What I've done that beats all of this wife/husband/single/multi-member nonsense is ...I made a Trust, Me and Wife are Trustees. Then the LLC Owner is the Trust! Thus, either my wife or I as trustees can make decisions as needed equally! So who owns the LLC? My Trust does, who controls and can make guarantees for business loans? Me or Wife since we are both Trustees. In short, there's no need to have a multi-member LLC for husbands and wives! Create a Trust!

This video answers an ESSENTIAL question that so many seem to botch. Some seller platforms tell you generally** MUST use your personal SSN for the W9 form if you are a single member LLC but apparently that's a bad idea for a plethora of reasons from what I've been reading, including having trouble when signing up as a seller on platforms ranging from Etsy to Steam, despite the IRS saying you generally** must use your own SSN. Its almost like the IRS is trying to make this small detail as confusing as possible for smLLC's. 😡😩 I elected to use my LLC's EIN. This video was helpful! It answered one question I had, but I'm looking for more info. I hope you can help. My wife and I had an LLC. The attorney who set it up used my SSN for the TIN. We changed the partnership and removed me from the LLC. I don't want my SSN to be used as the TIN, but instead would like to use a EIN. Can my wife just apply for a new EIN number or is there something she would need to do to change from my SSN to an EIN? Thank you!

Are TIN (Tax Identification Number) and EIN (Employer Identification Number) the same thing? A business would use the EIN but what about a trust or an estate?

What if there is no “physical work” can I register my primary LLC in a different state than the one I live in if the products are digital & all of the work is remote? I would be using my register agents address for my company.

It’s interesting to me that you use a plumber as an example for needing an LLC instead of a PLLC. At least in Indiana, you need a license to do any type of plumbing. I’m assuming this would technically require a PLLC then?
