In some areas, 15’-18’ of water ran over the town with violent turbulence.

The hurricane is a reaction that represents one of the most destructive phenomena in nature, even more so when global warming is directly involved in the formation of this climate, more extreme every year.

So sad. I live on Bonita Beach....well I lived on Bonita Beach until this storm took our home and both our cars. We didn't evacuate and it was truly scary. We are lucky to be alive. We were on our second floor with water shooting up like a geyser. We could have died.
Glad you are okay and hope you can rebuild your lives 🙏 So sorry for what you've gone through. I visited Fort Myers beach from Ireland . I was staying in Cape Coral. Such a beautiful place on earth. Hope as another poster said that you guy's can build back better and stronger. 🫂

I know how bad these hurricanes can get. I live in Florida. Ian was my 9th hurricane. As long as you are fully prepared, and keep your cool, and *DON'T PANIC* , you can survive.

Martha’s Vineyard couldn’t even take 50 people. Florida takes in millions of immigrants so stop it. Spanish is required to get by in south Florida. Desantis sent them there to expose the hypocrisy of rich liberal elites who want to be charitable with other peoples money but refuse to help these people themselves. There are limits as to how many people each state can help. There’s only so much funding to go around.. The southern states can’t take everyone. If northern elitist want this they can take their fare share too. Martha’s Vineyard is very wealthy and has plenty of housing, these rich people just didn’t want you house poor people for free, they want to rent out those places for thousands of dollars each, even though they are millionaires already.
