Great video man, i'm a beginner at djing, no questions were really answered but, i appreciate your will to do a video like this, really cool man keep it up! :D
Cue is otherwise know as PFL (Pre Fade Listen.) Though pretty much whats going on in my headphones while I am playing. Cue has nothing to do with queueing ( the british art of waiting) but more to do with the old days of records and radio where records would have to be set up (cued up) ready to play out and normally would have a few seconds before the start to have the spin up of the deck not affect the playback.
low steppa is indeed a brilliant producer, still stands haha seen him just before lockdown in liverpool, thanks for your videos anyway man, best teacher on youtube, nice and easy going style and tells you in a way thats easy to understand, know its a few years old now but keep them going!
Thank you very much for the first lesson. Your lesson was very easy to understand and was very enjoyable so much so that I didn't realize it was an hour. I am looking forward to future lessons.
Hey man.. Just wanted to thank you for what you do.. I have a question.. How does the DJ mix on track to another when one is faster bmp than the other? Example song 1 is 120bmp track 2 is 124bmp... How does that work.?
Jay3chou3 that part I know, and thank you for your response ..... But I've heard a deep house set ( solomun) one track is pretty mellow and the song that's coming in is a little more hype... And yet it Still is sync! How? The bmp don't match
Frank Grimes you can star the next track after the last break down and let thr build up from the faster bpm pick up from the last one, thats what i do on my mixes
Don Enrique sorry I'm a little new.... Just want to clarify here... Would you start the track and increase the bmp at the same time? Is that what you are saying... Sorry just trying to get some more clarification
the solomun set is all the same BPM, its not because the track is more "hype" that its faster then the previous. Dont listen to these guys telling you to start later after the break, you want to spin deep house? learn how to beatmatch!
@ellaskins i got a problem with working with headphones in the local bar.. i currently work with a laptop instead of a cdj.. because i cant hear my next track when i got the current track on and one of the sub is standing 6 feet behind me... i use the frase bars and the 1,2,3,4 step you explained in other videos.. but is the place i`m standing wrong or do i use the wrong type of head[hone? and i have tried a few diffrent one.. earcovering and plugs etc.. and none of them are isolating the sound when i`m at full blast...
I just bought the ddj400 and I try to listen to the song in my headphones but I just can't. I have the ddj400 connected to the computer speakers I dont know if that have to do something with the problem. but when I try to listen to the song in the headphones I can't
Dj Quietstorm I believe it's because of how anal is RUclips about music... So my guess is that he has permission from him to make these videos... Kinda like DJ City's Mojaxx reviews. He always uses DJ Mega Man's tunes.
I have done mobile dj and audio engineer/producing for a decent length of time and fit was the guy who yeah isn't it obvious. I guess i never thought it wasnt obvious, my cousin is a speed metal drummer so I learned the basics early. I just want to say, I tip my hat. This explained things in a way I could explain it if asked. Had anyone asked before I'm not sure how I would have described it, I guess just say fitting things together for a clean and fluid sound before I send it to the master output. I have to say, I am a new fan. Beginner videos or higher skill level posts im checking them all out. My final year of University was done in Oxford, I am from the states (all over born in Texas, lived in Minnesota, Georgia, Wisconsin, Alabama, N. Carolina, Louisiana, anyway my family are lucht siúil (Tinker, Pikey, Gypo, etc heard them all during my year in England.) But I had primarily worked with hiphop, R&B, country, pop, and the genres that provided small gigs and 4hrs of whatever they tell me they like. It was a learning experience, find new ways to mix when your switching to a completely new Genre. Or manually mixing to prepare for a slow song at a wedding but then they want something with higher bpm. I could have just run a playlist, but the artistic element & creative aspect that drives me, was to make them happy, while still performing. My time going to clubs primarily in London, but also on the continent, and my ancestral homeland (Ireland) put me in these elements of drum and beat compared to techno, I didnt know they where different, i thought style in a genre, but I was informed I was wrong. If your a dj that doesnt work with pure Instrumentals regularly, going to Europe is like a Dj's music induced acid trip, well I think it was the music, disclaimer wasnt aware of any unbecoming behavior consent. I got lucky that I met a ton of dj's that ranged in skill levels, but all completely went out of their way to introduce me to techniques they used, tracks that where their favorites, and network to meet a some of the most open dj's in the world. I'm still not a big techno fan but i see the artistic skill and genius in it. It was 2007, and pre Facebook really being a big deal, so I havent stayed in contact but I am forever grateful for the experience. Learning to mix drum and beat, techno, electronica idk is one of the most effective ways to get the greatest range of technical dj skills. The track diversity, slicing and looping a specific sound, increasing tempo to blend in your next track, then doing it on your way out too. Im horrid at explaining without a controller in front of me. Anyway great video and the topic is great that someone who knows what they are doing, was able to break it down into elements that someone with no experience can understand. Great knowledge to pass on.
Ellaskins thank you for catering to beginner dj's most tutorial DJ channels don't do that anymore
so the dj is listening to the next song to find que but the audience cannot hear it. Correct?
Also adjusting the tempo (pitch) so they match.
all what the dj do with headphones is Beatmatching which is the most important part of being a dj ;)
@@cp7519l7x uhm in my opinion not quite, but ok

Frank Grimes You can change the tempo(bpm) on the controller so that they sync
Jay3chou3 that part I know, and thank you for your response ..... But I've heard a deep house set ( solomun) one track is pretty mellow and the song that's coming in is a little more hype... And yet it Still is sync! How? The bmp don't match
