The Ultimate Slab City Camp Tour

- Angie is a free spirit.
She lives in the outskirts of Slab City in what some refer to as "country slabs" or "slaburbia." We were lucky enough to get exclusive access to Angie's camp, and she gave us a full tour of her Slab City camp, as well as some other neighboring camps. Tori is her girlfriend, and together they have a family and a community. Just like many people in Slab City, they have a lot of pets. Most people in the slabs have dogs or cats or both.
Slab City has gained a reputation as a homeless mecca in the middle of the Imperial County California desert. Some RUclipsrs that have covered Slab City say that they "Survived 24 hours in Slab City" or they call it the "city with no laws." Indeed, surviving in Slab City is difficult, but not for 24 hours, and when people say it has no laws that's not entirely true, as they have to adhere to county law, and are patrolled regularly by the Imperial County Sheriff's department.
