wear it on the belt clip or keep in your pocket?
