An awesome bunch of artifacts Joseph! Congratulations! You know I'm not the best point typist around but I would say that's a Boggy Branch all day long.
Thanks Spike and gang.....I do believe it is.....Best of luck ya'll
Thank you for uploading new videos Ditchwalker! Your channel is the best arrowhead hunting channel on RUclips - never change... keep doing what you do we love it! 👍
Still my favorite channel for points. Outstanding 👍🏼
I appreciate it Greg
Man, you have some fabulous eyes to find all them points. Makes me wonder how many points I’ve overlooked in my lifetime!
Nice lance points.I find a of of guilford Lance's here and a few yumas?also that looks like a boggy variant I bought 2 from dennis B.from Henry co .Alabama made of coastal p ln ain chert.nice variety of points keep videos coming Joseph
Appreciate it Billy....I Know Dennis......Will do.. Good luck
nice video!!! you've inspired us.. Potter County Diggers are going to walk some creeks and check some gravel bars this week while we still have all this snow on the ground...
Thank you....I shot you a sub....Cheers
That second lance set the sirens off! You are doing justice to that area! Great salvage efforts! Cheers!
Thank you my friend...Cheers
Boogy Branch type 1 all day long...killer point brother. Yes they say you are out of the area but that is one no doubt.
Congratulations my friend
Keep em coming
Thanks Scott I appreciate it....Good luck
I'm not familiar with that point here in Arkansas but it looked like a wide based beaver tail point to me.
Good to see you out there. I’ll take lances all day myself. Great vids, great pieces . Keep them coming. Huge fan . Always ready for the next one to come out
Thanks a lot Tom....I really appreciate it
Here in missouri every leaf looks like a point
Hahaha it's the same here at times....we get so much rain that it sweeps them clean in the winter months though
J4YBONE Yep,,,i always say the best ones i ever found floated down the creek,,😂
Haha I know how you feel, southern Iowa here.
haha they do here in mississippi too
The worst is seeing a nice “point” (leaf) in deep cold water. Once was enough for me to remember to always have a pole or shovel with me to check first.
Great Video! I like playing in creeks myself! Killer Lance's!! Good luck and be Safe!
Thanks Joe...Good luck back at ya
Almost looks like a cache of lances washed out somewhere? Cool finds just keep coming out of those ditches! Did you check that bottle out that was under the Boggy Branch point at 06:32? Take care and continued good luck.
That or a late archaic lance site.....I did...no good.....Thanks and Good luck to you David
Really good to see ya putting some footprints out Ditch Walker. Got my mind wondering if any of the red jasper I find here in central Indiana come from your way. I'd bet it safe to say some did find a trade rout here. The Lancet are slam'n cool.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Eric...I'm always putting footprints out...just don't always find things lol......I'm sure it did...it is very abundant here
@@Theditchwalker ohhhh. I understand not finding. Being out of the the house is just as fun. Getting a few odds and ends nothing to post. Got some clay square pieces with symbols that I been trying to find info on 3 days. About to drive me nuts.
Thanks.
There he is!!!!! Hey DitchWalker, I work with a girl in Corinth named Heather who said she was your cuz.. I found a dovetail drill cache last week and few more odd ends, was showing her and she said my cuz does that and has RUclips channel. I said Ditchwalker and she said YES!!!!
Oh really..?....lol...yep that is one of my cousins....man.,I'd like to see those
Maybe I can figure out how to post a pic on here. I been tearing them creeks up from Iuka to Savannah here lately!!! And found 2 new dig sites, they have really been producing!!!!! @ditchwalker
Great finds, thank you for sharing!
Thank you...my pleasure
In middle of winter it's very cool to watch some pick up an arrowhead, love watching someone find them but I got a few good spots. Cabin fever now. Great videos .
Winter is Prime time in North Mississippi....good water flow from plentiful rains keeps the creeks flushed....in late spring and summer they will silt over and you won't find a flake..unless of course.,you know where to dig..🙂....That cabin fever is not for me lol...I'll stay in the south.....appreciate your comments
Cracking finds keep up
Nice finds, Nice Soggy boggy!!
Thank you
This is the most fascinating channel I’ve seen.
Thanks Mike
This is my favorite pass time. Looks like your killing it .✌
Appreciate it....I'm doing pretty good.....::)
Lots of awesome finds man! Pretty sweet cashe of lances. Hope you find more of them. Take care my friend and good luck on your future hunts!
Love your style of hunting man! Wish we had creeks like that here in middle Tennessee
Thanks Michael.....I would've thought mid Tennessee would be ripe for the picken
Theditchwalker I do most my hunting on the river and your right I do find some killers from time to time but like this time of year rivers up to high to hunt so I wish I had some creeks to hop off into! Check my video on my page I have a compilation of past several points I’ve found! What state you hunting in?
North Mississippi....Tupelo area
Awesome finds!!!!
Real good finds
Thanks my friend
nice finds, i got out monday for the first time in a while trying out my new knee. i got wet but it was worth it, i pulled out a thin 4 inch fort payne benton. i have found a few boggy branch points here in pontotoc co so i kinda think we are in the edge of that point type area.
Thanks Danny....I heard that...4 inch bentons are hard to come by.....That's good to know that you have found boggy branches in Pontotoc co...…..
these days 4 inch anythings are hard to come by, see you at the tupelo show if you make that.
@@Theditchwalker
Looks like a boggy to me!! And a killer at that. What a great hunt. Keep on keepin on!
Thanks my friend...Will do
I live in the UK and I am addicted to watching your channel, fantastic. Thank you
I appreciate it Terry....My pleasure
Hard work, and glad to see it payoff. I dig it as in like what your doing. And, thank you for sharing. Stay awesome.
Nice finds, good luck in your honey hole👍🏻
Thank you and good luck to you
You have awesome eagle eyes! Wish you could walk the creek by our homestead in iowa. Your eyes may catch something mine aren't
Why are they there? From huntin that creek and didnt retrieve their arrow or spear? Or thats where the prey died? Ive never found any points but scrapers and tools that fit your hand and all polished smooth on the scrape cause it broke edge
They eroded from the bank out of campsites
Que buen encuentro .. nice place nice artifacts
That's a nice boggy branch and they are generally found in South Alabama , Georgia and Florida . But I found one from North Alabama made of a nearly black flint . They are obviously found in other places .
Thanks Bama...That is nice to know...Good luck out there
Awesome lances. Wonder if they are part of a cache ? Always cool to check out your channel my friend
Thank you....either a cache or a late archaic lance site....Best of luck to you
Man you found some killers. Thanks for the share
Thank you Jake...My pleasure
Sweet! Beautiful!!
Love tour videos man taught me a lot already
thats a petrified birch leaf where i am from... nice find lol
i meant beech leave but both look like a damn arrowhead in indiana
Oh, killer bottle sweetener
They always look good sitn with points somewhere.
They sure do..! Thanks Eric
@@Theditchwalker my wife confascates mine soon as I come in with them.
Got 6in rain in couple days last spring. Hit a small archaic site. Found more old bottles than points. Got a nice Indiana flint Lancet off it year's ago. Most that comes off it is fossil chert. A small creek 4-500yrd from it full of that material.
Thanks for your time budy.
Cool finds, mustve been a camp in the area..
I'm in ikua Mississippi... I know I'm in the artifact backyard... 👂 Any areas brother?
Amazing as always!
Thank you Terese
I had a nice type 2 .. found all the way in ne Alabama. Good saves.
That bottle i believe was Slapahoe tribe maybe
Dude you keep killin it. Love your stuff man and what a score!!! All of them but that is absolutely a Boggy Branch type one without a doubt!! Keep rockin bro!!!! Peace!
I appreciate it Dick
That is a nice bottle
Thank you
Take a drink everytime he sniffs! lol just messing with ya. nice vid
Nice points, KEEP IT ROCKIN BRO!!!
Sure will....Good luck ya'll
My guy!
Thanks Drake
Just shows how much they traveled. Like that Apple creek looking point. Really if you think about it you could walk from North Mississippi to Missouri in like a week or two.
Killer points man!!!!! Killer points!!!! Love your Vids!!!!!🤙🤙🙏🙏
Thank you much David
Wow that's Cool 👀😮 holy Cow 💪😎💯🔥🍺🦅
Thank you...thanks for commenting
Great hunts brother!! Some really sweet finds! Man there has got to be a cache of lance points washing out from somewhere close by. Both of those in this vid looked like the same jasper and the fourth one in that spot. Wouldn’t shock me to see more turn up there!! Awesomeness buddy!! ATB and HH!! Btw, u planning on making the show in Meridian in February?
Appreciate it ya'll…..Yeah.,I expect more lances from that spot....yes...I will be there....Best of luck and see yall soon
Theditchwalker Good deal brother!! See ya there!! 👍
I bought me a metal detecting scoop and it helps to get to base pan in the creeks.
I heard that....that's where they are..!..Good luck
I know this video is 2 years old but its awesome. I was wondering if you'd answer a question. Does the tide affect the creeks on the Mississippi like the rivers toward the gulf?
No.
Nice finds. Up here if you find sonething your supposed to call a government guy to come xnd get it
Thank you....I couldn't live there lol
sweeeeet jasper blade......
blades......like that flaking
Thanks my friend
Yes sir that's a boggy.
Outstanding brother! You interested in a trade situation? I’d love a good jasper point from ya. I make some cool bottle openers with points and deer antler if you’re a beer drinker.👍🇺🇸
Sounds good
Theditchwalker Do you have an e-mail or if you’re on right now I can give my number then delete it right quick
Where are you hurting??? I'm from Mississippi I'd love to check out and learn from the master great work
I hunt Lee.,prentiss and Itawamba counties...thanks for commenting
@@Theditchwalker
You think there's any reason to hunt union county I'm from
New Albany ,MS
Definitely...some good stuff in union county
Is the Jasper very common in your local? I've never seen one like the Soggy Branch before it's beautiful!
Yes.,Jasper is very abundant here...the main colors are a wide array of reds and oranges...among other colors......Thanks Gina
@@Theditchwalker thanks. I'm trying to determine if Jasper can be found in abundance in the south. We don't have many rock hounds around my parts that I can learn from.
I am in the south......what part of the south are you in...?
@@Theditchwalker Fannin Co. Ga. North Ga Mnts. Blue Ridge
lotta quartz...?
i think each lance was a unfinished Clovis they have the right shape and thickness waiting to be fluted
Looks like a Boggy Branch to me. I have a Llano from Brantley Co. Jawja that is supposed to be found in West Texas or East New Mexico.
Always wondered if people who know how to, cleared up some of it's ills", what it'd turn into? Rocks Cousteau picks up whole bricks to use. That was first I'd seen that happen. I understand about carrying alot of weight, I guess! lol
Do you ever find any savannah rivers?
No.,they are not common at all in this area
Definitely a lance cache, but I'd like to think a mammoth ran off and later died with 5 lances stuck in him :) if only those pointy rocks could talk!
HEY ditch walker have you ever found a wolf head?
I have heard alot about you, im working in Mississippi this week if ya want a tag along lol
Lol...what part you working in..?
Just north of meridian
Columbus MS to be exact
I know virtually nothing about points & artifacts. And a California kid, I don’t always understand the accent! 😆😉
That said... what are the “debutides” you speak of?
Debitage.....ancient trash...flint flakes.,fire rock and other fire pit materials.
Theditchwalker thanks! And thanks for the videos! Great finds, getting me stoked to go try to find some local California MiWok points myself!
Wish we could do this in FL.
👍👍👍✌️
Man about 2:00/2:05 there’s a rock with a hole in it. I bet that was an artifact maybe a Fluting rock?
I will check that out....Thanks Terry
👍🏻👌🏻
Here in Massachusetts we are pretty much a big block of granite and there is no really suitable stone for napping. I do have a bud who has found some great points of non native material. Apparently the savages had well established systems of trade and barter.. History is so twisted. When the Mayflower landed in Plymouth they quickly ran into Squanto who spoke English perfectly and had lived in England for 8 years. So what is it the pilgrims did? Truth be told they were making beer.
Looks like a point at 1:37 top left & 1:51 red in color.
I will check that out....Thank you
why would so many lances be in one spot?
Late archaic lance making site is a good possibility
Finding gold in creeks and what to look for
What are you filming with ?
Galaxy note 9 android.
It's the best camera and video you can get on a cell phone.
Top left looks like an arrowhead @8:18
Is it rare to find stone artifacts from less than a thousand years ago? Say, like just before the Europeans came to the New World? I never see a video about a point or tool found that may have been from just prior to the Columbus era. Were there just much fewer artifacts to discover from that time in history?
@aklat
By and large and generally speaking.... The bow and arrow came into widespread use about one thousand years ago in the new world... they say. The need for atlatl sized dart points gave way to smaller "bird points" as the new technology caught on.
Many cultures and millennia had come and gone before the time of the bow. This would explain why you find more older (archaeic, woodland etc.) stuff than relics from more recent or even historical times. I'd say most of the larger points/blades found that roughly coincide with Columbian times weren't projectile points at all, but rather knives, utilitarian, ceremonial or otherwise.
I live in Texas, and have found many many points, scrapers, tools and stone artifacts of all descriptions... precious few are younger than a thousand years old.
Yeah during the mississippian time period like the other guy commented most of your "bird" points would have came from that time period
dovetail!
You planted all of thesee
Your funny
How come every point you find is full😂
Because I know what people do and don't want to see lol.....I find broke ones too lol...I don't care to show them
You need to get yourself a Tater Rake.
It would be tough in that sandy stream
@@Theditchwalker I was thinking in the gravel.
Hey
Hey boy....hey are you doing..?
Nothing much what you doing I gave you a subscribe
Thanks I appreciate it....did your mom tell you that you were going hunting with me..??
What tribe of Indians made these ?
This was before named tribes...these were made in the archaic and woodland periods
Great finds!
Thanks I appreciate it Fannie
