@shortsharpreviews: Thank you for a short and sharp review! LOL! seriously, it's so rare to find a good review that is straight to the point! thanks for that :)
Yes, and I'm still using ccd Canon G12. Hardly any cams use ccd these days. Probably not severe jello effect on the LX7. Only a pro F55 $ony has jello free cmos. Very tempted to buy an LX7.
Thanks, it's quite a subtle effect that might be masked over by the You Tube compression, I will run some more tests wight he camera in manual modes and see if it still happens. I suspect that the IA mode during filming is switching something like digital noise reduction on and off . . . .
Great review. I am surprised to see the price drop so low. Its the best and most affordable camera yet. I am selling my GF5 and getting this thats for sure. Just too much hassle on holidays changing lens etc.
Hi Simon. Sounds like you're on the right track with your theory but I couldn't say without seeing it (and then I may still not be able to say, but I'll have a go). Any chance you could upload an example to RUclips?
I don't remember specifically noticing it, but as far as I know it's unavoidable on CMOS sensors - which means virtually all higher-quality compact cameras these days.
Your reviews are the best! How do you think the LX7 stacks against the Sony Rx100 and Canon G1X? Do you think these compacts can compare with an Olympus EPL3 or Sony Nex 5 or Canon EOS 650D? Many thanks :)
Thanks for that, nice review, I have a question: I just bought the LX7 and have found that shooting a movie in the IA mode sometimes produces an effect during shooting the clip (usually as it refocuses) where there is a slightly 'digitized' look, perhaps some kind of processing or edge sharpening is kicking in? other parts of the same clip look great but I'm wondering whats causing this occasional 'processed' look and how to switch off whatever it might be . . . . . Great camera!

Yes, autofocus is silent, and the zoom motor is pretty quiet too - only audible in very quiet scenes.

Is the video auto focus for the LX7 silent? Might be a great replacement for what I use on my tech unboxings and interviews.
Best reviews about mirrorles cameras. Thank you so much...
love the review. quick and straight to the point. minimal opinion and objective; i like it!

Does it really fit in jeans pockets? I can't find one in stores anywhere and pocketability is very important for me.
