So I'm sure they rehearse the changes beforehand instead of improvising it right onstage hahah, that would be too wild. Special shoutout to Jiwoo for her twist in Run for Roses, I really love what she did with her line (props to Haewon and Lily too of course, but at this point you almost expect the vocal insanity from them).
There are few groups that have all members can sing but for me nmixx is the most vocally talented. Like not many group can do the harmonisation which is the difficult part. Even i have watched other groups do the harmonisation but they’re not really blend but nmixx is really good at harmonisation
she has a powerful voice but she can also do mellow. I love listening to both tho. Haewon who sings soulful and mellow songs x Haewon who rocks this genre
Lily covering Symphony, or anything Lily covers is worth experiencing. Lily is still so young, and has potential to be one of the best vocalists of any generation.
They have individual cameras and mics for each member on separate videos as well. Might be a bit much for a reaction video but I recommend checking them out on your own as well! So good!

MAMAMOO is there but not all of them are vocalists, EXO is there but not all of them are vocalists, Girls generation is there but not all of them are vocalists.... oh and babymonster, not all babymonster members are vocalists
The more I follow nmixx the more it make sense to me that Haewon is the number 1 trainee, and Lily is the second one. While Lily is a better vocalist overall. Haewon's versatility and stamina really is a bonus for her. then there's her dancing. but then again, both of them in the same group is just OP.
Regarding riffing and deviating from the studio version’s vocal arrangements, I don’t see NMIXX yet at Mamamoo’s level of comfortable jazzy improv AS WHOLE UNIT, but given the glimpses we’ve seen in a multitude of live stages, I have all the faith in the world that they’ll get there sooner than later. Personally, I believe JYP (as the Chief Creative Officer) and his A&R team positioned Mamamoo as the template to build NMIXX toward. Debut Itzy as a dance-oriented team, and then NMIXX as a vocal oriented team (but because it’s JYPE, they’re still superlative dancers, as a matter of course). I think there’s a decent chain of circumstantial evidence: JYP loves soulful music, he & Mamamoo had a collaboration stage at MAMA 2019, and he and HaeLy were the very first guests /performers on Hwasa’s talk show.
Oh, to add to my list, Mamamoo were also guests on JYP's Party People music talk show. I see you guys tried out Mamamoo's "Hip" and didn't dig it. But if you want a crash course on appreciating their ease and playfulness of vocal agility and accentuation, they did an episode of Killing Voice.
And for more NMIXX/Mamamoo overlap, at KCON 2022 LA, Sullyoon and Kyujin performed a collaboration stage with Loona's Heejin and Hyunjin, covering Mamamoo's "Decalcomanie," which Mamamoo, themselves, describe as their most difficult song to sing, to the point where they prefer to avoid singing it.
That's right. Other than Lily yet, they're not at the level of spontaneous ad-libbing naturally. But they're growing amazingly with every comeback. They're getting brave on stage as well and aren't afraid of mistakes. I'm looking forward to the future.
