- Ustad Shahid Parvez ji performing for Komal Nishad in 1997. He was accompanied by Pt. Vijay Ghate ji. This is a very memorable concert for Komal Nishad and for our Vadodara audiences. The raagas performed were
Part 1 - Raag Yaman Aalap
Part 2 - Raag Yaman Gat
Part 3 - Raag Shyam Kalyan
Part 4 - Raag Darbari
Part 5 - Raag Shahana - Suha Sughrai
Part 6 - Raag Hameer - Hamsadhwani
Part 7 - Dhun
Since the recording is very old, you may find that the audio quality is not the best at many places and also a bit of lag between the audio and the video. We've done our best to publish the best version we could. Since it is a 1997 concert, and the technology used at that time, was different, we are hopeful that our audiences will excuse the video quality in this series.
Thank you I am a new sitar student and this is helping me.

What a beautiful rendition! What a joy to listen to Ustad Shahid Parvez! Thank you so much for sharing this.
A small request: Please rename Yaman with Yaman Kalyan in the video title. Ustad Ji uses both the Tivra and Shuddha variants of Madhyam, making it Yaman Kalyan. He announces the same at the beginning of his recital. This will prevent any potential confusion that a new listener might have. Thank you!
Namaste Kishan ji, thanks for the wonderful comment. Yes, it indeed is Yaman Kalyan. Ustadji has played Yaman in the Aalap section and then for the gat he moved on to Yaman Kalyan.
