Effleurage was well said. As a French myself (born & raised) I valid the pronunciation 100%
Regarding the question about the position that causes back pain I think it's DOP, and LOA is the optimal position.
Thanks for these videos once again!

I think LOP (not sure if left or right matters), sunny side up leads to back labor

In 1971 my mother received a spinal block which caused my sister to develop cerebral palsy because when they gave it to her, my sister was already in the birth canal.

When I had my first, he was an emergency c-section and I don't remember any movement. With my 2nd, he was a planned c-section and it was such a weird sensation that I could feel the movement and the tugging but I couldn't feel any pain.

Sunny side up presentation will cause back pain. I had back labor with my first when I was 19. It was painful. I didn’t have medications. Dr said oh she’s coming out sunny side up.

When I was in labor the nurse who put my IV was new and she poke me like 8 times and the needle was quit big so it hurt. The worst part was when they do the spinal for the c section and smt like fluid supposed to come out and the guy who did that was also new, he try like 3 spots still didn’t get the fluid out so they gave me Anastasia, so disappointed I’m scared to get pregnant now! How do I tell my doc that I don’t want the new nurses?

Hi there :) Your doctor isn't responsible for nursing assignments or overseeing nurses; physicians and nurses come from two different disciplines, and have their own hierarchy and management! If you are a "hard stick" (meaning it's tough to get IVs started on you), I recommend letting your nurse know, and asking if they could send in their most experienced IV nurse. It's not always based on how long they've been a nurse. I was an IV specialist before becoming a nurse, so my IV skills were great even on my first day, but a veteran nurse who works in long term care might rarely start an IV. So you want to ask for whoever has the most experience with that _skill_ . Your spinal was not started by your bedside nurse, though; that was done by either an anesthesiologist or a CRNA. Again, you can ask for the anesthesia provider who is "the most experienced with spinal anesthesia." Hope that helps! --Meris

@@LevelUpRN thank you so much for the response. Btw is it normal to get shock in the leg while they insert the spinal anesthesia?
