R33 GTR RB26 Cambelt change

- Just a quick look at what i did while doing my cambelt change on the gtr. I you have any questions about anything i may have left out just ask in a comment. if you follow my instagram you will notice i have done a lot to the car since and that is because this was filmed about 6 months ago and its running perfect with no issues as far as an update after this video is concerned.

FairPlay Gary great job on polishing that cam cover too. A head cam holder would have been a gift doing a job like that keeping your 2 hands free. Look forward to more content
It came out better than expected, yeah I thought about a cam holder but tbh they didn't move at all so I was lucky with that.
Man, I got the mechanic to do mine along with a new water pump. The water pump then broke only 50 ks later. Had some headaches with him after that but if I'd seen this vid before I would have done the job myself... DOH!! Left me a little confused about the process specifically regarding the tensioner pully, still great vid👍

Would be good to include torque settings for tensioner bolts and balancer assembly. Also it's generally good maintenance to do water pump whilst in there. Not sure if RB26 have cam seals too?
Get a timing light and check your timing, it could be out by a few degrees! Also why not do the water pump why your at it?
Yeah I got the timing checked at the local garage with there light gun but no adjustment was needed , the water pump I had to replace 2 years ago anyway due to a leak so I figured it was good to stay on .
@@dickoR33 Ok cool. Just done this job my self recently. Did you set the belt tension on the alt/water pump and pas? The figures are in the manual and save the belts coming off or damaging the bearing! Great video by the way.
@@AwesomeFPV I set the belts the way I usually do as in by how much you can twist them but I didn't use the manual to be honest for the belt tension. This video was filmed last year though and I haven't lost one yet. Took me like 6 months to get around to editing lol .

I didn’t notice it at first but my mum was like Annabelle look and I was like omg mum it’s a skyline gtr. She knows how much I like them. Thanks again Garry
