- What's the right way to sign contracts now that you're an official LLC? Do you just sign as 'John Hancock' as you normally would? Actually not! It's important to make sure that signatures are from a company representative. Watch this explanation on the proper way to sign a contract.

Finally, a video that clearly explains this!! Thank you so much.
THANK YOU!!! Explained in simple terms and well understood. I read many articles and FINALLY nailed it. THANKS again!!!
Can I just sign the name of the LLC without signing my name?
Life saver!!! Thanks 💯 Homie!!!
So question. If I have a DBA can I sign as “manager of DBA” or is it better to do “manager of LLC” or does it not matter?
Your videos are absolutely life saving btw.
Best video I've seen on this. I really like the visual of exactly how to do it, thanks!
Great example and explanation!! Thanks!!
If im a "managing member" then would "manager" serve as an acceptable way to title myself when signing? Sometimes becomes too wordy / run out of room
Yes, personally I think the idea of "managing members" adds extra confusion to an already confusing topic, but if you're a managing member, you can sign as "Manager"
How do you sign job applications? Because when we are issued a birth certificate we are listed as a dead fictional corporation of the United States corporation?
Is a minor able to act as a representative of an LLC? I am 15, and started a single member LLC, which I am the only member of, earlier this year. I am looking at bidding commercial Lawn/Landscape clients (I own a Lawn/ Landscaping LLC), however I am still researching some of the legalities around contracts before I reach out to my attorney. For banking and insurance purposes, I have had to have a parent sign for documents, however they are not listed as members in the LLC.
Great question and I don't know the answer. Google your Secretary of State and give them a call to ask your state's rules on that.
@@betterlegal Thanks, will do that soon!
What about when signing a job application do you sign the same way or not?
lovely, simple, thank you!
Thankyou for this video i appreciate your time and knowledge. I do just have one question.
So i own a marketing agency, and i am trying to make sure im not going to be liable for anything. Me as an individual that is. - So im wondering, when i sign these agreements with my clients, should i by doing it like this :
--
1.) On the signature line:
""
So the signature line would contain "" ?
Or
2.) I print "Anthony, Manager of Multipurpose Marketing LLC" above the signature line, and then on the signature line, i sign my name only?
Anthony, Manager Of Multipurpose Marketing LLC
(this would be my name signatured)
I hope this makes sense, please respond and let me know. I would greatly appreciate it. Thankyou for this video regardless.
If someone were to provide me a contract that only had my name "Chad Sakonchick" on the signature line, I would physically write "Manager of BetterLegal Inc" after my printed name then sign with only my signature.
{signature}
-------------------------
Chad Sakonchick, Manager if BetterLegal Inc
thank you. Helpful!
Not a natural living blood being?
So If it's single member LLC and I am signing the contract as LLC, should I sign as My name, Owner/Founder of LLC name?
"Owner/Founder" is not an official title. "Manager" is an officially recognized title via every state.
If someone goes a step further and signs documents to list themselves officially as CEO, then "CEO" would be an acceptable recognized title.
@@betterlegal Great. Thank you for the guidance
What if I signed and started a project before my LLC formation completion? Do I continue as a sole proprietor and just accept new clients as explained in your video?
Not legal advice: Commonly accepted practices would suggest it is wise to begin doing business once the LLC is formed to avoid any potential issues.
Nothing really matters unless there is a dispute, then all the details matter a lot.
If you’ve signed your personal name on a contract, can they be revised?
Contracts can be revised or simply redone altogether, but the other party needs to sign off on it/agree to it
I'm going to ask a more detailed question in regards to this topic.
I'm a private man, with a given name and a family name. I would use this as my autograph:
":John-Smith: Doe." If I enter into a private agreement this is how I would put my wet ink autograph, recognizable in a common law court, a court of equity.
I comprehend the above.
I'm a CESTI QUE VIE style Trust Transmitting Utility or PERSON, aka ALL CAPS NAME, I might look like this: " JOHN SMITH DOE." on any legal/commercial instrument, such as a trust artifact, certificate of beneficial interest, aka legal title or deed to trust property (car title, land deed, etc.). I would sign for the beneficiary with this signature:
"All rights reserved, without prejudice, :John-Smith: Doe, Beneficiary."
Again I comprehend autographing in the capacity above.
My question is how does the above man, autograph for an LLC, not the transmitting utility ALL CAPS NAME.
I have an corporate entity with a STATE to operate in commerce, an LLC, and I want to autograph for an agreement between another incorporation. It's a single member LLC, it functions as the commercial enterprise vehicle for a separate common law trust which has commercial claim over the Transmitting Utility, and a separate trust EIN as apart of the legal distinction publicly filed in commercial venue.
Would I autograph like this: "COMPANY, LLC, :John-Smith: Doe, Authorized Rep." If I was to want to conduct Trade? Would I autograph differently? Appreciate it.
John-Smith Doe | Manager of COMPANY LLC. But the "Manager of COMPANY LLC' should already be printed on the document, if not have it changed. If you have to sign anyway, cross out your personal name and replace with "Manager of COMPANY LLC"
