Wow! I oughtn't be surprised, but you definitely caught on very fast to the fact that every one of these guys are vocal monsters. Geoff's just the gateway drug. 😂 As to your question about Cesar's range- we're still learning it. But he joined the group after J. None left, essentially slipping into that baritone role. That said, when they recently covered Dream On (Aerosmith) the question came up of who would take the iconic high note at the end, he wanted it the most, and got it. Nailed it, too, in a jaw-dropping three-part harmony with Eli and Omar Cardona, that song's featured artist. He's also done a tiny bit of overtone singing in the Halo Theme. But as far as what he's fully capable of, I think we've yet to see it all. But his emotive capabilities are off the charts, and I suspect that is part of what made him such a good fit for the group. Cesar embodies the character he sings in We Don't Talk About Bruno, physical mannerisms and all; but then in I Can't Make You Love Me, he may well bring you to tears with his earnest vulnerability. I think the majority of VoicePlay fans fell in love with him when he snapped open the big folding fan he was holding in We're Good, which was the very first time he'd ever featured as a guest with VoicePlay. He just fit. Cesar aside, this was another superb analysis! You have to understand, when this song released, it became known as the reactor slayer, because people would literally lose their words. One guy kinda made an attempt to say something, shrugged, and just walked off. Another was so shocked he leapt out of his seat- forgetting he was only wearing his boxers. The arrangement is powerful, and every time someone knowledgeable about music takes the time to dissect what makes it resonate so much with the listener is the best kind of treat.
Haha! The gateway drug comparison is very apt. :-P I'm very excited to dig into more of Cesar's work (though he's not in the next VP video I've already recorded) - he's such a characterful performer. I will have to check out the reactions of some of the other reactors! They sound hilarious. I get it though - I was almost speechless several times in this video. I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. :-)
@@davidkreacts There's a fantastic series of reactions that were basically Inception-ed. Start off with QofyReacts (the guy in his boxers), then King Family reacted to Qofy's reaction, then Brad Steele reacted to King Family's reaction, then Patrol Gaming.... the four of them are all friends, and it's a pretty fun time. But if nothing else, Qofy's reaction is legend.
@@davidkreacts there's a video of reactors reacting to reactors who are reacting to reactors reacting to this video!!!!! It's hilarious and the guys are all friends now. Sometimes they do live streams together. If you want a laugh watch Steele reacts to King Family Reacts to QoFy reacts. I might've missed someone but it's still hilarious.
I love Voiceplay and I really enjoy people reacting to videos but what makes your videos special is your enthusiasm. You bring honesty and heart to them and I appreciate that. Don't worry about the duration of the videos they are entertaining from start to finish.
Just keep on reacting and the fans will come by. When you feel settled in with VP I have no doubt you will gett suggestions on other cool stuff. Many of the featured guests have back history of working together with VP in the entertainment industry of Orlando. José Rosario and Cesar De la Rosa have attended the same high school and performed together there, though different classes. This is the best bassline I know, I can never get tired of seing Layne and Geoff sitting there, working in total syncopation together, holding the rythm. And then Eli soaring high, greatly assissted by Cesar and José. Magnificient!
I love that you are doing both a reaction and analysis and can't wait to see what you think of In the Hall of the Mountain King, We are going to have a wonderful ride with you!
When this was released it brought many of the regular reactors to their knees. Literally speechless. This was also the first one where we saw Cesar take a serious, non-comedic role. It was stunning to see him fit right in, and slide so easily from a comic persona to one that is strange and shell shocked and menacing. We KNEW the others could go there, it was exciting to see that Cesar can too. As for Cesar's range - he took the high notes in Dream On. I don't know the numbers, but for a baritone to do that is impressive.
I can believe that - it's such a stunning piece of music. It's also so wonderful to experience a new side to a performer that you've known for something else. I came to this too early to have seen that, but it's an interesting point to know.
There are SO many Voiceplay (and Geoff solo) videos, it's hard to select fewer than 20 for you to consider reviewing. If you like Disney and show material, check out Moana, If I Were a Rich Man/Girl, The Little Mermaid Medley, Frozen 2, We Don't Talk About Bruno. ** Hallowe'en/spooky - check out In The Hall of the Mountain King, Friends on the Other Side, Superstition, Oogie Boogie's Song. ** Warrior/Fantasy - Enemy - Imagine Dragons, The Dragonborn Comes - Skyrim, My Mother Told Me. ** Pop/Rock - Boy Bands in 5 Minutes, Good 4 U, Queen in 5 Minutes. Gosh, even the short 1 minute bits are so much fun!
It has been absolutely fantastic seeing your reactions to Voiceplay, and Geoff on his own! I love the additional input from your own experience, I love learning and I have learned quite a bit just from these 3 videos. I love seeing someone get just as excited about them and their abilities as I do! I do hope you will keep on, and thank you for your knowledge and input!
This piece originally had a different featured artist scheduled (don't know who it was) who was going to sing the part that Eli is singing. Because of Covid restrictions, the featured artist could not do it. Eli took the part and Jose took Eli's original part. Normally the featured artist would have gotten the larger part, that's just the way they normally do things. So, Eli had to re-record that rock tenor very impressive part. I'm thinking that you need to see some of Layne's arrangements. Maybe you already have them in the can, but some suggestions just in case you don't. You saw Wicked, Layne did the arrangement for The Greatest Showman Medley. He also did the arrangement for The Little Mermaid Medley and he stretches Geoff's range just for the fun of it. In the Hall of the Mountain King is also Layne. Really enjoying this ride, thanx for inviting us along!
Thank you so much for the comments. I don't have any of those in the can, but a couple of them are in the "do it now" pile, just because I know I want to listen to them! ;-) That's interesting regarding the shifting of the roster - it just goes to show how very flexible and talented they all are!
Layne has done most of the arrangements lately. If you see Geoff with tons of makeup or go super low it's a pretty sure bet Layne had something to do with that as the arranger 😂. The last 2 videos they put out.. In the hall of the mountain King and hide and Seek were both done by Layne. All 4 of the nightmare before Christmas videos were Layne's. OMG!!! I just looked down at my tablet cause it's on RUclips home page and saw a recommendation for Huldra Draco video... (Voiceplay) The saga of Layne the Carrot Lord. I've already seen it several times. Funny story of how he became obsessed with carrots and videos.
@@ronsbrat525 They had another Halloween piece ready to go, maybe even recorded, but the featured artist had a conflict. They said they will use it next year if they can't release it before. I presume that one was Geoff's. He and Layne are still doing pretty much 50/50.
@@ilonadever8249 That was for Omar Cardona. He is on The Voice. That's why he couldn't do it. Geoff said nothing about it being for Halloween. Only that it was perfect for Omar and their going to do it when he's available. Omar agreed right in the chat with Cesar. They are best friends and roommates. It was cool seeing Omar behind the scenes as himself.
There's so much going on in this arrangement that I doubt people are going to give you a hard time for not noticing Geoff's slide. I didn't notice it at first but I picked up on it during an additional viewing haha.
Exactly - first time I listened to it after finishing this recording, I heard the slide! :-P There is so much going on though, I agree - still hearing new things as I listen to it again.
"Dolorus, but not turgid.", Dead darn on. Thank you, you've expressed what I couldn;t, and had no clue how. (Sorry, should have been appended to my last comment.)
Voiceplay won't release a video until it's perfect. Whether a week or a year or never. They all performed at Universal Studios and Disney World in Orlando Florida for many years before and after they formed the group. So perfection is ingrained in them. As well as being theater kids and kings of Halloween. Their makeup artist Rick Underwood worked at Disney World for 30 years before he started his own company. Has done their makeup since.
That's awesome. Makes complete sense too - they have the professionalism, enthusiasm, and total sense of fun to have that as a background. Awesome re Rick Underwood too!
Yes, I want more of your reactions and analysis of VoicePlay and Geoff! I appreciate the background knowledge you bring to bear and point out things I may not have noticed, enhancing my appreciation of an incredibly talented group that doesn't get nearly the attention and YT views they deserve. They're the "theater kids of a cappella" not just because of their frequent use of costumes, makeup, and set design that sets them apart from so many other groups. It's the way they excel at telling the story of each song, not just performing the music and lyrics. The lighting design by Eli here, for example, helps convey the sense of a battle at sea. You want to sway along with them, like we're at sea, too. They each have their sweet spot but they're all so versatile they could switch (at least briefly) and do anyone else's part (though no one can go as low as Geoff and sound that good). They all beatbox in the Greatest Showman Medley (even guest Rachel Potter). Cesar is ostensibly the baritone but in Dream On, with two tenors -- Eli and guest Omar Cardona -- Cesar hits the high Tyler scream. Layne has a sweet baritone voice we don't hear much since he took over as beatboxer after Scott Porter left to be an actor full time. Co-founders Layne and Geoff have been singing together since middle school. They performed as a barbershop quartet in high school, with many changes in personnel over the years as they refined their talents and singing style. They've always been big on humor and the "play" part. There's an audio-only recording on YT of them performing The Chicken Song in high school or maybe college. Audience members have posted videos on YT of The Chicken Song as well as their skit Road Trip. Highly recommend both if you need a laugh. VoicePlay started their YT channel ten years ago. You can date their videos by the lineup of singers and length of Geoff's hair, which he let grow long around the time he became a dad. Daddy Sang Bass is one of my favorite VP videos because their families join them at the end. To grow your channel, I suggest also reacting to another a cappella group, Home Free. There's a big crossover in fans; many Home Fries are also VoicePlayers. Like Geoff, HF bass singer Tim Foust has a five-octave range. He's a natural bass, whereas Geoff describes himself as a baritone with bass range. Geoff favors using subharmonics to go down to the basement; Tim tends to use the growl technique. One tool HF has in their toolkit that VP does not is that Tim and high tenor Austin Brown also compose original songs. Both have solo channels as well as the recently formed Sweet & Low Music Co. where they use instruments and collaborate with other singers/composers. One of my favorite Tim songs is Champagne Taste on A Beer Budget, very funny, with a cameo by Avi Kaplan, former bass singer for Pentatonix. Avi was there because he'd recorded Ring of Fire with Home Free the night before. For Christmas, watch another original song by Tim, Full of Cheer. The guys in VoicePlay and Home Free are all friends and have collaborated numerous times. One collaboration that shows the basic differences between them is Survivor: Zombies vs Hillbillies. Live version, no makeup, with Emoni Wilkins (she's in the Wicked Medley) who toured with VP after The Sing-Off: ruclips.net/video/sRcwUdnKV58/видео.html Full makeup and costumes, with Honey La Rochelle, who competed with VP on The Sing-Off: ruclips.net/video/yYzwzbqUJXk/видео.html High tenor Earl Elkins left VP in 2020. Queen in Five Minutes showcases his voice. Baritone Tony Wakim stopped singing with VP in 2016 to go full-time behind the camera as a producer, director, costumer, and co-owner of PattyCake Productions with Layne. Geoff and VP film a lot of their videos at PattyCake. Phantom of the Opera is one of the best videos to feature Tony's beautiful voice.
I absolutely agree with you about the storytelling. It's so prevalent in their work, and I'm here for it! I have Home Free down to check out very soon - I'm interested in seeing what their style is like, as I understand their inspiration is often a little more in the vein of country, which lends itself well to cool harmonies. Thank you for all the information - that's really helpful. I'd been recommended Survivor, but didn't realise there were two versions - I appreciate the heads-up on that.
I'm so glad to see you've decided to continue. You have become my new favourite "reactor". I admit, I'm a huge VP fan and always love watching someone experience them for the first time. I come from a very musical family, early days with a lot of classical training both voice and multiple instruments then a lot of programming rock and metal. So, I really love hearing in depth analysis. What sets you apart from some others is your obvious joy and wonder of the process. I get the same feeling as when I'm discussing music with one of my friends and family. I hope to share more musical adventures with you.
PS Very few reactors can abstain from swaying, it's sometimes a total effort not to. There was an episod when this piece came out, where one reactor was so overwhelmed by this piece that he ran out of the room just in his boxers, forgetting he had no pants on at his desk. Then another reactor reacts to this, ( he himself in his own reaction just rising at the end, walk out of the room slamming the door without saying a word)then a third reactor reacted to that video, ending up with the fourth reactor watching that video. The sight in that last fourth video, with the four reactors sitting deep in line, all four of them swaying their heads at the same time to the rythm. Wonderful to behold for the audience, lol. This piece is known among fans as the reactor killing piece.😄 We seldom recommend it as a starting piece for new reactors.
Hahaha! That sounds incredible - I'll have to look for that now that I've done my own reaction. I don't know how I'd have coped if this was my first video of theirs - I think it would have been quite overwhelming if I hadn't already got a few ideas of how they perform.
@@davidkreacts First reactor is QoFy, just watch his reaction separately first, it's a hilarious experience and QoFy is good with it, he'd taken it down otherwise. It's almost impossible to see what takes place in his video when you come to reaction nr 4 who is Patrol Gamer/ Patrol Nation, he has changed the name on his channel. Titel: ' Inception' All these reactors are friends and occasionally cohost a web- chat together.
Another great reaction and analysis !! Both Geoff and Layne do amazing arrangements and they keep getting better year after year and post after post. Their choices for featured vocalists always seem to be prefect for the song. They have used Rachael Potter several times over the years, and I think you would really like her work with them.
Eli is also called the "Rock Tenor" because of the power in his voice. And before Voiceplay he was in a rock band. I love this song. I have it on my playlist.
@@davidkreacts I have a playlist on my channel of Eli performing outside of VoicePlay, both solo, in rock bands and in other groups. they are older videos, often recorded on cellphone, so the audio quality varies from decent to poor. but there are some really good songs, even his original music video called Hero! also, if you happen to stumble across any VoicePlay videos on my channel, I have marked them in the description with whether they are reactor safe or not, so you know if they will contain music spoilers or not. that way you can safely watch them if it says [REACTOR SAFE] in the description. some of them are just info/facts videos, while others contain clips from music videos, so this way you can tell beforehand whether it will be safe for you to watch them or not, if you decide to have a look.
I'm really beginning to think that I will never get tired of watching people react to VoicePlay and Geoff Castelluci videos. It seems to be a new hobby.
Great reaction and analysis. Don't worry about rambling. I tend to do that too when I'm passionate about something. Plus you were giving your reaction to the video.
Thank you! And I appreciate that - watching it back, I realise I didn't actually tangent of for as long as it felt like I had done when I was recording it! :-P I think it's more that I don't want my thought to get lost in sub-thoughts, if that makes sense!
It's nice to see a few British reactors to VoicePlay and Geoff, most are in the US though there are a few other Europeans doing it. It's just a bit trickier to follow if they don't speak English :) You'll find a number of fans saying that this is a favourite, certainly one of mine. Geoff's and Laine's arrangements have this quality of being true to the original whilst putting their own spin on it. Truly they are genius arrangers as well as singers, beatboxers, editors, etc etc. They do almost everything themselves, even setting up the staging. They do have help with makeup, but any help is acknowledged in the credits. When this first came out I suggested in a comment that Cesar looked far too clean, and someone repled that perhaps he'd been keel hauled. LOL. Fans are just as much fun as VP themselves. :) Oh and VP don't use autotune to the best of my knowledge. They sound as good live. Regarding the lengths they go to for accuracy, pirates were branded with a P on the back of the hand, and these guys have fake branding of P or possible VP on the backs of theirs. It's hard to spot but is there. Oh and Laine also has a huge range, and Cesar's isn't bad either. :) It has been noted that both Eli and Laine look criminally insane at times in this. LOL I see what you mean about the rolling waves, but also heaving on the ropes. Oh and Eli does the lighting nowadays. Yet more genius. Another favourite is their The Dragonborn Comes, from Skyrim.
Thank you so much for the kind words and comments. I love all of the detail, and I confess I missed the brand completely! (SO much to take in in this video!) My guess was that they didn't autotune, so I would be inclined to agree (or at most, it's to correct a difference of just a couple of cents for fullness, not for actual correction). I agree re the fans - I have been overwhelmed with the outpouring of comments, encouragement and information. It's wonderful to be part of the community.
@@davidkreacts My understanding is that they use Melodyne- as every a cappella group does. But as you said, it's only for the smallest of technical tweaks. If you want to hear a fantastic comparison between studio and live, check out their studio cover of Grim Grinning Ghosts, and then the live one; both are on their channel. And hey, bonus- it's seasonal!
Geoff showed the VP "brand" on his right forearm in the BTS. Supposedly all the guys have one, we just can't really see them. I'm betting it helped them be in character.
I believe you would love some of the Pattycake Productions videos. They do theatrical stuff. The studio is owned by Tony Wakim (former Voiceplay member) and Layne Stein (Voiceplay beatboxer)
@@davidkreacts You don’t need to watch the whole patron list, only need to know that the video may not be over until it starts. But actually, in the last two (“In the Hall of the Mountain King” and “Hide and Seek”) the video continues through the patron list. But before those two, you can always be sure that it’s over when the names start rolling.
I am selfishly enjoying the focus on VoicePlay and Geoff content from you right now. 😁 Though I'm sure you will eventually branch out from here. "You almost want to sway with them", he says as I'm swaying along as I do every time I see this video.🤣 I really enjoy your descriptors in this one about the pacing and the feeling of movement like we're on water. You have a great vocabulary. Can't wait for more!
The pose with the raised sword gives me massive Les Mis vibes as well. Maybe it's the lighting - the blue and red with flashes of white - or the way the performers are positioned, or even the lyrics of the song itself. I get huge 'defending the barricade' vibes, and I'm here for it. I'm also here for more of your reacts! Keep them coming!
I know what you mean! Also the raised symbol of defiance above the heads of a group - it's amazing how much that has influenced how we think about that particular visual.
Thank you for another great reaction! I totally understand your emotions for VoicePlay’s music, videos and arrangements. The fact that they do everything by themselves makes me even more impressed. You know Eli is the one doing the incredible lighting?! But not every video is in costume. One of my all time favorites, “Carry On Wayward Son”, arranged by Layne, isn’t theatrical at all. It was recorded before Cesar joined, when J.None still was in the group and features Omar Cardona. Omar is also featuring in “Dream On”, another favorite of mine (Geoff’s arr).
@@davidkreacts Omar is also currently on the television show The Voice. In his blind audition all four chairs turned around and he is on John Legend‘s team. He is Cesar‘s best friend and roommate. Omar’s older brother EJ is a fantastic tenor who is a member of Voctave ,a more choral a capella group. He’s appeared with VoicePlay twice. He and his wife Lindsay also appear with Cesar on a regular basis as Epcot in a few different groups where they make up the core of the groups. Lindsay is a member of The American Sirens, a trio who sings Andrews Sisters songs among others. Talent in Orlando is crazy!!
You are one of the few reactors I never get tired of as far as your analysis. I appreciate you so much. Of course, I could listen to Geoff and VP all day long!
Great reaction again your knowledge shows. I don't think we have seen Cesar's full range yet but Layne also has the same range as Geoff so I can only imagine Cesar's range is as near as the other's
This Is their best work for me. Sometimes Geoff go so low, he reaches Hell's basement. The devil is afraid to look down there in the dark... GEOFF HAMMERHAND, the Horn of Helm's Deep!
In my head I always think of Cesar, Jose, and Eli as 'the Three Tenors' in this video. 😃 Their voices are so different and yet blend so beautifully. Cheers to another great reaction and analysis! Looking forward to more Voice Play, more Geoff and (hopefully) more acapella.
I have thoroughly enjoyed your analysis of this and the previous two. It’s lovely to have a breakdown of the theatrics as well as the music. I’ll happily watch any that you cover, though can I recommend the Queen medley especially for the story. The Disney medleys are also fab. The other two big names in a Capella are Pentatonix and Home Free, though I am definitely a Voiceplayer first and foremost.
You are doing great as a reactor, love your enthuisum and going into details. Voiceplay gives you loads of different styles to get into. the fact they bring in different feature artists gives then even more range not that they need it given their abilities. Some of my favorites ( sticking to the current line up) are If i was a rich man/girl, Enermy, Dream on, Dragonborn comes, We don't take about Bruno and the newest one Hide and seek (ding dong)
OK, only 3 videos in, and I can say that you are already one of my favourite reactors! You have a long journey ahead of you with VoicePlay and Geoff, and I am SO ready for it! I will be with you every step of the way, and I can guarantee that so will many, many other VP fans! I'm not going to make any suggestions for two reasons: 1) because I can see so many others already have, and 2) because I recommend literally EVERYTHING they've ever done! 🤣 Oh, and I'm pretty sure that Geoff takes the low end of a piano as a personal challenge...
Thank you so much for the encouragement and kind words! I understand wanting to recommend everything - I am loving the process of discovering their work so much!
You can’t miss with Voiceplay. They’ve gotten better and better. And obviously as people have said Geoff’s stuff just adds to the available ear candy. Their version of Carry On My Wayward Son is phenomenal. Easily my favorite acapella/acapella adjacent group. I hope you enjoy your reaction journey as your channel grows! EDIT: Thank you for providing actual content and not just watching the video and bailing. 👍🏼
I will absolutely believe that. So glad that you're enjoying my work - and I'm looking forward to getting to Wayward Son in due course. Love that song.
There are so many amazing details in every VoicePlay (and Geoff's solo) videos, that it's impossible to catch everything on a first run --> you're forgiven for not catching Geoff's slide. Don't worry, he does it in many, many others! ❤ Truth be told, when I first saw the length of your reaction, I thought it was too much. But behold, I watched the whole thing, and I appreciated it. Also, you go over the whole song in the first few minutes, so anybody who doesn't care for your breakdown can leave after that. To each its own, right? I'm really happy to see how much you enjoy their work! Please, keep VoicePlay and Geoff reactions coming! 💯🔥 Another one I didn't see suggested (maybe I missed it), is "Tennessee Whiskey". Fantastic riffs and runs there! I highly recommend it! Thanks for a great reaction! 😍
Thank you so much. I'm glad you enjoyed the whole video, but yes, it did occur to me that my thrown-together method has a couple of benefits, whether you want to watch it all or just choose bits. Definitely more reactions coming, and I'll make sure Tennessee Whiskey is on the list. :-)
Recommendation for videos where Layne gets to shine a bit: ACA- Top 10 Disney Villains, In The Hall of The Mountain King, We Don't Talk About Bruno and Moana. Recommendation for videos where Cesar gets to shine a bit: I Can't Make You Love Me, We're Good, Halo, Dream On, We Don't Talk About Bruno. Recommendation for videos where Eli gets to shine a bit: The Dragonborn Comes, Waving Through a Window (full lead through the whole song), Enemy, Carry On Wayward Son, Kiss. Recommendation for videos where Geoff... ah, never mind. He always shines, lol. But if you're looking for songs that show off most of his range, on his solo channel: High And Dry (solo Geoff on piano) and Blackbird (5 Geoff's) showcase his almost highest and almost lowest. Halo (VP)-lowest note. Way Down (solo channel) -second lowest note (and dancing!). btw, ACA Top 10 videos are performed/recorded live in front of the camera, no studio recording with lip synching for the video. So those are the pure live VoicePlay songs with nothing but the 5 voices and nothing layered or added in post. And they are just as amazing!
Thank you for all the recommendations - this is really helpful! I hadn't heard of the Aca Top 10 yet, but see there are several, and in many themes I enjoy, so I'll do one of those soon!
@@janetdw no, they're actually filmed the same way as the main videos. We've been watching a few mini shoots on patreon now, and they do the audio playback just like the main video shoots. but they are recorded mainly with only the 5 voices.
Eli the rock tenor extrodinaire. He's phenomenal in dream on. He scares me in this one lol... You would love my mother told me.. I think I've mentioned that before... I think you could pick any and it would be great... For fun... Please look at road trip... we will be here every time for vp and Geoff... Analyse is great. I don't know anything about arranging and music, so happy to learn.
@@davidkreacts just remembered another fun one that took me a while to get to grips with... Very early video called a crimpella... I thought it very odd until it smacked me in the face about what was actually happening... Should keep you busy for a while. 😜
I appreciate your reactions. You very much have something to contribute. I don't look for comedic or overdone "Oh My God' reactions, those are a dime a dozen. I look for people that give a new perspective on the music. I have no musical background, so the fact that you have experience, and can explain what you are hearing is fantastic. I learn so much. 😀 Thank you.
Loving these reactions!!! Since you've not done a Layne arrangement yet and with your background, I'm gonna recommend the number they did from Fiddler, "If I Were a Rich Man/Girl." It's pretty boss, lol. It's ended up being a favorite for me. I'd love to see what you think of it! If you want a crazy, wild, funny movie suggestion, I'll go with Death to Smoochy. It's a Danny DeVito pic that stars Edward Norton and Robin Williams.
Thank you again! Layne arrangement coming up this weekend (Oogie Boogie's song). Will be looking at more MT stuff once Hallowe'en is over. I appreciate the film recommendation too - I'll check that out - thank you.
Another terrific reaction!! I love your attention to detail! They need to bring Jose back for another song-been awhile. I’m looking forward to more of these!
Also. It's amazing Jose was a last minute stand in cause the original singer had to back out. He had a short time to learn his lines. Eli took over their parts and Jose did Eli's parts. That's why he's not a featured guest like they usually do.
@@davidkreacts Also Omar Cardona that's in Superstition, Dragonborn Comes Skyrim and a few minis is competing on The Voice. He just finished round 2 earlier this week. He chose John Legend as his coach in the Blind Audition show. The first audition show. Omar is also best friends and roommates with Cesar.
@@davidkreacts I hadn't either until I saw a couple of reactors reacting to his audition video. So had to check it out myself. Now I keep his challenges in my playlist. His audition is there too. You're welcome to check it out. Anything in my playlist is open to anyone so feel free to have a look. I made sure they're all from the artists original channel. The only time I put anything on private is when Voiceplay, Geoff or Pattycake Productions puts a video out for the patrons but not the public.
Can't resist taking you off on a tangent here. This "Short" is from the class at this year's A Cappella Academy. ACA is an annual 10-day intensive vocal music camp where 12 to 18-year-olds from around the world take classes in vocals, performance, theory, composition and arranging, and specialties like beatboxing and bass singing. It was founded in 2014 by Avi Kaplan, Ben Bram (PTX's producer/arranger) and Rob Dietz (composer/arranger), and all 3 men are deeply involved during those 10 days. In this video, you'll hear Avi the teacher and his 13 young bass proteges do a taste of "Hoist the Colors". It's no wonder that Avi's said that ACA is his proudest achievement so far in his life - mentoring and guiding 10 years of vocal students. ruclips.net/user/shortsbRcq_8DEZyc
Yeah, Geoff commented once that Jose actually came up with a lot of suggestions/stage directions for gestures and movements for all of them during the filming and was wonderfully inventive and contributed a lot to the final product!
Although Jose was a last-minute substitution due to travel restrictions for the original artist, he did a great job. He had been performing in the Chicago company of Hamilton before Covid shut down the theaters. Previously he had been a member of the first a cappella group I remember hearing )when my son was young enough to be watching Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego): Rockapella. They really know how to pick the talent to go on these crazy journeys of theirs.
@@janetdw Yes he has. He's very talented. He and Cesar went to school together and we're friends. Jose is only 2 years older than Cesar. They were saying one time that in school Cesar had hurt his foot and Jose helped him up the stairs.
Discovered you looking for reactions to Geoffs latest offering and thoroughly enjoyed your reaction and analysis. I have no musical knowledge myself but keep trying to pick things up from reactors, I have to say I found your explanations much easier to understand, thanks so much. VoicePlay and Geoff do pack a lot of interesting things into their covers often requiring several run through's to catch everything. Subscribed specifically for more Geoff/VP but I like your style so, I'm sure I'll enjoy whatever/whomever else you react to in the future. Also, nice to see a British reactor enthused over Geoff/VP! 🙂👍
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I think I come from a less technical background than some of the other reactors, so my explanations are mostly me trying to express thoughts, but if that translates, then I'm cool with it. :-)
Everrybody in VoicePlay has a pretty good range, yeah. All of them can hit notes in the ledger lines off the bottom of the bass staff, and also off the top of the treble staff. Eli can sing bass and also countertenor, so can Cesar... and it took me a while to realize it, but Layne as well. You don't notice it because he's usually too busy doing percussion, to let his singing voice out much. I'm told he used to sing baritone, back before he started doing percussion, before Scott left; but that was so early in the group's history that it's hard to find evidence of it online; they didn't have a RUclips channel yet or anything. This one stood alone as my all-time favorite VoicePlay song and video, until the recent release of In The Hall of the Mountain King, which is now giving it a serious run for its money. (Layne did the arranging and editing on that one, and it is something really special.) Not that they don't have quite a bit of other good material as well. Other cool stuff besides VoicePlay that is worth reacting to includes the following: * Bloodywood, particularly Gadaar and Aaj. * Namewee, particularly Fragile (It Might Break Your Pinky Heart) and The Wall. * Voctave, The Great Movie Medley * Weird Al Yankovic. An entire rabbit hole all on his own. * Haggard. Renaissance metal. Yes, really, they combine Renaissance-era music, with metal; it works better than you'd expect. * Gabriel Iglesias, The Gift Basket. * 5 Composers 1 Orchestra, David Bruce et. al. * Falling in Reverse, Zombified. * Babymetal; matybe start with iine, or BxMxC. * Zach Rushing, My First Black Cookout. * The Bass Gang, maybe start with Emperor's New Clothes. But don't hesitate to keep exploring the VoicePlay rabbit hole. They might be the very best thing on RUclips (not counting genuinely educational stuff like 3blue1brown, or Wildberger's algebraic topology course; that's an altogether separate category, a different kind of good, and doing reactions to it would be weird).
I have been starting to get the feeling that Layne sings more than he might get credit for sometimes - and I am really enjoying the discovery of how wide everyone's range is! At some point I'm going to go back and look at some of the earlier material - just need to figure out a good order for the HUGE backlog I have to watch. :-D
I have watched all of your reactions so far and they are all amazing!! I love how you go into depth and analyze the music, you have definitely become one of my favorite reactors. I just discovered voiceplay this year and I am so glad that I did, they are just incredibly talented. They always amaze me with their arrangements and just anything that they do. But if you want to dive into something other than voiceplay I would suggest checking out The Bass Gang! They are also an acapella group but they are all basses. In that group there are four members which are Peter Barber, Tomi P, Bobby Bass, and Marwan Ayman. All of them have separate channels also and make their own solo music outside of the group. One of their songs that I would recommend checking out is Centuries. That is one of my favorite releases that they did. Thanks again for the amazing reaction, I'm excited to see more voiceplay, geoff and other reactions!
I love your VoicePlay/Geoff videos and would be very content if you did only them😊😇. They’re my favourite group! But of course I understand if you want to do other things as well. But I personally can’t wait for your next VoicePlay/Geoff reaction!😊 Thank you for sharing your joy and insight with us! Some recommendations: Halloween - “Hide and Seek”, “In the Hall of the Mountain King”, “Friends on the Other Side” and all their songs from “The Nightmare Before Christmas”. Christmas - “You’re a Mean One, Mr Grinch” and Geoff’s “God Rest You Merry Gentlemen”. Other - “The Greatest Show Medley”, “If I Were a Rich Man/ Girl”.
Thank you for another great reaction to Voice Play. Please do a reaction video of Voice Plays cover of Friends On The Other Side. It's another great song that could be considered a Halloween theme. They are known as The Theater Kids of acapella. They started theatrical a capella.
Yeah, awesome choice but need to checkout songs where Geoff uses more subharmonics and the one song (their cover of "Enemy") where he does his lowest growl... important to know the difference in sound, though.
I saw they'd done that - I'm excited to check that out too. I've seen rumblings (pun kind of intended) about Geoff's voice in that video, so I'm excited to get there soon.
So, some of my favorites. The very new Hide and Seek, Oogie Boogie Song, My mother told me, Dragonborn comes, Little mermaid medley, In the halls of the mountain king, This is Hallowing, What's this of Voiceplay. Sixteen tons, Way down, Misty mountains, Monster mash - solo Geoff projects
One of my favourite moments (that everyone misses) is the point near the end where Jose moves the sword down. There's no bass/percussion at that point- only a faint thud of the tip hitting the ground.
Also...someone else may have said it, but very often Eli has a large hand in the lighting effects. They are all so multi-talented. Eli also arranged Eleanor Rigby (one of my favorites)
Thank you! It's difficult not to. :-D Noted re Eli and the lighting too - I've been getting better about running through the credits after my reaction watch recently and have seen how much he's been involved in that, which is impressive. The variety of skills they all have is amazing. Eleanor Rigby is on the list for sure. :-)
I am loving your breakdowns. You are picking up things others haven't. I know you said you have now watched several Voiceplay and Castellucci videos, and you can't react to all of them. So I don't know what you've seen, but in case you haven't seen these, watch My Mother Told Me, In the Hall of the Mountain King, Hide and Seek, The Oogie Boogie man, and Ghost Riders In The Sky. There are many more that are excellent and brilliant. But IMO these are good to start off with. They are great theater.
Thank you so much for the kind words. :-) I haven't seen any of those except Oogie Boogie, and that one is because there's a reaction to it dropping next weekend! The others are all on my to-do list (which is, to set expectations, VERY long already!).
"The everything!" Yeah, that sums up VoicePlay. :) I can't read all the comments atm, so hopefully I'm not being too repetitive, but Jose Rosario, Jr. sings with Rockapella. You might also like The Bass Gang as they seem to be growing more in popularity with reactors just within the past few months. Some of their members like Peter Barber and Tomi P also put out solo content. I'm still learning about them myself.
You got it! I will be checking Home Free out, for sure. I wouldn't describe myself as a country fan, but I certainly enjoy and appreciate it, so I'm excited to see what they do.
There’s a lot of other a cappella groups out there that you should check out as well. Pentatonix, Home Free, the bass gang. Those are just to name a few it’s a lot more that I can’t think off top my head but they’re out there and they got great voices. Thank you for diving into the reactions of the group(s)
You should also react to My Mother Told Me. It also has Jose in it. Voiceplay also has minis. These are short videos less than a minute long. Yes. There are 30 second ones too lol. Most reactors do 3-4 at a time because of the length. Layne's daughter Doris and Geoff son William did the voiceovers for the minis logo at the end. They're 5 years old. Halo Theme video is another very awesome video. No words. All voices. It says 6 minutes but 3 minutes at the end is a special message from Scott Porter. Original member turned famous actor.
Hello I'm new nice to meet you voice play accapella is in a class of there own love them like ,my mother told me, it's a viking hymn and Geoff castelluchi cover of headless horseman lol love it
What else to react to? Honestly I don't get as excited about anything else as much as voiceplay when they have a new one coming out, but there are good ones from their back catalog that don't have a lot of analysis yet, not as Home Free and Pentatonix do. For instance, there are some reactions, but no analysis as far as I know, for Any Way You Want It (not theatrical but featuring Earl and J in top form) or Get Back Up Again (same lineup and one where Layne goes as low as Geoff).
There are two versions of amAny Way You Want It, one with just the guys, but another one (which I kind of like better just because it’s so heartwarming), is with the several hundred kids at Camp a cappella.
If you love acapella music there are 4 great groups and they have their own genres. Pentatonix does pop, medleys and Christmas, Home free does more country style but fabulous! Voctave does Disney style music with those glorious soprano singers. Along with Voiceplay, they all cross over into each other's genres but really don't overlap very much. If you haven't heard any of them, I urge you to react to any and all of them. The fans will come!
Thanks for the info. I heard a bit of Pentatonix years ago, and the other two have been put on my radar - will be getting to them soon (after Hallowe'en).
And you if you like those low low tones, don’t overlook The Bass Gang. They’ve only started recently and they are restricted by very active professional careers as well as the fact that they live in totally different areas and continents. I found them through Peter Barber’s reactions, and have a special fondness for Marwan’s tone. Geoff has a very smooth sound to his deep deep bass. Marwan also has an incredible tone in a totally different way. Both very low bass, but they are so different. They recently released Hide and Seek, but my favorite (so far) is Yellow Flicker Beat.
Another great reaction. Now that you've met the Theater Kids, you might also enjoy two other acapella groups: Home Free (suggest Man of Constant Sorrow) and Pentatonix (suggest Hallelujah).
I love Voice Play! And Pentatonix! And Home Free! But if you like theater and film and haven't seen any of the productions by Star Kids, you gotta go get them! 😂
Huh, my first comment went into the ether, never to come out, apparently. Let me try to remember what I wrote. 😂 I'm always happy to see reactions to VoicePlay. However, I also understand wanting to branch out. For a capella music, you could look into Home Free, Voctave, Pentatonix, Rockapella, etc. There are lots of non-a capella musics out there (and I'm always happy to recommend some of my very non-mainstream favorites! For example, as it's the spooky season, you could take a look at Halloween Girl by Ghosts on the Radio. That's a favorite of mine, for sure.) But if you are interested in branching out into film/television, then you could even look into musical type shows. A favorite in this house is Julie and the Phantoms, which was a short-lived (1 season) and severely underrated TV series on Netflix. Every episode had at least one original song and the whole thing was wonderful. If you have Netflix, and the show is available in your area, I'd recommend that for sure.) But keep doing your reactions and you will be flooded with suggestions for things to react to. 😄
Ooh - Julie and the Phantoms completely passed me by. I'll see if I can check that out, and I have a VPN if the region becomes an issue. I'm not aware of Ghosts on the Radio either - I'll add them to my list of things to check out (as well as a plethora of a capella! :-D)
Voiceplay is one of my favorite acapella groups. Please check out the group, Home Free. I think you will enjoy them as well, and an interesting start is a video they did with Voiceplay called Survivor.
Thank you for the recommendation - I've got Home Free down to do, but I haven't had that video recommended yet. If it's a collab, it could be a very intriguing segue, for sure. :-)
I love your speaking voice David. Anything from Pattycake Productions would be great. Especially Bump In The Night, The Villains Haunted Mansion or The Villains Lair series. But everything is awesome. Owned by Layne, the beatboxer and Tony Wakim, former member. Every video is original to them.
If you are really enjoying their storytelling, you need to check out in the hall of the mountain king which they released last month. It’s spectacular. Keep up the great reactions 👍
I'll be interested to develop that skill. I can definitely see patterns in Geoff's arrangements, but only have one Layne arrangement reaction recorded so far (coming out Saturday).
I would absolutely love it if you continue to review Voiceplay. I so enjoy your reactions. But if you want to expand the a cappella train, then I suggest Brother by Homefree , I See Fire by Peter Hollins, or the Disney Princess medley by Voctive. If you want to expand in other directions Hellfire by Jonathan Young, Piceis by Jinger, or Wicked Game by Diana Ankudinova. But what ever you do watch Diana or Jinger cold. Don’t preview. Else you won’t get the full impact.
I'm loving your reactions and insights! Subscribed for more Voiceplay and Geoff! If you like what they do you might enjoy checking out Patty Cake Productions which is co-owned by Layne Stein the beatboxer from Voiceplay and Tony Wakim Voiceplay's former baritone. They go all out with their productions! In fact, Voiceplay's latest video Hide and Seek (Ding Dong) was filmed at PattyCake Productions' Haunted Mansion set.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that.
I could not agree more - the cohesion in this recording is incredible. Thank you for your comments. :-)
I love that you are doing both a reaction and analysis and can't wait to see what you think of In the Hall of the Mountain King, We are going to have a wonderful ride with you!
Thank you so much! Yes, I'm excited to check that video out too. :-D
Oh, I understand - I feel like I want to watch everything at once! I think I know what the next few will be, but their portfolio is just so big!
Thank you so much for the kind words. Definitely going to keep going. Got some more videos in the can for the next couple of weeks. :-)
@@ilonadever8249
That was for Omar Cardona.
@@ronsbrat525 I've seen those too. So funny. X
Nothing to apologise for. :-)
I got a kick out of Rick Underwood being the beard wrangler in Geoff's Ghost Riders in the Sky.
@@bjspeck4337
Yeah. That was funny 😂
That's awesome. Makes complete sense too - they have the professionalism, enthusiasm, and total sense of fun to have that as a background. Awesome re Rick Underwood too!
Haha! That's brilliant! Will be getting to that video in due course. (So many to watch!)
@@davidkreacts
They formed the group in 1997 under the name 4:2:5. But changed it in 2010 because no one knew what it meant. That's when Eli joined.
Live version, no makeup, with Emoni Wilkins (she's in the Wicked Medley) who toured with VP after The Sing-Off: ruclips.net/video/sRcwUdnKV58/видео.html
Full makeup and costumes, with Honey La Rochelle, who competed with VP on The Sing-Off: ruclips.net/video/yYzwzbqUJXk/видео.html
High tenor Earl Elkins left VP in 2020.
* "prog" rock.....stupid autocorrect!
Thank you so very much! I'm really glad you enjoy my work, and I hope I continue to live up to your praise. :-)
I got what you were going for. ;-)
This piece is known among fans as the reactor killing piece.😄
We seldom recommend it as a starting piece for new reactors.
Based on my watches so far, I couldn’t agree more with how well they choose their guests. Excited to see more!
Eli is also called the "Rock Tenor" because of the power in his voice. And before Voiceplay he was in a rock band.
I love this song. I have it on my playlist.
That does not surprise me. Do you know the band's name? I'd like to check them out too.
@@davidkreacts if you want to see Eli before Voiceplay search Eli Black (stage name) he performe with his band
I started watching reactions to the songs I've already reacted to, and I know exactly where you're coming from!
@@davidkreacts VP and Geoff's fans/patrons are very loyal and enthusiastic, as you will discover. :)
Geoff showed the VP "brand" on his right forearm in the BTS. Supposedly all the guys have one, we just can't really see them. I'm betting it helped them be in character.
@@CynicalTesuji One of Layne's mini-Dachshunds is named Melo, short for Melodyne. 🤣
I believe you would love some of the Pattycake Productions videos. They do theatrical stuff. The studio is owned by Tony Wakim (former Voiceplay member) and Layne Stein (Voiceplay beatboxer)
Ooh - I didn't realise they had their own videos. I will check those out for sure!
@@davidkreacts look up The Villian’s Lair. That will get you to the right channel and a fun starting point.
@@EbonRaven Noted - I will do so. :-)
Another great tip for when you're watching any Voice Play videos is to never stop a Video from them until the credits roll.
Yes - I had a few people mention that, but not before I filmed the first few videos - I start doing that properly from the next one, I think.
Though I'm sure you will eventually branch out from here.
"You almost want to sway with them", he says as I'm swaying along as I do every time I see this video.🤣
I really enjoy your descriptors in this one about the pacing and the feeling of movement like we're on water. You have a great vocabulary.
Can't wait for more!
Thank you very much! I'm glad you're enjoying the videos. More coming soon. :-D
I’ve also noticed that in Ghost Riders in the Sky everybody seems to be galloping along🏇🐴🐎.
Bass gang is also really good
They're on my list - I'll get to them (though the list is very long!).
Thank you so much! I'm glad you're enjoying my videos. Looking forward to checking many more videos out, including your recommendations here. :-)
@@janetdw It seems that way! Excited to see more of it. :-D
You are one of the few reactors I never get tired of as far as your analysis. I appreciate you so much. Of course, I could listen to Geoff and VP all day long!
Thank you very much - that is extremely kind. :-)
Thank you, I think I have just found a new great reactor/analyst in you👍keep it going!
Thank you so much! Will do. :-)
Great reaction again your knowledge shows. I don't think we have seen Cesar's full range yet but Layne also has the same range as Geoff so I can only imagine Cesar's range is as near as the other's
Thank you so much! And that's incredible - they're all so talented!
This Is their best work for me. Sometimes Geoff go so low, he reaches Hell's basement. The devil is afraid to look down there in the dark... GEOFF HAMMERHAND, the Horn of Helm's Deep!
Understandable - it truly is exceptional. Geoff Hammerhand indeed!
In my head I always think of Cesar, Jose, and Eli as 'the Three Tenors' in this video. 😃
Their voices are so different and yet blend so beautifully.
Cheers to another great reaction and analysis! Looking forward to more Voice Play, more Geoff and (hopefully) more acapella.
That seems like a very apt name to me! I totally agree.
Thank you so much! I’m very excited to watch the Queen medley, for sure. Will be checking out the other groups soon too. :-)
Thank you so much! I have those on my to-do list, but then it is exceptionally long given the backlog I have to catch up on!
Oh, and I'm pretty sure that Geoff takes the low end of a piano as a personal challenge...
Truth be told, when I first saw the length of your reaction, I thought it was too much.
Another one I didn't see suggested (maybe I missed it), is "Tennessee Whiskey".
Always, always interested in Voiceplay reactions/analysis! Cannot get enough of either. ❤
Glad you found me, and I hope I continue to live up to your enjoyment.
The minis are also done live.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you're enjoying, and I'll add Road Trip to my to-do list.
I’m glad you enjoy them, and thank you. :-)
Thank you! And yes - I'd love to hear more of him.
Also. It's amazing Jose was a last minute stand in cause the original singer had to back out. He had a short time to learn his lines. Eli took over their parts and Jose did Eli's parts. That's why he's not a featured guest like they usually do.
That is extraordinary - just goes to show the talent and versatility of everyone involved.
@@davidkreacts
Exactly. They're all awesome with awesome guests.

Omar Cardona that's in Superstition, Dragonborn Comes Skyrim and a few minis is competing on The Voice. He just finished round 2 earlier this week. He chose John Legend as his coach in the Blind Audition show. The first audition show.
Omar is also best friends and roommates with Cesar.

I hadn't either until I saw a couple of reactors reacting to his audition video.
My favorite part of this video is when Jose lifts the sword then lowers it across his neck. So dramatic and cool. I sometimes do it with him.
I get that - such a powerful and meaningful gesture. :-)
Yeah, Geoff commented once that Jose actually came up with a lot of suggestions/stage directions for gestures and movements for all of them during the filming and was wonderfully inventive and contributed a lot to the final product!
@@patriciaschuman4205
Yep. Jose is awesome in My Mother Told Me and all the minis he's done with them. He's so talented.
@@janetdw
Yes he has. He's very talented. He and Cesar went to school together and we're friends. Jose is only 2 years older than Cesar. They were saying one time that in school Cesar had hurt his foot and Jose helped him up the stairs.
We don’t talk about Bruno
Yes! Looking forward to checking that out soon.
Jose sings tenor for the group Rockapella most of the time and is/was singing as part of the local to him Hamilton cast.
Both of those things are awesome and neither one surprises me. He’s an excellent performer.
@@davidkreacts Totally agreed! (I have a big soft spot for Rockapella, and I was thrilled when he joined.)
Gahhhh I'm so sad we didn't get to see your face when you finally do catch Geoff's epic octave jump!
There's a similar response coming to a different jump in a reaction dropping next Tuesday. ;-)
HA Ha Ha, how many time did you say "WOW!" Great reaction!
Not enough? ;-) Yeah - I'm still getting floored by the quality of their work.
Other cool stuff besides VoicePlay that is worth reacting to includes the following:
* Bloodywood, particularly Gadaar and Aaj.
* Namewee, particularly Fragile (It Might Break Your Pinky Heart) and The Wall.
* Voctave, The Great Movie Medley
* Weird Al Yankovic. An entire rabbit hole all on his own.
* Haggard. Renaissance metal. Yes, really, they combine Renaissance-era music, with metal; it works better than you'd expect.
* Gabriel Iglesias, The Gift Basket.
* 5 Composers 1 Orchestra, David Bruce et. al.
* Falling in Reverse, Zombified.
Thank you so much for the kind words, encouragement, and for the info. I'll definitely check out The Bass Gang before too long. :-)
Agreed, but my fave so far is Yellow Flicker Beat.
Great reaction, Sir!! Thank you!! :)
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. :-)
Thank you so much! New Geoff coming soon, and Oogie Boogie landing next week. So much more to explore, and I'm really looking forward to it.
Thank you for a great reaction. Impressed that you know their names....I'm a big fan of VP.
Thank you! The community has been exceptionally helpful in helping me get up to speed very quickly. :-)
I will be doing that. Not sure I'll get to it before Hallowe'en, but since it's Disney, I can fit it in elsewhere. :-)
Thank you - I've got a solid list going, so will be getting to these, but not sure what order - there's so much to watch!
@@davidkreacts as an idea - you may want to start from Halloween stuff since it's the season. Or do it chronologically and admire the progression
One of my favourite moments (that everyone misses) is the point near the end where Jose moves the sword down. There's no bass/percussion at that point- only a faint thud of the tip hitting the ground.
I just went back and specifically listened for that - such an awesome moment, and I did indeed completely miss it. That's very powerful.
Voice play warriors has violins and it really gets me emotional xx
Ooh - that sounds very intriguing. It's on the list - just trying to figure out prioritising their entire catalogue! ;-)
Really enjoyed all your reactions. You pointed out many details that I haven't noticed even I have listened them many times so far. Great job!!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you're getting something out of my videos. :-)
Fun to see you get so excited about how great they are
Also...someone else may have said it, but very often Eli has a large hand in the lighting effects. They are all so multi-talented. Eli also arranged Eleanor Rigby (one of my favorites)
Thank you! It's difficult not to. :-D
Noted re Eli and the lighting too - I've been getting better about running through the credits after my reaction watch recently and have seen how much he's been involved in that, which is impressive.
Haha - I'm glad you agree! I'm looking forward to branching out just as much as I am to more Geoff/VP, and appreciate the recommendations - thank you.
Marwan also has quite a few videos as well as some shorts that show his range. He has a very unique tone to his voice.
yes! please continue your reactions to Voiceplay! you might also like Homefree who are more country music but are very talented ❤🏴
You got it! I will be checking Home Free out, for sure. I wouldn't describe myself as a country fan, but I certainly enjoy and appreciate it, so I'm excited to see what they do.
Enjoyed this so much. Really excited that you'll hopefully get to Dragonborn Comes and My Mother Told Me.
Thank you! I will in time, for sure. So many to go! (I like this problem.)
There’s a lot of other a cappella groups out there that you should check out as well. Pentatonix, Home Free, the bass gang. Those are just to name a few it’s a lot more that I can’t think off top my head but they’re out there and they got great voices. Thank you for diving into the reactions of the group(s)
Thank you! Going to do a few more VP and Geoff, and then delve into others. Looking forward to it!
Ooh - thank you for the info and recommendations. I'll check those out for sure!

You're very welcome 😁
Hello I'm new nice to meet you voice play accapella is in a class of there own love them like ,my mother told me, it's a viking hymn and Geoff castelluchi cover of headless horseman lol love it
Welcome, Bob! Yes, they absolutely are. :-)
Interesting - I'll make a point to swing by those soon. Thanks for the recommendations.
Thank you! Yes, I'm going to branch out a bit in a few videos' time. :-)
@@davidkreacts That's fantastic. I love your analysis of the group and look forward to seeing your take on the rest of the trinity of acapella!
I love Voice Play! And Pentatonix! And Home Free!
But if you like theater and film and haven't seen any of the productions by Star Kids, you gotta go get them! 😂
Laine has alot of arrangements and production also.
I've seen a couple of his - I'm looking forward to getting into more of them. :-)
Huh, my first comment went into the ether, never to come out, apparently. Let me try to remember what I wrote. 😂
I'm always happy to see reactions to VoicePlay.
Got to watch VP's version of If I Were A Rich Man, too!!!
Yup - I'm thinking I might do a musical theatre section at some point.
Especially
Bump In The Night, The Villains Haunted Mansion or The Villains Lair series.
But everything is awesome.
Owned by Layne, the beatboxer and Tony Wakim, former member.
Every video is original to them.
Thank you very much. :-) I have Pattycake on my to-do-soon list - just trying to figure out the order of my next few videos.

Ok cool 😎
Was just giving you a few suggestions.
I have them, Voiceplay and Geoff on my Patreon. Well worth it.
If you are really enjoying their storytelling, you need to check out in the hall of the mountain king which they released last month. It’s spectacular. Keep up the great reactions 👍
Thanks for the recommendation. I'm hoping to look at that soon. :-)
Geoff arranged this one. I don't know much about music but I'm getting better at picking out Geoff's arrangements from Layne's.
I'll be interested to develop that skill. I can definitely see patterns in Geoff's arrangements, but only have one Layne arrangement reaction recorded so far (coming out Saturday).
I enjoy your reactions. If you do react to their rendition of 'My Mother Told Me", Geoff sounds like a human Gjallerhorn.
Amazing! I'll be getting to that - just such a huge portfolio to work through!
Thank you! There will definitely more VP and Geoff, but thanks for the other recommendations too. :-)
Thank you so much! I have Pattycake's channel on my to-do list for sure. Looking forward to checking out their work, as well as more Geoff and VP. :-)
Great reaction
Please react to voiceplay in the Hall of Mountain King it s awesome ( with no lyrics they can tell a story)
Thank you. It's on the list! Got a few coming before that, but I'm looking forward to it. :-)
More voiceplay. More Geoff. But id recommend “the emporers new clothes” by the bass gang if you want something different.
Definitely, definitely, and ooh - thank you - that one's new to me!
Bass Gang is awesome, I had planned on recommend them too, but later, after a few more VP/ Geoff reactions.
@@carinarodebak9419 I’m throwing him off the deep end of the pool.
@@Starrynightdiner I begin to think he can take them in his stride. So Mad World after Emperor's?
