Why drainage layer?
It keeps the excess water from sitting in the soil and making the substrate soggy
Why charcoal?
It filters the water and prevents odors and bacterial build-up.
Why did I use slow growing plants?
This is a pretty small terrarium so if the plants grow fast they will block a lot of the light for the moss and you would need to do regular maintenance
