Thank you for the backstory! I don't think I've ever heard any Alpert that wasn't the bouncy, happy stuff. And thank you for bringing your talents to this bit of history!
it's nice to dust this one off in time for the Olympic Games this summer - especially given the one-year delay of the games. I had not heard this composition, and am very glad that you found it and took the time to arrange, record and share. Nice debut of the euphonium even though your left index finger received no messages from your trumpet-centric brain (I would be in the same boat, having never played a 3+1 instrument. It took a while to train my thumb for a five valve tuba). The tone on all the instruments is quite good, and the musicianship is excellent. Oh yeah...great high note!!
Hey Maeve, great to see you've learned the trombone and have the euphonium for more depth on the low brass parts. This is great music. Good arrangement.
Thank you, Maeve! I was feeling a little low this morning, and this is just what I need to cheer me up! You are a treasure! I always look forward to your videos.
Absolutely incredible talent you have. I've enjoyed this piece since it was published and this is the only other time I've heard someone else tackle it, and you slayed it!
Maeve Magic again! How blessed we are with you around, Maeve. This is really cool. Was wondering whether you considered doing the tuba on the euph? Stay well.
I'll have to get a bit more fluent with the Euphonium first, but yeah would be interesting to see how it compares to the Fluba when dropped 1 octave. I'll explore. Thanks for listening Peet. 😆
What I love about this song is it's the perfect prelude to the next track - I'd love to see you play Rise!!
So at least one other person had this vinyl back in the day. Haven't heard this tune in years! Great job!
Unbelievably good! Bravo! Love your Channel!
AWESOME! Great to see you using a real t-bone too!
It's too wonderful !
Wow! Another ace. Well done and thank you.

Thanks Lou. It's definitely one of Herb Alpert's hidden gems!
Oooh amazing! Could you do Spanish Flea by Herb Alpert as well?
Nice job! Arranging, recording, and publishing - where do you find the time?!!! Great job with playing this!
Love this. Don't hear it as a theme for Olympics in Russia. Maybe in Mexico. Or in the soundtrack to a Western movie. Great job.
It was eventually used for World Cup in 1986 which was in Mexico!
Would you play bahama mama,please..
