Born and raised here myself. I ❤️my State. I'm proud to be a Buckeye. There's so much to see and do here. We don't even have to go out of State to vacation.
Home town, Bryan,Ohio❤
Native Ohioan here, Holmes County is the most beautiful part of the state.
very Swiss heritage as a lot of the Amish settlers came from the Berne area and Holmes County reminded them of home.
So, so clean. I didn't see a single piece of trash in the entire video . I live in DC, trashes are everywhere, city street, side streets, highways, free ways, you name. Nowadays trash is the hallmark of most US major cities. Amish country is like a heaven on earth.
BEAUTIFUL
This is so beautiful. Most Americans don't know how good they have it.
True, true and true 👍
Most Americans live in communities that are nothing like this.
Born and raised in Ohio love it here. Amish country is beautiful I have an Amish friend. She's so Wonderful... Love the scenery...
Amish have the BEST math school book around. Nice video.
Back in 2010 Ohio, I was in Steubenville, home of singer Dean Martin, looking for an old Army buddy Vietnam circa 1967 named Harold T. He told me he worked in the coal mines. He got drafted to stay out of jail at age 22. He was right there in the Courthouse.
It's a long story about training on helicopters and our Vietnam service '68. His dad died while Harold was in Vietnam. I finally found his phone number. Point being is when one serves with someone under duress and stress, they tell you everything about family, friends, the town. So while I was in Steubenville, I felt like I lived in the place once.
My buddy died in Vietnam that had lived on Squirrel Hill in Pittsburgh. Godspeed RVer. Eaglegards...
Thanks for acknowledgement of a great comment.
I love this guy, his countenance is so soothing. He's like Bob Ross
Second gen Hungarian American …, my grandpa settled in Cleveland 1910 … the whole family loves Ohio..
Ohio best location in the world …💪💪💪❤️❤️❤️❤️
Very interesting video, several of those murals in Steubenville were painted by a very good friend of mine, his name is Claude "Rusty" Ruston Baker & was born & raised in Killbuck, Ohio, in Holmes County who just happened to suddenly pass away 2 days ago. How ironic I came across your video. All the murals in Holmes County & the one in Killbuck were painted by him. Thank you for visiting our beautiful area & so glad you have shared it for so many people to see.
YEA, Ohio ,To Cool For School, Thanks RVerTV Russ, Fun Trip . 👍
I have lived in Ohio my entire life and I love Amish country..the world's largest cuckoo clock used to sit atop a restaurant originally
Yes on St Rt #62 north of Berlin in Wilmot, Ohio the restaurant was called Alpine Alpa.
@@gallionz53 yes..thank you. I couldn't remember the name of it
Russ my husband and I are elderly and our traveling days are over but we love coming along with you on all your adventures. Thank you for all you do!!! Jim and Jan from Winchester, Idaho
Thank you ,,
I’m really enjoying 😅my ride with you ,, to see Amish Country !!!
I’ve been wanting to do this ,, but Gas ⛽️ is too expensive and didn’t want to go by myself,,
Most my Friends are Married,, or still working!!
I’m enjoying being retired now !!
Very nice trip !!!!!!!!!!!👏🏻👏🏻
Steubenville; Dean Martins hometown
Thank you so much for the trip through beautiful Ohio! I really enjoyed it!
The things you called wheels aren't wheels, there millstones, they are to grind wheat and other grains into flour. Thank you for the videos, It is nice to see the country.
You are correct, years ago there was a grist mill on the Killbuck Creek as you came into town where the old train depot was across from the rubber plant. So much of the old things are gone that made Killbuck & Holmes County so quaint.
I have never been to Ohio, it's beautiful. Thanks for the video.
This is NOTHING like the vast Majority of the state.
I think this is a few years old. Still good to see. I live in Wooster, Ohio with the largest Amish community in the USA. Love this town. You always say how much snow we get here in Ohio. Feb. 19th and less than an inch so far this winter. It was 72 degrees one day last week. Its now 55 and sunny today. We just don't get much snow. Wooster is a beautiful college hilly town where all the people are so kind and helpful. Just don't look for wokie people here. LOL Good show Russ.
The info given at the top dates this from February of 2023. I agree; it does seem older. But then in Amish country, things change slowly. I guess that's why people go there.
I want to visit Ohio. I see that they still have horse and buggy for transportations. It must take very long to get mail there.
@@heatherfulmore3412 LOL! Not so much here in the NW corner of the State. But you can still see lots of horse and buggy transportation to the east and a bit south of where I am. It probably takes those horse and buggy folks just a few days *less* time than it does us flatlanders to get mail.
Millersburg / Berlin definitely has a higher population of Amish, Wooster is just a trashy mini city
I don't know how the snow missed you. We had at least 12 inches this winter, in south western Ohio. 7 or 8 inches in one day.
I WAS RAISED IN OHIO,,, THANK YOU,,,,,I LOVE EVERYTHING YOU DO,,,,♥️
Dean Martin's Birthplace (hey kids,Dean Martin was a singer)
HOW BEAUTIFUL AN AMERICAN FLAG AT EVERY INTERSECTION!
You really do a positive enlightened job of documenting Americana. Thanks !
My husband and I were there back over last Labor Day Weekend the scenery is so breathtaking loved the Cuckoo Clock and fell in love with it. I am a new subcriber and Ohio native from the Cleveland Ohio area.
Thank you so much for this trip through Amish country in Ohio! Loved seeing horse and buggy’s! The countryside was beautiful and I enjoyed seeing the small towns and historical site! Again thank you for sharing this trip with us!😀🐎
Yes I also want to Thank Mr.Russ, I've never been able to travel like 👍 this , I'm 79, so this is such a treat , enjoy it so much. Love these videos 📹, always wanted to learn a little about the Armish.

Oh my Goss loving all this ,,

Seeing all the Amish Hand Made Baskets 🧺 and really enjoy the whole Trip ,,
Thank you again ❤
G'day hello from Australia excellent channel mate 👍
Merry Christmas and we enjoyed the video. Thank you all so much!! ❤
Dean Martin was born in Steubenville Ohio. Great video of my home state.
For the longest time I thought someone was with you in your travels because you talk through the video. Then I saw the inside of your van and realized you're alone. So let me thank you for sharing your thoughts along your travels. My goal is to be able to do what you're doing. Traveling this great country. I spent my working life traveling and always used interstates. I do everything I can now to avoid them. Life is lived on the back roads, not on the interstate. I enjoy your videos. Thank you.
Wow, thank you
When I left Michigan I was on a bus headed south to the city with a group of the kind Amish. I respected their space and Sat away but I was thrilled to see them and watch the loyal love they had in unity
It's beautiful country. Thank you for sharing I live in west virginia
I had no idea West Virginia had a panhandle either and I grew up near by! We loved the longer format!
sitting here 2 hours south of the canadian border in new york wondering why it's 64 degrees in mid feb. and now i know. you brought it with you! Thanks!
Very lovely drive in Amish Country!💕
So sad to see so many empty buildings downtown. Give me those lovely slow old backroads!
Massillon, Ohio born and raised. Retired now in Florida. WONDERFUL tour from Steubenville to Tigertown... well done.
Hello Mike do u regret moving down just asking
@@steveib724 I miss the spring, summer and fall seasons and the fishing / hunting associated with them. Never did like snow. Some friends still in Tigertown, but the warm weather appeals to me more now with my aging process and limited mobility. No regrets ... life in retirement is good.
@@mikesherrett8928 thanks Mike glad your enjoying the south very hot but nice too I really think that's what's keeping me here too i like the winter down time love the fall too I'm in NY on long Island I quess you can't have it all enjoy every day my friend 👍
Love the world's biggest cuckoo clock. Thanks for taking us along.
Beautiful footage! Wow, it seems like a lovely place. It's so bright and clean. Nice video as always 👍 ❤
Traci Lords home town, she calls it Stupidville, not such a nice place
Watching this video one year on, from Ireland, always loved and admired the Amish people, their way of life, good Godly, salt of this earth folk, the real light to all nations just as the Creator of all intended it to be, long may they prosper and continue to show it His way.
We thank you for sharing your trip through all those beautiful towns in US IT IS DO BEAUTIFUL OUT THST WAY . Watching from Alberta Canada 🇨🇦
Your voice and speech sounds like the actor Bruce Dern -- very enjoyable sound track and video!
I live in the WV Panhandle in Wheeling,WV I’m 10 minutes from Ohio and about the same to PA. Pittsburgh is about an hour. It’s very cold in the winter usually and hot & humid summers. My fave time of year here is fall. Thanks for driving by. 🙂🌷
When in Berlin OH, you gotta drop down to the tiny town of Charm stopping at Miller's Bakery. It's all outstanding but the fry pies are the best!
I am in NC one of our favorite places is Miller's Bakery, Hopefully will be there in July.
I would love to do what you do!!
How cool was this trip. I love the cuckoo clock. Something I would have never seen on my own. Ohio is beautiful. Thanks again
It’s also ugly depending on where you look.
Really enjoyed this video. Ohio is beautiful!
Outstanding Road trip !!!!🍿🥤👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I have a feeling that we're not in Quartzsite anymore 🙂. Russ, I love these long-form videos...they give me a chance to kick back for a couple of hours, soak up the scenery and, as you say, enjoy the ride. At 7:20 -- "Learn something new every day..." -- I usually amend the saying with "...whether you want to or not.". That's one of the big reasons to travel, isn't it? Oh, by the way, according to wikipedia there are 18,774 Dollar General, 8,200 Family Dollar and 15,115 Dollar Tree stores in the US. Happy trails!
Same here....memories 🎶🌾
You know…..Johnny Wadd Holmes was from Ohio.
I WAS BORN IN BARBERTON OHIO I LOVE OHIO
Great video ! BTW I was born and raised and still live in Holmes county
My neck of the woods! Enjoy!!
I take 77 South past Canton Ohio and then will see the exit for Sugar Creek. I rode my bicycle thru there one Sunday and saw all the Amish and their long horned cows and farms and kids and buggies. Have fun. I did when I was there. Thanks for showing it to me again.
I grew up in Dillonvale and currently live in Mt Pleasant. So shocked to turn the vid on and see you driving thru my hometowns haha
Love your channel . ❤❤❤
Ohio is very pretty to see. Enjoy your visit with your friend.
I think the Amish are of German heritage, the spelling Deutsch sounds Dutch but is German origin
love these videos thanks for sharing
Amazing video ,thank you.
We travelled to Berlin from Ireland ,after stopping in PA ,I enjoyed the drive , such a beautiful area ..... Food people etc. We are going bk in a few weeks time again for a few days .
🙋♀Hello Russ! I always have enjoyed seeing the beautiful Amish Country. Loved stopping in Sugar Creek to see the Cuckoo Clock. Neat! I really liked this Amish Campground, everything about it just seems to invite you in. Beautiful flowers. Loved the aerial views showing the lush green pastures. Like a quilt with various shades of greens. The quilts in the museum brought back memories of my Granny's warm quilts. Really enjoyed the drive from Steubenville to Killbuck. 👍
107K!!!!! Happy for you, you have worked hard putting out quality videos. This definitely was another one. Love small town America. 🙂👍👍
Ohio is beautiful 😍
Thanks, I'm from Cleveland, Ohio, but my parents moved us away 40 years ago when I was a kid.
I enjoyed the trip and your narration. I'm a big fan of just rolling through back woods and seeing the small towns and old buildings. I look forward to more.
thank you
Yeah, if you ever need a sidekick. 😊 Enjoy!!!
I love seeing the beautiful heartland of America. Looks so peaceful.
Always fascinated by these small towns in the states. I'm in the uk but love to watch these videos . Are you local to this area ?
No, I’m not local but have visited Amish areas. @@stevedavis6879
GOOD VIDEO, I live in Ohio Amish Country 😁👋
The heart of Amish Country is in Lancaster County Pennsylvania. 😎😎
Actually Holmes County has the largest Amish community in the country
Oh man, you missed out on Heini’s Cheese Chalet. You can get in line and sample every one of their cheeses. They have buckets of toothpicks and you just go through this big U shaped room and eat all the cheese you want. For free. They have some seriously delicious cheeses and some really obscure creations too. So good.
Thanks for the tip back home I live in Alabama but I’m from Xenia Ohio east of Dayton Ohio
Born and raised in Ohio now living in southeastern Oklahoma. Thanks for the look back.

I use to visit my grandma plenty of times, she lived in Brewster Ohio and we have been to all these places you’ve mentioned. Love this area . Good trail bologna and the best cheese you’ll ever eat !!
Enjoyed Ohio very much.
Trees were Flowering Pear Trees with the big white blossoms.
So nice taking the roads with you. The museums, small towns, all with that great camera.

Are you traveling by yourself? Stay well and thanks for taking us with you ❤

Beautiful country. A little disappointed that we couldn't go on some farms and learn how they work. I know they don't like to be photographed. Thanks for the ride along.
Great video!
Thank you for sharing,Russ ! Beautiful country we have. God Bless 🙏
Russ, love your vids, you're in my old home country. 60 yrs ago I played basketball in that gym at Hiland High School. I was raised on a farm in Homes County 4 miles south of Nashville, OH.

Grew up in Ohio and miss it very much. Thank you
So glad to see you made it through my little part of Appalachia (Steubenville, Dillonvale, Mt.Pleasent, Cadiz) and more out through Rt.250..
Drove through Steubenville in 2001, all I remember is the sign saying "Birthplace of Dean Martin".
Now the Amish ways sound brilliant
I love Amish cooking !

dont miss driving route 7 before the power plant for Ohio Edison disappears. Also route 7 is the also known as the Lewis and Clark Trail. I walked it many times as a child back in the day. Loved growing up in this area myself. Do have to say it was alot different then.
I am so sorry for your loss. He was such a cutie! I enjoyed watching him.
I’m sending prayers for your comfort.
I hope it’s not a once in a lifetime. Thanks for sharing Russ. Hope you didn’t get near the train mess. Travel safe!
Really enjoying the long form videos Russ!!
Enjoy pretty ride, relaxing eating my 🍫 ♥ 🍬! Thanks for Sharing!
Sure glad I live in a time where I can watch video's like this. Nice to see places I never would have seen if not for this great channel. Unbelievable why more people don't subscribe and click the like button. Painless, cost nothing, and helps you out??
Clark Gable was from Cadiz, Ohio. really enjoyed watching this. I am from the neighboring county of tuscarawas county. it is beautiful country. Going to plan on going to Killbuck this summer to visit the little museum, that was interesting. thank you for sharing with us.
Harrison County Ohio is where Cadiz is. Nice littlr state park with horse trails. Only three traffic signals in all of Harrison County, one at the Court house in Cadiz the county seat and two in Scio a town of 800 residents. No straight roads in Harrison County, the longest strait stretch is less than a mile on Rt 9 north of Cadiz. Everything is at an angle. I have to drive to the mailbox where its level to check my oil. Good stuff
Clark Gable was born in Cadiz, OH. There's a placard in town there somewhere..
These videos are so beautiful. Thank you for sharing your journeys. I have always wanted to do what you do. How blessed you are to be able to do this. Safe travels always and God bless!
