A lot of photography guys don't seem to know about bolt sizes. As a for-instance, the threaded hole on the bottom of all cameras and camcorders is 1/4-20, which simply mean 1/4 inch outside diameter, 20 threads per inch. Then the length is stated.
This information always appears on the package or box when you buy fasteners. But be particular about the "20" part in this instance. There are fine threads and coarse threads in almost all bolt sizes--and of course metric--so be sure you're getting what you want.
By the way, it's not a screw, or anything but a bolt. Say "1/4 by 20 bolt" and the nice man will give you exactly what you want. Except that he'll ask you "how long?" but that's how hardware store guys are.
NOTE: it's 1/4 by 20 for cameras and camcorders, but I don't know that light and flash fixtures have the same kind of mount. Do as the vid instructs and take a sample with you, then you'll know.

I like it however I see where I would drill the grips so they slide over a boom like an actual "Justin" clamp and add the Manfrotto small ball head, otherwise the only thing I see this good for if you would have something to clamp to.
