In the verse a while before this video ends, Morde says, and I qoute, "Nor Gods, will stop me from claiming what's mine". Does this mean he plans on retaking the immortal bastion? Of so, that's gonna be mean as fuck. I can just picture the absolute devastation morde has to offer. That splash of Rhaast bursting out of Sion and about to attack Darius is NOTHING compared to what Morde could do to literally everyone. Jesus, they would make a mini non-canon comic about it. At first I was skeptic but in the end now I too agree champions need more backstory of themselves when playing, although I don't think Mordekaiser is the first one, Aatrox also has a few, Kayn and Rakan too from the top of my head, however some older ones don't really have that, Yorick for example is a champ you could pick up and have 0 idea of wtf he's talking about, if you haven't read who The Ruined King is.

I think the Yordle magic and the spirit realm and the shadow isles are all the same magic thats why mordekaiser can hop between worlds so too speak we see the magic kind of works this way with yuumis book and he tortured veigar to find out how it works. The shadow isles and spirit realm are connected which also connects zeds shadow magic to it and the yordels way of traveling along with nocturne etc I think tahm kench may use the same magic as well. Vastaya may tap into it as well. It might be all the same magic just going in and out of the spirit realm each creature with its own level of mastery or form of mastery of it and mordekaiser got a way it works out of veigar.
Swain also may be connected since he captured a demon and they from the spirit realm.

Aside from constructing the capital of noxus and being a warlord, how exactly important is mordekaiser in runeterra's history?
Hes important because of the influence he can SINGLE HANDINGLY GIBE TO RUNTERRA IS MASSIVE. Hes probably stronger than xerath and azir in his un bound form because he is the king of the dead. I dont see any kindred interactions so it must imply that he didnt need to go through kindreds trial cause of how much bound he is to the living.

also they seem to only add new interactions to new/reworked champs. The one exception i saw is Akali and Irelia interaction, but maybe the reason is the rework and the reveal are rather close to each other, and i guess they still have some time before wrapping up completely.

I don't know if this carries over from his previous lore, but Mordekaiser isn't related to the Shadow Isles -- he's from ancient Noxus. Yorick is gunning after the Ruined King, who previously ruled over the Shadow Isles. There's no reason for him to go after Morde unless they get in each other's way.

I mean the curse is caused by the Ruined King but Mord also uses the shadow isles as a toy.. so in truth Yorick probably would still have beef with Mord given Mord wouldnt give up a toy so easily until it became pointless to defend it. Then he'd probably just let the ruined king die..

Then he died, "refused to fade", was summoned back by some wizards and all of a sudden he has the power to enslave souls? Why?
I didn't read the story yet, is it answered there? If not, it's a massive plothole that kind of annoys me.

@@azalakhir918 Yes but HOW did he gain this power? You don't die as an ordinary human and come back as someone who can control souls just because you want to. That's pretty lazy writing imo. This whole "his will was so strong" trope is just weak and - to my mind - allways is a hint that the writers couldn't think of a unique or interesting origin of his powers.
I mean, look at the other magic users in LoL. Syndra, Lux, Brand and some others were born with magical powers and used their livetime to learn and control them (or NOT control them). Ezreal has magic because of the artifact he wields. Karthus wields his power because he was currupted by the dark mist. Diana, Leona and the rest of the aspects got their powers from Targon, they are the avatars of gods.
They all have interesting origins to their powers. And these origins make sense. And Mordekaiser? He got his powers because he wanted to? That's just bullshit.

Again, if you really wish to know or at least have sn idea how powerful he is, read his new bio. And the bios of the other champions directly connected to him, like Veigar. And once you do, tell me if you think Lux or Brand could have done the things he did so easily.

I think riot missed the oppurtunioty for a lot of interactions involving some of the most "death" related champions or those who have anguish.
Kindred (he should of actually seen them)
Ascended beings (semi gods that can be killed)
Darkin (Eternal beings)
Aspects (literal gods inhabiting mortals)
Celestials
Freiljordian Siblings
Illaoi
Jhin (he views death as an art so should find him amusing)
Kalista (absorbs souls to fuel her endless vengeance)
Yorick
Demons (tahm and eve since they are like an aspect of emotion and have no real soul )
Thresh (jailor of souls)
In all entirety a stronger spirit from the shadow isles like thresh should have a strong understanding of the death realm, as should karthus and yorick however beings like kalista and hecarim likely would not so he should have special lines for thresh and yorick as well but not kailista and hecarim
As for the darkin, he should talk about how their brethren faded like any other mortal being but how they are different now
Aspects,illaoi, freiljord trio and celestials should be some anti god commentary
Jhin should be a comment about his work, and looking forward to when he finally dies to serve him
Kindred could easily have 2-3 possible lines, one could be a quip such as "i suppose third times the charm isnt it" or a more less humorous "death has come for me again and it will fail again"
Take a shot everytime Necrit flips out about Mordekaiser's qoutes, you will flip over for a month.
I would say that interaction between Darius and Mordekaiser is less of a taunt and more of a challenge .
