I really appreciate this video. A lot of people are scared to talk negativity about products from indie brands, but even indie brands can have dud products too and it's good to know what to avoid.

I think Clionadh’s mattes outside of those palettes are a lot better, their matte singles. I have some of them and they’re incredibly pigmented and blend well.
Tysm for mentioning devinah’s shimmers!! When I first got into indie makeup, I ordered a bunch of plain shimmers and haaaated them. They weren’t even like satins they were just texturizing non-mattes 🤣 I love them as a brand but they really need to reformulate all of those. Their mattes tho are LOVELY and so underrated!

I'm waiting on my first terra moon and kaleidos orders. I got some multichrome eyeshadows from terra moon and the club nebula pallet. Super excited for them.
Clionadh's mattes seem to suffer both in formula and in whatever pressing process they use. They're super pigmented but they are ridiculously fragile - most of them either arrived broken or broke right away when I tried to use them. The problem if anything is that they have too much pigment and not enough binding agents, which combined with the pressing makes them honestly unfit for purpose. They're making some changes though this year, so I am excited to see how much they improve.
I have a theory that we’re going to get a satin trend soon...idk we’ve had the everything matte trend and we’re kind of in a everything glossy/super sparkly moment, so I wonder if the in-between satin will have their moment too lol. I like a subtle shimmer but I can also dig a sparkly look too. 😁
I love working with satins and been lately applying purple and blue satins all over my lids and enjoying them. I really hope your prediction comes true. Easy to work with, don’t make my lids look dry af and sometimes I just don’t feel like a metallic or shimmer.😛
And sometimes a brands 'worst' product is way better than the best products from a bad brand. I absolutely love my Autumn's Reign palette and wish that Wondrous Knight were available as a single (preferably in the size of those huge Marc Jacobs bronzers). You can depot the shades from the palette and let them live with your single shades to get better use out of them, they are magnetic😉
I appreciate your transparency! I still don’t feel like I can get true honesty and transparency from most influencers, especially not from the very large channels. I unsubscribed and am careful who I listen to. I feel better buying from indies than from a huge corporation. I heard bad reviews on the Clinodah mattes, even the singles. I haven’t bought from them because they are more than I’m willing to spend, but I’ll keep an eye out the new palette and see if I’m interested and look at the cost. I accidentally bought the Alamar primer on Boxycharm pop up last year. I intentionally bought the eyeshadow palette from Boxycharm too, but haven’t used it yet. I cancelled boxycharm in November to help save money. I’d rather buy the makeup I really want each month.
I was about to suggest you use the Alamar primer as a glitter glue when you said it first! Lol! I always try to find someway to use my indie stuff bc I know how much goes into each of their products too!
Don’t have experience with most of these, but I have to agree with the Cosmic Chameleons. I even love the green one. But like you said, they’re too much for what they are and they were advertised as much more.
I love my Autumn’s Reign, though I have it as a singles bundle which makes it a bit easier for me to see color stories I love. The true jewel tones in it with fall neutrals speak to me and my coloring. My Comet Catcher does not act the same way, mine is much more reflective and the fuchsia stands out a lot. That’s so odd, but is exactly something that happens in makeup. Also not here for soft satin for shimmers! If we are putting a shimmer on, I want it to sparkle!!
Interesting video idea. I personally love Sidney Grace' liquid shadows. I have very oily lids and those are some of the only liquid shadows, that don't crease on me. But that's obviously only my personal preference and experience.
I love them as well, looove them. They are so longwearing for my crazy ass work days. I've had a few dud shades that either made my eye look too crepey or was patchy, but overall, favorite products in my collection!

I totally agree with the SG, I love them so much my favorite brand, but the autumns reign doesn’t speak to me. The kaleidos tone activator doesn’t work well for me either :( I totally agree with these statements
OMG I get a similar smell from the matte ABH glosses but no one I knows smells the same thing. It’s only the matte ones when I put it on my lips. In the tubes, they smell like vanilla cake. I understand. My body chemistry just doesn’t work with them.
I’m so sad to see that you don’t like the alamar primer! I love it when I put on a thin layer and set it with my face powder. I have super oily eyelids and it definitely holds back some of the oils that break up my eyeshadow.
I tried it thin and thick and setting it with powder. I tried it applying shadows right away and waiting a few minutes and I just don’t like it 😅 But Im my eyelids are on the drier side.

So I just got the Kaleidos complete highlighter collection today and I thought the exact same thing about Comet Catcher. I also picked up a few of Looxi's highlighters, one of them called Stripped, that came in at the same time. I swatched them side by side and they're identical 🙁
I just find Glamlite's highlighters too sparkly. And the one that came in the Dessert Foodie Box is too dark for me, as well. I almost never wear lashes, either. 👀 The Xploders are still my #1 top fav micro-glittery multichromes ever. I still - more than a year after their release - use them almost every makeup day. 😅
I knew what most brands you would say the product was so that makes me happy!... your look in this video is so pretty! Not every product is gonna be amazing from a brand but that doesn’t make everything they have suck either... they can have a star product and a not as great product lol... really enjoyed this
I have a matte single from Clionadh and it’s so hard to work with. Very powdery and overly pigmented. I only keep it because I don’t have any other colours like it but if I ever do that shadow is leaving my collection so fast! Their shimmers are stunning though. I purchased from them before the stained glass shadows even came out and their regular shimmers need more hype!

Same for me with that damn pizza palette. I actually liked the color story - until I noticed the lack of shimmers. But then I said “well, then I’ll just use the mattes and pull my loose pigments 🙂” and bought the damn thing anyway. I don’t think I’ve even swatched it.
That Autumn's Reign palette is my favourite Sidney Grace palette and is very much high up there in my favourite palette of all time and I have over 350 palettes. It just goes to show personal preference and opinions counts a lot in product purchase.
Yes Indie brushes please! I just bought the Clionadh brush collection on Pre-order & am curious if anyone else has used these eye brushes from Clionadh and what their thoughts are. No videos to be found on you tube, at least none that I can find. 🤔🤗
Oh yes, please! I would love that! I'm more and more interested in synthetic brushes in general. But unfortunately, a lot of these brushes are too scratchy for my dry and sensitive skin. I bought lately, Nabla and Luxie brushes (from the black pro line?). I was really impressed by the Luxie 732 Foundation Airbrush.👍🤗
I enjoyed this video! The only 'worst' I can think of from those brands I tried (and it's not even bad!) is a few of the Kaleidos Astropink shades didn't come out as great as I thought from the hype, but I still like the palette. I'm a satin lover but I love most different finishes including the other amazing one you swatched for different reasons, I feel satin is the best one for wearable make-up that adds a subtle beauty, the super shiny shimmers and glitters I love for the days I feel a little like the extra! I just got that orange solstice chameleon from the sales but haven't tried it yet, it did look like a subtle duochrome when I bought it!

Hey Amy, this was a fun video! Places where we'll probably agree to disagree would be that I really like Radiation (the green cosmic chameleon from Terra Moon). I also have Orion's Belt and Moon Tide and enjoy them, as well. Also, I like my comet catcher highlighter from Kaleidos. However, if I was to pick between that one and the other one I own, Skywalker, I'd definitely pick Skywalker. It's cool to share different opinions, though.

I've only tried two Glamlite products, Cake palette and Horchata gloss. I really am not a fan of their gloss formula, it just doesn't do enough for me, it adds a tint of colour but not a lot and it doesn't add a lot of shine in my opinion.
This is so interesting, I am opposite.. For my comparatively textured and mature eyelids Devinah normal shimmers are just amazing! Can't use Devinah's extremely sparkly shadows because they just emphasize lid texture 🤷🏽♀️! Edit: That is true for any extremely sparkly shadows, only few exceptions!
“Pukey cake”. When you said that it just triggered something for me. I had gotten a Fenty gloss bomb duo pack. When I first got them I didn’t notice anything. Now all of a sudden one started to smell a bit off but the other one didn’t. You saying this just made me realize it is pukey cake. Sweet but not right. Maybe it doesn’t smell right to you because it’s gone bad.
I haate the Kaleidos eye primer on my eyes, i cant blend over it what so ever! Its nice for ig swatches, but will never buy again😬 My Comet Catcher is soo dull and boring looking too! Mine even has hard pan on it🥺
Comet Catcher is one of my fave highlighters! 😂 I love how deep fuchsia pink it is but I know you're not alone with your opinion. Just goes to show that variety is good for brands, something for everyone!
I have Clionadh single mattes, and they do work well. My problem is that the mattes are much more fragile from their shimmer formulas. I have two that broken even though I didn't drop them. Just that I stored the Z palette vertically... and the next thing I knew, they are dusts on the bottom.. After repressed them they still work well, so I just be careful with how I store them.
Devinah's latest collection Star Chasers was a disappointment for me. It suffers from the same issue as Looxi which is the absolutely need for a primer- rather than performing OK but needing a boost to be better, they are just shimmer that floats aways without it.
Great video idea, really enjoyed it! I've been thinking about picking up something from Sydney Grace for a while but haven't settled on anything yet. Looking at the Autumn Reign palette, if I could get the last two columns as a 6-pan... I'd own it already. Wait, do they come as singles? I might have a plan...
Totally agree on Alamar primer it's not good at all its way to sticky and honestly trying use it as glitter primer I still don't care for it I use it as like glitter glue for my inner corner

Amy, I would love a comparisons vídeo between Clionadh and Terra Moons eyeshadows dupes. I have read that Crystalline from Clionadh and Moon Tide from Terra Moons are dupes. Is it true? More dupes?? I would love to order some eyeshadows from Terra Moons but I find them extremely expensive, 😩... WE WANT DUPES PLEAAASE!! 👏🏻😄
@@miss_lorelei also own both, and definitely not dupes at all. Moon Tide is brighter, more reflective, and a deeper purple. Crystalline is more translucent but more shifty, and a lighter tone.
The kaleidos eye primer does literally nothing for me... I have somewhat oily eyelids and I swear sometimes it actually makes my shadows crease FASTER than if I had just used no primer, even with the thinnest layer of it possible. I'm sure it works great for some people but it was a total dud for me :(

My Kaleidos tone activator came exploded but I tried it anyway. They refunded me when I sent an email (awesome customer service) and.. thank God because I threw it out instead of saving it. I’m pale as heck because I’m a redhead and don’t even do fake tan..it looked like I slapped a transition Shade from lash line to eyebrow. It wasn’t pretty.
The first one I got came busted too, the heat seal on the end came undone. They sent me a new one but it come busted too :( I just gave up on it. I taped/glued the end the best I could so I could at least try it. It wasn't something that I loved. The color didn't really bother me but it was a bit to creamy for me, got creasing from several different formulas.
@@MalemVenom that’s good to know! I was sad that mine was busted but the color didn’t work for me AT all. I have hooded eyes and I’m older (37) so my base has to work and work HARD.
I found my eyeshadows faded so fast with this primer, and I don’t tend to get fading normally. I tried my usual primer on one eye (NYX proof it waterproof) with kaleidos on the other eye and confirmed that yep, the kaleidos primer does fa faster. It’s a shame coz it’s so affordable for the size of the tube, but it just doesn’t work for me.
Ohmygoodness the tone activator from Kaleidos creases SO BADLY on me, and I'm really curious if anyone else has had this issue. It doesn't matter if I set the primer or put shadow directly on it; it actively makes my eyeshadow look WORSE. I kid you not, I can do the same look with the same techniques on each eye, use my Milani primer on one side and Kaleidos on the other, and the Kaleidos one will start creasing, fading, balling up the shadow, and giving me BALD SPOTS IN MY CREASE within the first hour of application. Even if I try using different techniques or washing my face directly beforehand, it doesn't help. Every single time I've used it, my shadows have looked terrible within 2 hours max. Not just faded; actually bad. It doesn't matter which brand of shadow I use, which brushes I use, nothing. It's like this every time. My eyes just completely reject it, but SO MANY PEOPLE RECOMMEND THIS PRIMER and I'm so confused as to why my eyes hate it so much. No other primer does this for me between the Milani, Sigma, and Urban Decay ones. It's literally JUST the Kaleidos primer. T_T
Same, I'm not a fan of the primer. It is just to creamy for me, creases throughout the day even with their own shadows. Millani and Revlon primers are the ones I keep going back to.
unpop opinion- everything outside the stained glass collection from clionadh sucks (with the exception of the regular shade wildfire which is perfection). in part personal preference, their duochrome shadows and highlighters are dull and flat, and the mattes i have are patchy. i never had a matte completely dust off and leave a bald patch on my eyes the way some clionadh shades have it's crazy how bad. i wish the mattes were better because they do have some unique tones and colors. but most of what i have from clionadh outside the stained glass collection i really regret getting on top of the ridiculous turnaround time. complete waste of money, i do not get joy or use and i have tried to make them work many times. i had such high hopes from other reviews but almost everything was bleh
Tbh I am SUCH a Terra Moon's Stan I have been with them for ages. But honestly I was disappointed in Looking Glass, a multi chrome. I feel like it looks like a grey-green and doesnt have a ton of shift. I haven't bought any more multi chromes from them or from other indie brands, even when Ive been tempted, bc I worry that they're all like that. Can anyone confirm/ deny? Are there better ones? Bc I support TM 100% of the time but I NEVER use that shade- and it was pricey!
Is anyone else kinda weirded out by the shade. name of the musee beauty highlighter palette? Aryan ambient?? And it’s their highlight palette for light skin tones 😟 I can’t tell if I’m being overly sensitive or if that’s kinda yucky, what do you guys think?

The way you feel about the Devinah regular shimmers is how I feel about their Butterfly collection vs the newest Aurorae flares collection, the shine and shiftiness is a million times better, why would anyone get any of the Butterfly shades anymore (besides the fact that they are cheaper)
Millie I agree the Butterfly collection is a No I wasn't very impressed with them at all honestly I feel same way about Terra Moon extreme multichrome I only have 1 shade from Terra Moon but I wasn't impressed I love their other shadows tho. Devinah is Aura Flares are Amazing IMO I like them better then my jeweled multichromes from Clindoah

I have some mattes from Clionadh that were apart of the woodlands bundle and I really enjoy them. I am not sure if that’s a new formula or not

I remember staring longingly at the archeo and paleo in Angelicas background back in the day.
I like cream shadows for one and done looks so I really like the Sydney Grace cream shadows.

💯 agree on the Willy Wonka exploders; they're amazing. Terra Moons' mattes are a favorite, too, even the neon pastels.
I knew what most brands you would say the product was so that makes me happy!... your look in this video is so pretty! Not every product is gonna be amazing from a brand but that doesn’t make everything they have suck either... they can have a star product and a not as great product lol... really enjoyed this
I have a matte single from Clionadh and it’s so hard to work with. Very powdery and overly pigmented. I only keep it because I don’t have any other colours like it but if I ever do that shadow is leaving my collection so fast! Their shimmers are stunning though. I purchased from them before the stained glass shadows even came out and their regular shimmers need more hype!

Same for me with that damn pizza palette. I actually liked the color story - until I noticed the lack of shimmers. But then I said “well, then I’ll just use the mattes and pull my loose pigments 🙂” and bought the damn thing anyway. I don’t think I’ve even swatched it.
That Autumn's Reign palette is my favourite Sidney Grace palette and is very much high up there in my favourite palette of all time and I have over 350 palettes. It just goes to show personal preference and opinions counts a lot in product purchase.

Oh yes, please! I would love that! I'm more and more interested in synthetic brushes in general. But unfortunately, a lot of these brushes are too scratchy for my dry and sensitive skin. I bought lately, Nabla and Luxie brushes (from the black pro line?). I was really impressed by the Luxie 732 Foundation Airbrush.👍🤗

I enjoyed this video! The only 'worst' I can think of from those brands I tried (and it's not even bad!) is a few of the Kaleidos Astropink shades didn't come out as great as I thought from the hype, but I still like the palette.
I'm a satin lover but I love most different finishes including the other amazing one you swatched for different reasons, I feel satin is the best one for wearable make-up that adds a subtle beauty, the super shiny shimmers and glitters I love for the days I feel a little like the extra!
I just got that orange solstice chameleon from the sales but haven't tried it yet, it did look like a subtle duochrome when I bought it!

Hey Amy, this was a fun video! Places where we'll probably agree to disagree would be that I really like Radiation (the green cosmic chameleon from Terra Moon). I also have Orion's Belt and Moon Tide and enjoy them, as well. Also, I like my comet catcher highlighter from Kaleidos. However, if I was to pick between that one and the other one I own, Skywalker, I'd definitely pick Skywalker. It's cool to share different opinions, though.

I've only tried two Glamlite products, Cake palette and Horchata gloss. I really am not a fan of their gloss formula, it just doesn't do enough for me, it adds a tint of colour but not a lot and it doesn't add a lot of shine in my opinion.
This is so interesting, I am opposite.. For my comparatively textured and mature eyelids Devinah normal shimmers are just amazing! Can't use Devinah's extremely sparkly shadows because they just emphasize lid texture 🤷🏽♀️!
Edit: That is true for any extremely sparkly shadows, only few exceptions!
“Pukey cake”. When you said that it just triggered something for me. I had gotten a Fenty gloss bomb duo pack. When I first got them I didn’t notice anything. Now all of a sudden one started to smell a bit off but the other one didn’t. You saying this just made me realize it is pukey cake. Sweet but not right. Maybe it doesn’t smell right to you because it’s gone bad.
I haate the Kaleidos eye primer on my eyes, i cant blend over it what so ever! Its nice for ig swatches, but will never buy again😬 My Comet Catcher is soo dull and boring looking too! Mine even has hard pan on it🥺
Comet Catcher is one of my fave highlighters! 😂 I love how deep fuchsia pink it is but I know you're not alone with your opinion. Just goes to show that variety is good for brands, something for everyone!

my comet catcher by kaleidos is not like that! it’s that colour but still sparkly and easy to pick up 🤷🏻♀️
I have Clionadh single mattes, and they do work well. My problem is that the mattes are much more fragile from their shimmer formulas.
I have two that broken even though I didn't drop them. Just that I stored the Z palette vertically... and the next thing I knew, they are dusts on the bottom..
After repressed them they still work well, so I just be careful with how I store them.
Devinah's latest collection Star Chasers was a disappointment for me. It suffers from the same issue as Looxi which is the absolutely need for a primer- rather than performing OK but needing a boost to be better, they are just shimmer that floats aways without it.
That highlighter from Kaleidos looks like it got hard pan on the top layers . Try scraping the top of it to see if that works
Great video idea, really enjoyed it! I've been thinking about picking up something from Sydney Grace for a while but haven't settled on anything yet. Looking at the Autumn Reign palette, if I could get the last two columns as a 6-pan... I'd own it already. Wait, do they come as singles? I might have a plan...
Totally agree on Alamar primer it's not good at all its way to sticky and honestly trying use it as glitter primer I still don't care for it I use it as like glitter glue for my inner corner

Amy, I would love a comparisons vídeo between Clionadh and Terra Moons eyeshadows dupes. I have read that Crystalline from Clionadh and Moon Tide from Terra Moons are dupes. Is it true? More dupes?? @@miss_lorelei also own both, and definitely not dupes at all. Moon Tide is brighter, more reflective, and a deeper purple. Crystalline is more translucent but more shifty, and a lighter tone.
The kaleidos eye primer does literally nothing for me... I have somewhat oily eyelids and I swear sometimes it actually makes my shadows crease FASTER than if I had just used no primer, even with the thinnest layer of it possible. I'm sure it works great for some people but it was a total dud for me :(

I was really disappointed in the JD glow liquid multi chromes. I really wanted a dupe for the ND ones but I hear the pigments are better!

My Kaleidos tone activator came exploded but I tried it anyway. They refunded me when I sent an email (awesome customer service) and.. thank God because I threw it out instead of saving it. I’m pale as heck because I’m a redhead and don’t even do fake tan..it looked like I slapped a transition Shade from lash line to eyebrow. It wasn’t pretty.
The first one I got came busted too, the heat seal on the end came undone. They sent me a new one but it come busted too :( I just gave up on it. I taped/glued the end the best I could so I could at least try it. It wasn't something that I loved. The color didn't really bother me but it was a bit to creamy for me, got creasing from several different formulas.

Same. Extremely hard to blend on, and it’s so sticky. My eyeshadow always looks like poo when I use it.
I found my eyeshadows faded so fast with this primer, and I don’t tend to get fading normally. I tried my usual primer on one eye (NYX proof it waterproof) with kaleidos on the other eye and confirmed that yep, the kaleidos primer does fa faster. It’s a shame coz it’s so affordable for the size of the tube, but it just doesn’t work for me.

Ugh Terra Moons UFO was the literal worst shadow I ever bought :) do not recommend that at all.
Ohmygoodness the tone activator from Kaleidos creases SO BADLY on me, and I'm really curious if anyone else has had this issue. It doesn't matter if I set the primer or put shadow directly on it; it actively makes my eyeshadow look WORSE. I kid you not, I can do the same look with the same techniques on each eye, use my Milani primer on one side and Kaleidos on the other, and the Kaleidos one will start creasing, fading, balling up the shadow, and giving me BALD SPOTS IN MY CREASE within the first hour of application. Even if I try using different techniques or washing my face directly beforehand, it doesn't help. Every single time I've used it, my shadows have looked terrible within 2 hours max. Not just faded; actually bad.
It doesn't matter which brand of shadow I use, which brushes I use, nothing. It's like this every time. My eyes just completely reject it, but SO MANY PEOPLE RECOMMEND THIS PRIMER and I'm so confused as to why my eyes hate it so much. No other primer does this for me between the Milani, Sigma, and Urban Decay ones. It's literally JUST the Kaleidos primer. T_T
Same, I'm not a fan of the primer. It is just to creamy for me, creases throughout the day even with their own shadows. Millani and Revlon primers are the ones I keep going back to.
unpop opinion- everything outside the stained glass collection from clionadh sucks (with the exception of the regular shade wildfire which is perfection). in part personal preference, their duochrome shadows and highlighters are dull and flat, and the mattes i have are patchy. i never had a matte completely dust off and leave a bald patch on my eyes the way some clionadh shades have it's crazy how bad. i wish the mattes were better because they do have some unique tones and colors. but most of what i have from clionadh outside the stained glass collection i really regret getting on top of the ridiculous turnaround time. complete waste of money, i do not get joy or use and i have tried to make them work many times. i had such high hopes from other reviews but almost everything was bleh
Tbh I am SUCH a Terra Moon's Stan I have been with them for ages. But honestly I was disappointed in Looking Glass, a multi chrome. I feel like it looks like a grey-green and doesnt have a ton of shift. I haven't bought any more multi chromes from them or from other indie brands, even when Ive been tempted, bc I worry that they're all like that. Can anyone confirm/ deny? Are there better ones? Bc I support TM 100% of the time but I NEVER use that shade- and it was pricey!

The way you feel about the Devinah regular shimmers is how I feel about their Butterfly collection vs the newest Aurorae flares collection, the shine and shiftiness is a million times better, why would anyone get any of the Butterfly shades anymore (besides the fact that they are cheaper)

Millie I agree the Butterfly collection is a No I wasn't very impressed with them at all honestly I feel same way about Terra Moon extreme multichrome I only have 1 shade from Terra Moon but I wasn't impressed I love their other shadows tho. Devinah is Aura Flares are Amazing IMO I like them better then my jeweled multichromes from Clindoah
