    Here in Brazil red tails are much more common as pets than the common boas, we have just one legalized breeder and he has only a few pairs of other boas, BCC are our common boas lol

      This was my favourite video to date. Awesome work. The Pucallpa is absolutely beautiful. I can't find them anywhere on the market for sale. Already have the money set aside to get 1 from your next clutch. Lol. I just bought a beautiful guyana/suriname female with an awesome purple tint from a local breeder. Keep up the great work.

    You can hear how much you love all of these boas the way you talk about them with such enthusiasm and excitement. Some people I think as they get a big 'collection' lose the love for the individual animals themselves but you can tell you love each snake individually for the animal they are

    My female BCI got to be about 28 lbs. in weight at her heaviest and 8 ft. 4 in. in length, and was almost 35 years old when she passed away. She was small compared to that last boa you brought out.

      Haha! Yes the girl at the end is pretty massive. Probably the second largest boa that I have ever seen in person

  • @SnakeMan1989
    @SnakeMan1989 5 лет назад +2

    I think a big reason so many morphs are being combined to no end is the pressure that some breeders feel to be on top of the leading edge in this industry. It’s their way of making a living and they don’t want to be the guy that gets forgotten. I however appreciate the pure localities and clean bloodlines so much more and wish there were more reptile enthusiasts who did as well. To me, it’s much more interesting and fascinating to see just how diverse these animals are throughout their natural range. It just amazes me. I enjoy your videos and the candidness of them as well. Keep up the good work and thanks so much for all the information and passion you put into these videos.

    • @JasonsExoticReptiles
      @JasonsExoticReptiles  5 лет назад +2

      Thank you so much! And I agree, sometimes there is this rush to be the first, but sometimes people forget that just because you're the first doesn't mean you're the best. There's a group that can cater to all. And that's what is so cool about reptiles in the people involved. Everybody likes something a little bit different so you are able to spread yourself around a little bit. Thank you so much as well for hitting the Bell! If there's anything specific you want to see let me know. I'm happy to make it

    Great video! That huge Peruvian is incredible. Did you know they've been sequencing boa DNA? Vin Russo's updated boa book has all the latest info. The Tarahumera and Sonoran boas are classified as Boa sigma now, a completely separate boa species - no longer imperator. :) I LOVE the anery longies. I need a pair someday. I'm looking forward to your video on CA boas. I agree that they are totally underrated and undervalued, and I feel like they could definitely be the next big thing in snake keeping. The pinks the northern boas can have are unreal and there are so many great morphs to work with, and it's only a matter of time before more pop up!

    Great video. Boas are by far my favorite species of snakes and one of the things that I like most about them is the variability between the different localities. Even if you're not interested in morphs but just the natural looking snakes, there's enough variety for everybody to find a boa that is right for them.

    Hey, man. Really appreciate this video. I want a boa but my wife has a shoulder injury so she’s not confident in her ability to handle a larger heavy bodied snake. Very helpful to see their sizes in comparison. Can’t wait for that video focused on Central American localities. I hope you have the opportunity to show off some of the adult Nicaraguans in that video. I’d love to add a boa from you to the family.

    They are all absolutely gorgeous! I can see why she is one of your favorites spectacular lass😍, wonderful coloring, I always enjoy see the T+ albinos they really are a magical coloration for any reptile in my humble opinion, it be amazing to see an ultrasound on a boa I seen others do pythons, and colubrids do you actually see babies? Also do you ever work with Argentina boas or bco? What a wonderful and extremely under appreciated species as well. Thank you ever so much for sharing and best wishes always.

      I actually have an ultrasound video but it’s pretty old. Time to make a new one! And I have in the base, but I only have so much space and decides to do Peruvian bcc instead of bco

    Another fantastic and informative video. This is the best overview of localities I have seen. I'm a small-scale hobbyist (six snakes) who has various python species and one BRB. I've been really interested in maybe getting one of the dwarf species. Wow, that leopard morph is beautiful, but to be honest I am more interested in temperament than morphs because I think they're all beautiful. Still researching and thinking, but your info here has been both helpful and fascinating.
