    First, I have to say I love your channel. Women in trucking although not uncommon shows a different side of female fortitude. I'm glad you are one of those. I also love the images of your child's seat in the shotgun position. I know he, Remi, is the light of your life and I bet he loves to ride in the truck with Mom. :) :) The sight of the dump truck with an equally impressive dump trailer is something that is very uncommon in Georgia, where I live. We normally see long dump triple axle trucks coming out of the granite quarry nearby. I look forward to watching your future vids and also looking back at previous vids. Thanks for all the work you put into creating these vids for us.

    Here's where a little engine/mechanical savvy could often save half the day. Recognizing radiator temp differential is impressive, great start!
    Simple things 1st:
    is coolant topped up and what can I use to get by if not? (distilled water if possible or coolant bottles onboard?... but I'd pore Gatorade or pee in radiator if needed, flush it later) Can I mechanically safely drive 10 or 15 minutes between cooling down to get it to a better place? Good oil temp gage to make sure not thermally damaging engine?

    Just another reason I called my '74 KW W-900 single screw day-cab w/4 bagger (air shocks) on the drive axle w/air dump switch so I could get under a belly dump set [they don't have landing gear, just close the gates and place some dunnage (4x4's, 6x6's and 3 by heavy's under it and unhook) that had been parked by someone that had 22" rims and not 24.5's], adjustable 2 bagger w/gage on the steer axle, small cam 400 Cummins and an Eaton-Fuller Road Ranger 13 speed that I used as a Puller for double bottoms, "A hole in the road I poured money into". But, trust me on this, There is nothing that can replace the pride of ownership. (Something, apparently Lord Gavin is Hell bent on eliminating with Calipornia's latest series of onerous rules and regulations on big rigs. Instead of "Let them eat cake", its, "Let them go to work for a big company" - like the rest of the peons implied. Look for this to come to your state and then the rest of the nation next. "Too much Schedule-C tax deductin' amongst the independent minded masses a'goin on there".)
    P.S.: Old truckers never die, we just grab another gear. :)😊

    I hope your using ethylene glycol instead of OAT coolant. We tried using the OAT coolant on some of our pre DPF engines and it started eating away at the solder and the gaskets of the radiators and valves on the engine. Found it to be corrosive rather than a protective component for cooling. We bought some 2017 Petes that came with the red OAT coolant so we’ll continue to use it in those trucks until the warranties are expired but it still damaged the head gasket on the compressor. Not a fan of OAT coolant. Best of luck.

    • @soganoflarider

      Propylene glycol is what some mega’s run. Non-corrosive and environmentally friendly. I recently had an inframe rebuild done on my ‘17 579 and put it in. The ONLY downside is that it’s not easily available everywhere.

    • @refusemech
      @refusemech Год назад +1

      I have to make an update on my comment. The red OAT coolant is ethylene glycol but I found it to be corrosive on the older trucks and copper radiators and tank gaskets. We switched to a blue EG coolant after replacing radiators that were only two years old. I noticed when this red stuff dries it crystallizes like DEF. Not so environmentally friendly if you ask me.

    How would you feel if you lost the diamond in your diamond ring cause that's going to happen to you. Swinging hammers and working hard all day with your hands they never stop moving your ring setting is really not built for that. Put that beauty up and just wear a cheap band for work. It will save you alot of expensive heartache. Good Luck I enjoy your videos.
