    I owned the same vehicle (same color even) for 18 months and I found the ride to be very comfortable on rough pavement. I wonder if your shocks are worn out or something. If I had a complaint about the suspension it would have been that it was a bit too soft for spirited driving, not too firm.

      You could be right, I did get the shock absorbers tested at the Audi independent garage, they gave me a print out of the performance which they informed me were all ok, but they will be 16 years old now so it might make a difference I’ll wait for knocking noises or leaks to appear before replacing 👍🏼

    So did he love it or hate it? I wonder what the repair history has been like. It would be good to know to determine if it is a good used car buy. Although he would not the first owner.

      I’ve owned a 06 a4 since 2014 and I’ve spent between 1000 and 1500 per year on maintenance, so I love and hate mine, but if I was a decent mechanic I wouldn’t hate it.

      @@snowairland Thanks Eric. Still a lot cheaper then car payments. But not all the modern conveniences I guess. Always a trade off.

      Hey Paul, this is my car, the things I love about it are it’s looks, the engine and exhaust note sounds amazing and it’s speed the not so good is how it handles bumps in the road (poorly) but British roads are dire and the left foot rest I found is too steep and angle for your leg to relax
      When I bought it I’d seen an oily mist that the headlights were picking up at night I could see a leak around the cam covers which turned out to be a common issue just needed gasket replacing, I also noticed the steering felt worn/loose which the independent Audi specialist identified as front suspension arms both upper and lower + anti roll bar links
      I’ve replaced a lot of things myself as a trained mechanic (no longer in the trade or have access to a ramp tho) such as, front engine snub mount had disintegrated replaced with an upgraded polyurethane mount, upgraded bi-xenon headlights with adapter harness, taillights, new park aid sensor (rear corner sensor broke), battery, spark plugs, new coils x6, k&n air filter, pollen, fuel filters replaced, brake fluid change, oil changed, fitted genuine Audi cruise control and programmed in with OBDELEVEN, Bose sound system to be fitted, washer jet upgrade (fan style spray) & coolant change on the way

      @@Toms_Cars wow Tom. Sounds like a typical German car. Great car but they need constant work. Still worth it i think if it has a great ride. Bumpy roads and all. I am not a mechanic so not the car for me. Thanks for the detailed info. We have some crappy roads here in Toronto Canada but probably better then where you are. Cheers.

      @@paul38501 most of the things I replaced were for cosmetic reasons / personal preference & upgrades but yeh Audi parts aren’t cheap so being able to do the work yourself really helps

    This car always felt like more of a Mercedes CLK fighter than a 3-series. I feel both were geared a bit more luxury-oriented than the BMW. Definitely a rare, and cool car!

    I learned my neighbour has a 2004 BMW M3 coupe with just over 300,000 km (187,500 miles) he has done repairs of just over $5,000 over the routine maintenance, standard wear items like brakes etc. I was shocked and he said that there are several high mileage BMWs that have been really good within his family. He said some of the family have bought new BMWs in the last few years (sounded like the last 4 or 5) and they have not been quite as good. I hadn’t seen it as he was restoring it and I’m new to the area as of last April. He needed some help digging out from snowdrifts that blew in his one garage. When he opened the door I was surprised as he has only trucks and a Chevy Tahoe currently,,,,, I thought! Hahaha. Great getting to know the neighbours!

    Does this infotainment include connectivity with additionally installed rear view camera? And does the S-line package decreased towing of trailer from 2100kg to 1900kg or it remains the same with manual gearbox?? And how heavy can be load on additional on-trunk carrier?

    Still a nice clean looking car. Only thing i don't like about old German cars is they have poor spec like i bet the heated seats and nav in that cabriolet was an optional extra.

    • @shitloveaduck
      @shitloveaduck 2 года назад

      In this year of ANY vehicle, the heated seats and nav were likely extra no matter what you bought in this level or lower. They are only super common in the last couple of years due to added competition. You still pay for them individually, or as a package in the majority of vehicles.

    • @Toms_Cars
      @Toms_Cars 2 года назад +1

      Yes they were all optional extras, I fitted the cruise control and bi-xenon headlights (thankfully you can buy genuine Audi kits to upgrade them to, I don’t like non genuine after market gear)
