It’s actually really cleverly done. If you hadn’t read the books, you’re going to get surprised by everything that happens. But if you have read the books, you’re going to still be surprised, because it doesn’t depict what was written as having happened - rather, it depicts how things “really” played out.
@@Wattywatasaurus I’m gonna be honest, I know how the timeline plays out and I just don’t feel like getting invested in a bunch of characters who are almost all going to die horribly for no good reason other than the Targaryen bloodline has to be thinned out to a trickle.

My idea for a Game of Thrones show: “Iron and Steam”. During the reign of King Bran the Broken, he creates the first ever articles of war. Bran’s son and heir, King Robb II Stark, claims that dragons and magic are too powerful in the hands of men and declares that only Earthly materials can be handled by men, by law. *500 years later* The Six Kingdoms are a distant memory, Republics, dictatorships and Anarchist states litter Westeros. Hoping to gain a new advantage in siege warfare, the Northmen have created flying machines. A shortage of lumber forces the Ironborn to switch to coal-powered steel battleships. The Dornish have discovered abundant amounts of flammable liquid beneath their deserts and created machines powered by the liquid. The Reach needed faster transportation for their livestock so they created steam-powered transportation machines that slide along specially laid tracks and others that can go wherever there’s a road. The Riverlands needed a military advantage so they created spears with explosives on the tips. Now, at the flip of a trigger switch, a projectile comes flying from the “Boomstick” that tears the enemy a shreds. Finally, King’s Landing needed better communications with other cities, so it laid wires traveling for miles that can be used to transmit messages in minutes.
There's way more to a story than "wanting to be surprised" and the whole "I know how it ends" thing never seemed like a fair criticism for me, certainly not enough to drop a piece of media that's otherwise good.

Look we all didn’t even realize how much we missed and needed this. It could very well tank very soon but for right now, for this moment, game of thrones is back!
Having watched 5 episodes, I realized it's not a show about my favorite fantasy world with knights, castles, dragons and wars. It's a show about a woman deprived of power because of her sex. Then about a young woman threatened to be deprived of power because of her sex. It's also a show about 'in your face' child birth (if they could stick the camera further between the women's legs they would) and then about the mandatory infusing of just the right percent of lgbtq2000+. I simply can't watch another minute as it's yet another American show that's part of a force indoctrination for emphasizing *women* and *lgbtq+* above plot, reason, historical sense or just common sense. Men are severely marginalized in this show, testosterone is the root of all evil and it just doesn't make sense anymore to watch. Don't get me wrong, I'm all about equal rights, I'm against discrimination but can't you just give me a show that makes actual sense, you know.. that corresponds with thousands of years of actual human history?
I never watched game of thrones (and never plan to) but I know that burn all too well. We all remember (and wish we could forget) How I met your mother.
I mean but HOTD is a very good tv show... Why not see it as a new and completely unrelated show, that just happens to be using the same world and book series? why must you be so skeptical about it?
Before making House of Dragon, they should have atleast remade the botchrd season 8 finale. That would have made the any upcoming prequels or sequals will give more confidence to the viewers...

Here’s the difference between Seasons 6-8 of GoT and HoTD. D&D ran out of books and thus had to write whole new original material. HoTS doesn’t have D&D being involved and has an actual clear ending. All they need to do is follow the book
I remember house of dragon got alot backlash when it was announced cause how bad everyone include me hate season 8 but after watch couple episodes, I like it and many do to and it way better then ring of power and season 8 and I love the fact when they announced this show HBO made it public that D&D are not made this show and won't be any game of throne show
I remember after S8 some people were hyped about the prospect of prequels in the works and I was not with them at all. I had lost all interest in all things GoT after that dumpster fire of an ending. House of the Dragon came out and I didn't even bat an eye. Then I watched Knights Watch reviews of the episodes on RUclips and thought it sounded good enough to check out. So far, it is honestly so much better than S6 and 7, let alone S8. It is not early GoT good, but it is easily better than most of the garbage that comes out today by orders of magnitudes. I did not expect to be so happy about GoT's return, but I am.

His wig in this video still looks more realistic and less ridiculous than the super poofy white wigs on the "Velaryons."
Don't worry they ruined star wars also, this is exactly how I felt about the new movies
Look we all didn’t even realize how much we missed and needed this. It could very well tank very soon but for right now, for this moment, game of thrones is back!
It's not back until I see Bs, and V
Is back and we going to love it until someone screwed up again
@@inuyasha31141 There is a writer called Sara Hess who doesn't understand why fans love Daemon.
He is Grrm’s favorite character godamn
It really does suck so bad.
Please make a video on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. It deserves to be appreciated
Idek how I got here, I've barely watched any of the original Game of Thrones
The themes of the sketch will speak to you then
Lol that pretty much sums up exactly how I feel about H.OT.D. Hearing it put into words makes me feel a bit better about not watching it yet.
HOTD is just so amazingly terrible. Bailed out after episode 3.
Well this was soul crushing
THIS IS PRETTY MUCH EVERY FANBASE!
Before making House of Dragon, they should have atleast remade the botchrd season 8 finale. That would have made the any upcoming prequels or sequals will give more confidence to the viewers...
Quick poll for my fellow Zoniacs. In your opinion, would it be better if real life was more like TV or if TV was more like real life?
We have all been naive...
They took our innocence :(
Well... now I'm sad
Oh common, House of the Dragon is worth watching. 5 episodes in and I'm personally enjoying it, even though it's different from the books
Pretty similar to the books
@@everburn eh they changed some story beats
This show is amazing. Great writing, great dialogue, great drama, great visuals, great acting. I’m obsessed
Are you a bot?
@@youngtally2677 Nope, are you?
I'm not sure if you know what real good writing, acting, dialog is. but ok, if this is our standard nowadays i have to.accept it.
just curious - did you read the book?
@@bastooo3 Don't even try, dude. The people who are obsessed with this garbage show will never see reason and will be violently oppositional if you even try to say that it's not as good as everyone says it is.
@@youngtally2677People are allowed to like different things than you...
Obscurity it is, thank you very much
Never understood the problem people have with prequels.
Honestly, the show has been pretty good so far. By the way, I loved the video.
Show is AMAZING
It's decent, feels like it's made for teenage girls. Feels a bit like a CW treatment of Westeros, what with all the nobles murdering each other in front of their own king and somehow not being immediately executed.
@@vishaansingh1019 It's written by women with the maturity of teenage girls
@@mickeymickey9914 No, it's showrun by two middle-aged white guys (One of whom just quit), they just write the characters into easily identifiable soap opera slots cause it's an easy way to draw in a massive female viewership.
Its ok
Loved the original show so much I read the books. Haven't got around to the expanded universe.yet so everything in HotD is new to me. I do find it hilarious that if you write the series acronyms out in order it spells GoT Hot D..... 😂 That's a hoot! Im loving the new show.
Here’s the difference between Seasons 6-8 of GoT and HoTD. D&D ran out of books and thus had to write whole new original material. HoTS doesn’t have D&D being involved and has an actual clear ending. All they need to do is follow the book
Well done. It sums it up pretty good😄
I remember house of dragon got alot backlash when it was announced cause how bad everyone include me hate season 8 but after watch couple episodes, I like it and many do to and it way better then ring of power and season 8 and I love the fact when they announced this show HBO made it public that D&D are not made this show and won't be any game of throne show
People just like to be tribal and hate things just to hate it.
If you have to call yourself "hip" or "with it", then you're not.
SURPRISED THAT THERE WAS NO LOTR JOKE!
I see that ghostbusters afterlife poster in the room, maybe I'm not the only one who is in love with that sequel. Maybe?
It took me forever to realized Warp Zone Davis and Scary Game Squad Davis were the same person.
I'd rather just be an out of touch old man, thanks! By the way nice SSF2 Turbo arcade, it brings back good memories :)
Warp Zone: Midlife Crisis. Makes me happy I never got into GOT
Reject modernity, embrace anime.
Season 1 was ok, particularly the young Alicent and Rhaenyra. But my goodness is season 2 bad. Dull and soulless, I don't care about anyone or what they have to say. It baffles me how people can.
It literally makes my entire day when I get to see a truely, as always, on point skit from the warp zone. #warpzoneshow "it would be way more relevant then G4tv"......lol
Hotd is very good actually. The writing is way better than got
I left at got season 7 and read berserk instead. I think im hurt more than the average got fan as i did sit through those cgi seasons and we all know of the mangas current predicament and the tragic feath of Kentaro Miura. Still im fine with obscurity that just means freedom
When he mentioned the matt smith thing it just inforced the thing i have were if i am able to watch a show that has one of the doctors in it i just have to like i would probably never have watched good omes if not for david tennant
Thank goodness the show isn’t going the way of Game of Thrones season 8
Amen to that brother. Amen to that
Get over it. Was still the best f***ing thing on tv that year
...Yet...
Lol. We're barely halfway through the first season.
Calm down, Potsy.
@@Geohillierneo That's irrelevant.
It was the best thing on for a good decade.
"you didn't have to cut me up!" - someone I used to know
Oddly enough, the same probably can be applied to Rings of Powers and the LotR fandom.
About the relevance part: i haver never watched this or game of thrones either, so feel free to talk to me. You will be relevant for me.
I blame the Rap Music. The ticking of the hihat constantly triggers the brain with instant reactions to uneeded strife with a feeling to ACT SUDDENLY. The thud and vibration of the Bass messes with the timing of the Heart and Lungs causing undo stress and Anxieties....
House of the Dragon is sooo goood ❤ It's a nice change from the shit that was season eight of Game of Thrones and the Rings of Power on amazon.

Millennials: I’m hip, I’m with it.
Gen Z: Ugh… Cringe.
I just love videos like these
It's surprisingly well written...
"suprisingly?" Ouch 😜
@@TheWarpZone I thought it was funny waiting for more also if you could totally make fun of rings of power that would be awesome also She-Hulk attorney at law
Hahaha it definitely isn't. I'll bet you like CW shows don't you?
I agree it’s good
Oh whatever. HOTD is so much superior than GOT so far.
What about an inner fanboy for Lord of the Rings: Power of the Rings?
I remember watching the first episode of HOTD...it game a bittersweet feeling hearing the main title song again 😭
This speaks to me, because i actually skipped on the first GoT show. But I never looked back
Hotd is good. Even if you know 0 about asoiaf...a really well done show
Oh no can't recognise meme I have to watch the show. Nope, not happening, my interest in this franchise was stabbed by Aria and burned down with King's Landing.
A fan from Indian ❤
No Man don't fall for it. even if it's better it's still ultimately leading up to the disappointing crash and burn of an ending season 8 was, this spin off won't erase it. Besides you don't need to worry about relevance by skipping it. The most popular show right now is Yellowstone not this.
I can’t decide if this aged like milk or a fine red wine 🤔
I have never seen a single ep of game of thrones ... and that makes me happy!
You want an award? Here 🏆
it's genuinely a good show
