As loud ignorances fills this comment section.
    Here something positive.
    1. Seeing the complexity of the real world, has nothing to do with dividing anyone.
Intersectional feminism cares for *everyone* and combines these unique experiences into one movement. Not even only focussing on women at all.
2.Because you don't understand something doesn't mean it is not real.
    3. Feminism is an academic field there are heaps of research.
And yes every movement has loud idiots that simplify complex ideas.

I think the issue with intersectional feminism is that, under the guise of fighting oppression and promoting inclusiveness, it can turn out to favour the opposite and turns its adherents into fanatical bullies. Many adherents of intersectional feminism use it to show that they are “more” victimized than other victims. This ends up creating a hierarchy of classes of victims and, ironically, more division.

    • @lin-manuelmiranda4527
      @lin-manuelmiranda4527 2 года назад +17

There already is division within these communities. Admitting that different communities have different issues isn’t creating a “hierarchy of victims”, it’s the first step to finding solutions that benefit everyone

For example there are men who experience more sexism than women, more white people who exprience racism than other races. Many people tend to block whole groups of people together based on their demographic as if their immutable characteristic means they experience discrimination more than another group. Its simply not true. It's about diff individuals experiences.

They attack traditional feminism as privilege white women who don’t understand Black women have greater struggles, true in most cases (and how about Asian women).... they then complain that feminism in not Inclusive enough.... but to go on and tell men not to speak. Men can be Allies, but not allowed to speak first because they don’t know they never struggled and had inequality experiences.
But men do face inequality in many forms, and it starts when they are boys... Can Intersectional feminists come help Australia there is a Matriarchy in the School system that needs for help of equality. Since the 80's there was a huge rise in female teachers that focused just on women, the education system is poorly gender balanced and young girls get all the roll model support, female leaders and time, which young males suffer, with far less role models and attention. I personally watched all my female and male teachers focus only on girl (because their born into such an unfair disadvantaged in society, which is not true) There is a huge gender gap in the system, that far more men drop out and far far more women complete and move onto higher education because woman have far more support. There must be a 50/50 quota for male/female teachers, all genders need a balance of male teaches. Now far more women in Australia go to university, because of this unfair gender bias inequality and these boys are without role models and leaders, all now suffers at alarming higher suicide rates because of this imbalance. This could also become a worse issue, as many women are bitter from thinking that they are not treated fairly, what do you think will happened when this new generation of young men grow up, watching the selves being left out and suffer because of their gender?
So my question in Intersectional Feminism inclusive or only to fix women’s issues

Class is implied here, without being stated.
8:50 She's right, however, that doesn't stop people who exploit it for that Supremacist purpose in the same way that Christianity was historically exploited as camouflage for destructive acts.
This returns to Class again; expecting any individuals behaviour to be sufficient to improve society is an oppressive and destructive attitude. The idea that "men" need to listen more, is a very antiquated and discredited approach because it reinforces the "patriarchy" or its equivalents.
Unfortunately, many people are being caught up in Divide&Conquer tactics intended to divert attention from the extreme corruption of our political and corporate structures, so that people see one another as enemies instead of recognising that Likud or the Clintonites or Rogue Intel agencies etc are the enemy.

Feminism does include women of colour. It’s just not the main focus of feminism. Therefore feminism as a whole is like Bee said a “blanket” subject, so, it supports all women as a general as if all women have equal struggles. Intersectional feminism just goes more in-depth in regards to each women’s individual struggles with the general relation of being women.

I would like to respectfully request an example in current US American law where it is legal to discriminate? Quick question, what is the difference between mansplaining and 00:09:43 “if men listen a lot more than they talk”? Also is it okay for man to explain to women how they should act or behave? is it okay for men to generalize, stereotype women? Lastly is it okay for men to suppress women’s speech, opinions, feelings, or thought? All things being equal I would assume the same would apply if we reversed the question.

Intersectionality is inherently flawed. It ends up creating a hierarchy of identity which by definition creates marginalized groups.
This is what happens when you focus on the identity instead of the issues.
It also creates a huge issue of the misuse/waste of resources. You end up helping people who may not need as much help as others because they just so happen to have the"right" identity while denying help to others who have the "wrong" identity despite being genuinely disadvantaged and disenfranchised.
