When you say "they don't live in the margins" you'd be surprised they "patrol" down the edge later on in the day that's why I also think its important to make noise when fishing down the edge

2020 does Steve still use this method (groundbait) for his edge fishing. Or has he changed to a particle approach only?

Which best for the margins. Use your long pole and your top sections or buy a margin pole.

doesnt make a difference if you have the correct top kits.

How often do you put the ground-bait out then because I always worry I'm over feeding them and if you do that splashing every-time won't they start to realise

what type of fishing is this?

I dont see the importance of having a really strong thick line for margin fishing. When fishing the margins for big Carp what really matters is the strength of your elastic. Thats what absorbs the lunges of the fish and prevents your line from breaking...i have two margin rigs and both have 0.15 mainline 6lb breaking strain with 0.13 hooklengths 5lb breaking strain and with the right strong elastic you'll have no probs getting any fish out.

Strong thick line = better presentation? particularly as and when the fish are mooching in the margins?
