  • New Bremen, Ohio is one of the nicest, cleanest, prettiest small towns in America. Located in Auglaize County, the village was founded by German immigrants in 1832 along the historic Miami-Erie Canal. Home of the Bicycle Museum of America, New Bremen is also the world headquarters of the Crown Equipment Corporation, which invested heavily in New Bremen by restoring several of the village's historic buildings dating back to the 1800s. Join me, the History Mystery Man, for a guided tour of one of my favorite small towns in the country. We'll meet the folks who live there and even visit the Bicycle Museum of America. Thanks for your support! #HistoryMysteryMan #NewBremen #Ohio #SmallTownAmerica #CrownEquipment

Isn't that the truth! America should pay attention to small towns, find out what they're doing...and do that. I mean, when is the last time you were in any town and you couldn't find a candy wrapper on the sidewalk anywhere? Thanks again Robert...HMM

Our world today has certainly challenged our cities and towns. Many places have turned ugly, almost a sesspool. Trash, increased crime, lack of enforcement (hands tied). Limited in so many ways by lack of funding. I can't even understand the languages. Never heard of 1/2 the countries. Long live New Bremen!

HMM, first let me congratulate you for producing such a fine video. A great deal of time and effort went into this adventure....from pre-arranging with the local folks, to driving to/from your home, to editing for the finished product.
I've become very frustrated with many aspects of life lately (will not go there), and this type of video truly helps me! I enjoyed every minute of watching this one. I love New Bremen and typically pass through there on my way to the Big E. I've also spent time there riding my bike, and furthering my canal related adventures (one of my areas of real interest).
It's comforting to know there are still towns like this, with locals having roots and family values.
Geez Don. I can't loose with your channel. Whether it's racing related, or just pure local town history - I find each type of video super interesting. You hit my two favorite cords.
Again, I appreciate all the time and effort you put into this one. Easily one of your most complete well done videos. The quality and content here is amazing.

Thanks so much Chuck. This video is actually three years old, but I thought it'd be a good time to feature it. It played on Facebook three years ago, but never on RUclips. And of course, I've sharpened my production a little since then. I would agree...it's hard to fathom that New Bremen is even in America. I mean just cost and compare a big American city with New Bremen...chaos compared to Norman Rockwell. Hard to believe these towns still exist. I'm glad I could bring some level of comfort. I get lost in these small towns, and find comfort myself in all of them...HMM

Did you ever think about making a video on Lancaster Ohio?
