  • Test for the presence of neurological irritation of the lumbar meninges or nerve roots.
    Positive if the patient reports an increase of radicular pain or symptoms in the spine and lower extremities. Symptoms often described as shooting or electrical-like sensations or the referral of symptoms deep into the ipsilateral gluteals and /or into the leg.
    Often performed with Straight Leg Raise Test.
    May be positive in multiple sclerosis, myelopathies or other pathologies affecting the meninges.
    It often indicates nerve root irritation, tethering, disc herniation, radiculopathy or meningeal irritation.
