- Komal Nishad had organized Yaman Utsav in November 2019. The concept was to have renowned artists showcase their interpretation of Raag Yaman for the first half of their performance and then move on to other raagas. It was a three-day festival where we had Shri Purbayan Chatterjee's performance on the second day. There are four parts to this concert.
Part 1- Raag Yaman Aalap Jod,
Part 2- Raag Yaman Gat
Part 3- Raag Gunji Kanada
Part 4- Raag Mishra Shivranjini.

We are not upset about it. We have started this journey of uploading all of our Komal Nishad videos on RUclips, with the purpose of giving something to the people who like this kind of art. It surprises us too sometimes, to notice the number of views on the videos of some maestros, but we pacify ourselves by thinking that music is different for the masses and different for the classes. So long as we are still enjoying making the videos and uploading it and audiences like you enjoy watching it, I think we are all good.... 🙏🙂

You may also enjoy the bandishes sung by Ashwini ji in Yaman in the same Utsav... the madhyala bandishes are very very beautiful.

No Gharana teaches, Yaman and Yaman Kalyan to be the same Raga, specially Senia Maihar Gharana... The Chalan of both of the ragas are played diferently. Since both the ragas comes from the Kalyan thaat, they are played differently intentionally so that both of them holds their own place in the family ... Anyways... instead of setting into these controversies let's just enjoy the music.. I dont know, why these lectures were necessary ...

I know of a lot of people in the audience, who are not formally educated in classical music, who really appreciate when artists give their two cents about the raaga or the instrument. But honestly, as you said, why get into controversies, Komal Nishad is here only to organize more and more beautiful concerts which will touch people's heart.
