Hello everyone..,Apparently someone has hacked into my google account and making inappropriate comments...Just know that it is not me if it is rude...I'm working to fix it..Sorry for the inconvenience.
Just started watching today, after me and the kids found alot of pottery shards here in lower S.C. would live to get a quick lesson on these points, like info on these names you have for these points. I have no knowledge of this subject. The pottery had little designs on the pcs we found. Very interesting
Hey Bud! Incredible point for me at 4:30!!! Congrats on that find! God have mercy on the next point as well! Good show of it all! Mississippi has some great points!
GLAD TO HEAR YOU STILL PLAN TO LOOK AND VIDEO FOR ARROWHEADS I USE TO LIVE IN GLOSTER MS. NOW LIVE IN NORTH MS.USE TO HUNT WITH MY DAD BACK IN 60S LOVE TO WATCH YOUR VIDES BRING BACK LOTS OF MEMORIES
It took me a lot of years of trial and error lol....knowing where to go and when to go there.,on top of being diligent..pays large dividends. Glad you enjoy the vids.
Thanks Cliff.....we got some real good rains.,so I'll be walking back in there real soon.....I got a feeling something real good is gonna surface in those ditches...Good luck to you
Thanks Hugh....generally., people think of an arrowhead as something that the Indians several hundred years ago used....I want people to know the true age of this stuff...it's mind blowing
Some one is using my pic and username somehow...I dunno how RUclips is letting this happen...he's using a lower case t in Theditchwalker.....I have reported him and blocked him from my channel...I hope. Sorry for the inconvenience my friend
Heck yeah man! Always look forward to seeing your vids pop up! That Greenbriar is a beauty! Very cool multi color. Those sandy creeks sure are good to you...glad the other dudes doesn't get in there! Good luck man!
Thanks Rocky Top....I think I'm on to something in these new feeders lol...I'm blessed to live in an area where the points don't get banged around too much because of the clay and sand...plus the colors here. Thanks for your comments
Very high quality video. I've seen all of your vids and the Flint Creek point in this one is one of my favorites. For some reason, the green tablet was my all-time favorite so far.
Thanks a lot Jacob...I'm tellin ya...there's no telling what you will walk up on here in North Mississippi creeks and feeders....The small feeders where no one hunts are my favorite. Thanks for commenting.,glad you enjoyed.
I'm up here close to St. Louis, Missouri. I mainly search for pre-Civil War metal artifacts among bedrock, but I've found a few nice points, etc. My best Native American find was a large drilled hematite plummet. I'm close to the Mississippi river south of Cahokia, so who knows what is still out there. The only way to find out is to do like you and get out there. Keep up the great work!
Hi, Ditchwalker. My son and I love your posts. We're up here in Ohio, and we're always on the hunt for points. Love your videos; we learn a lot. Thanks for posting them!
Hello from Indiana! Your videos are very, very inspiring! I am lucky enough to have grown up in the country where I have a go to creek for fossils and the occasional arrowhead, though not of the quantity and size you find. I do have several that I would like to shoot some pics of and send them to you if maybe you could help identify them. You seem extremely knowledgeable and a genuinely nice guy. Thanks for the videos!
+Theditchwalker How long does it take to learn all the types of points and where do you get the info? Thank you SO MUCH for sharing your finds with all of us. Greatly appreciated! *Blessings and Happy Hunting!*
Years...when I was a young boy I wanted to learn what each type I found was...I studied a lot of books...Overstreet Arrowheads are good for beginners....I still use it today....You are very welcomed Becky...I hope people enjoy them as much as I like making and sharing them...Blessings to you
I am in Northeastern Mississippi. Thanks my friend.,glad you enjoy..I'm planning on making this a regular show starting sometime this fall hopefully ....I've had many request to do so.See you soon
great finds man glad to see you posting video again. keep it up man. Did you see my gold coin I found while looking for arrowheads. 2 weeks after finding the gold coin I went back to the same spot with my metal detector and found a 1583 O half dime
Please make more videos soon please I really enjoy them. Especially the panning the rivers mud for arrow heads cause you can never see what your Gonna get. I miss your videos
New sub...im new to relic hunting have yet to find anything...down here in Florida I always encounter snakes/gators..hopefully I find something soon..happy hunting
True statement!! My boat is in the shop for electrical issues and my buddy Joel just busted his propeller while we were out making our video last weekend. Talk about luck, two boats out of commission
Hey I'm from Alabama love seeing all these jasper point 90% of what I find is Tallahada quartsite live your videos man make it look easy spotting these points
Thanks Clayton ..I find a piece of Tallahatta every now and then....Aahaha.,we both know it's not that easy to an untrained eye...thanks for commenting
What is it that you find makes for a better ditch than others? I have been at it for years now in PA and I dont have much luck on our known main creeks, even at creek junctions with history record im lucky to find one a year. I want to start trying smaller ditches and im wondering if you have any input. Im at the foothills of the Pocono mtns so my terrain is described as woodland hills.. Thanks for the effort you put into sharing with others here!!
Yes.,if I were you I would get to the smaller streams. I think you should look for streams running off main creek bottoms....streams that have a good increase in elevation...or long running streams that run against ridge lines. The reason this works so well is the archaic period was a time of water levels receding over a period of thousands of years..this increases the chances of these streams hitting sites and eroding them into the stream. In a nutshell.,hunt streams that have good variations of elevation.Hope this helps...good luck
Yeah.,you have to watch who you take to your spots. The few that do hunt with me respect other peoples spots and won't go back unless invited....I do the same...😊...Good luck
I have been playing around with napping and stumbled onto your channel and was completely blown away by the number, variety and quality of the points you have found, amazing collection you must have. I was wondering why there is such a high concentration, is it that the points ended in the creek from hunting fish like salmon or have they been washed into the creeks from surrounding area?
There's a lot of things that come into play on this subject..many creeks were part of old sloughs that have been drained in more Modern times...creeks have changed courses over the millennia...you must realize that the early archaic period was a much wetter climate than what we see today. Where there are dry areas presently.,could have been abundant water then...creeks..,especially the feeder creeks than run into higher elevation have good chances of running through sites...everything that washes and erodes out of the banks.,and we're talking as much as 10,000 years plus of strata layers being eroded through.,wind up in the creek deposits...
great finds man. your videos inspired me to start artifact hunting. my first day out in my home state i found a stone axe and was wondering if anyone could tell me an era it came from. thanks again for the inspiration!
Hi, ditchwalker! My son, Henry, just wanted to make sure you’re okay! He’s been waiting for next post. Hope all’s well, and we look forward to seeing your next finds. Be well.
yall inspired me to start huntin myself. found some nice half broken points in a nearby field but I've yet to find any in the creeks around. I'm in Franklin county virginia. I've read that my area has a rich history of native Americans . any pointers on how I should go about finding some more spots
Glad you enjoy.I've been hunting and studying rocks since I was 10...I am now 42.Been hunting creeks about 23 years.I do not keep a lot of rocks in my collection..I sell to two or three collector buddies that travel around and display to the public like they should be.Rite now.,I have all of what I've found in the past two years
I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoy your videos. I didn't even realize there are arrowhead hunting videos until a couple of months ago. I live in West Central Illinois, but I just started to seriously hunt for artifacts, arrowheads, etc. In your video, "Arrowhead Hunting: Feeder Fever" you show a roundish stone, but don't explain what it is Will you please tell me what it is? Thanks again for the quality, family friendly videos!
Wondering what you look for geographically when your looking for areas that would potentially produce points and artifacts? I live in Minnesota and I never am able to find anything that has the quality that you find? I do find all kinds of nice stone tools but never the points you find? Do woodland tribes have points and bentons like you come across?
I look for streams that run along ridgelines or ones that run from a creek bottom into higher elevation...water levels were much higher in the archaic period so often times artifacts will be located up on the first and second flood terraces from the creek bottom.Streams that run through these areas better your chances of finding relics. There are some good points from the woodland period.,but Bentons are from the middle archaic. Hope this helps
I like to hunt smaller feeder creeks off a main creek bottom...as these feeders climb in elevation that run through flood terraces. Flood terraces are different ancient water levels which is where ancient man camped.Where there is no water today may have been abundant water 5,000 years ago. A good idea is to study the topographics in your area and hunt tributaries that come off of higher ground to a creek bottom.Hope this helps
Hey there Mason....artifacts are literally just about everywhere...you can bet that there rite there around you. The best advice I could give to you is get a topographical map or use an app on your phone to see the creeks and feeder creeks in your area.I prefer smaller streams that run into or against higher ground.,if the stream floor is visible.,your probably going to find artifacts.. Always get permission...hope this helps
Make it during deer season and I'd book a combo hunt 😃. Seriously man i love the videos and so does my son. We been on them points here in northwest Ga, gotta couple creeks lined up to sift because of watching you. Keep the videos coming, we've watched em all.
I live in Tupelo also. Any creek on the area..take your pick. The trick is hunting in the winter time when there is more water flow and no algae or silt

Hey Ditchwalker, love the videos. What do the terms killer and smoker mean. Thanks in advance.

yall inspired me to start huntin myself. found some nice half broken points in a nearby field but I've yet to find any in the creeks around. I'm in Franklin county virginia. I've read that my area has a rich history of native Americans . any pointers on how I should go about finding some more spots

heck of a creek
These ditches have been good to me and I think they're far from done
Any chance you are still gonna give me some tips on creek hunting and digging?
What state did you say you were in...?
Oklahoma
Is that an arrowhead at the right pointing to the one you picked up? (the first one you picked up).
I'm sure I would have saw it...if it was it's gone now with all this rain we're getting
In my area of Mississippi a lot of creeks cross under the roads. Can you legally walk these creeks?
With permission from the landowner(s)...yes
Hey guy where you at waiting for more great videos
I will be back soon...Thank you
Beautiful
Thank you Dena....thanks for commenting
Killin it
Been kind of quiet lately brother, everything good?
All is well...I'll be back on soon. Thanks for asking
Theditchwalker 👍
How do you find places that produce arrowheads?
I like to hunt smaller feeder creeks off a main creek bottom...as these feeders climb in elevation that run through flood terraces. Flood terraces are different ancient water levels which is where ancient man camped.Where there is no water today may have been abundant water 5,000 years ago. A good idea is to study the topographics in your area and hunt tributaries that come off of higher ground to a creek bottom.Hope this helps
Theditchwalker thanks
Any current videos out there that I'm not seeing?

Thanks man
Wht do they all end up in that stream???

Hello. Im 14 yrs old and i live in mississippi, i was wondering if you know any places in Bogue chitto i could hunt for artifacts?
Hey there Mason....artifacts are literally just about everywhere...you can bet that there rite there around you. The best advice I could give to you is get a topographical map or use an app on your phone to see the creeks and feeder creeks in your area.I prefer smaller streams that run into or against higher ground.,if the stream floor is visible.,your probably going to find artifacts.. Always get permission...hope this helps
Man you could seriously start charging for "guided" arrowhead hunts. I'd book one!
I have had several opportunities....I think that would get pretty hectic lol...thanks for commenting
Make it during deer season and I'd book a combo hunt 😃. Seriously man i love the videos and so does my son. We been on them points here in northwest Ga, gotta couple creeks lined up to sift because of watching you. Keep the videos coming, we've watched em all.
Sir, are you actually located in Mississippi?
Yes.,I live in the Tupelo area
I have a few points that my late brother found when we were kids, living in the Wesson, MS. area in the late 50's. Would you like to see some pics?
I live in tupelo Mississippi and don't know where any creeks are can I get some tips
I live in Tupelo also. Any creek on the area..take your pick. The trick is hunting in the winter time when there is more water flow and no algae or silt
