The first Apollo Justice game was incredibly weak. Although we got a few good characters, it felt like a poor replica of the original series. Personally, I found Dual Destinies to be great, but some people have other opinions. We still got great characters out of that and it's definitely a step up from the previous game. Spirit of Justice was awesome. Good characters, good trials, and the ending gives the developers loads of options to work with. That said, the final trial was massive let down. The villain was completely generic and overpowered, yet never used what she had correctly.

Very strong character writing, and much more nuanced than even the original trilogy, but I think Apollo himself was a weak link, and I think the ending was weak. Dual Destinies had a few good ideas, but undercuts itself with its complete lack of subtlety, its confusing narrative structure, and some utterly nonsensical plot points. I think it's the series worst by a wide margin. Spirit of Justice is better, but the story feels unfocused, and once again lacks nuance.
