    Neat idea, thanks for sharing! The more I see Z scale, the more tempted I become to try out a small project like this.. I'm just afraid it will become "endless" in an entirely different way.

      That’s what happened with me and n scale. I wanted a small layout and I wanted 1 loco with 5 or so cars. Now I have 6 locos and about 30 cars. Even though I have tons of ho stuff

    "Watch the train as it circles, You are getting veery sleepy"
    Fun little thing
    Seeing your small N scale layout inspired me to build one to place within the christmas tree, 2 piece module. Thank you, it was a blast to build!

    I’m seriously thinking of getting into Z scale to model the 1970s Australian NSW railways that I remember as a 7 year old. That will involve a lot of train customisation and scratch building.

    The reminds me of that old video of an HO layout (I think) that had two loops, with a crossing. One loop was right outside the warehouse/industrial building, the other was just inside the building, and the locomotive would *almost* whack the end of the last car as it went over the crossing and disappear into the building...then repeat that on the way out and then around the building. Very clever, and very well modeled!! EDIT: Found the video here: ruclips.net/video/wXvVTodbHbY/видео.htmlsi=3ZpdO7XfylND7ROE

    Do this with a locomotive disguised as a box car. Where does it start? Where does it end?

    Hi Steve,
    What’s the turn radius on this layout? I’m thinking of getting into Z scale and wondering how short the minimum turn radius can get.

    • @AlwaysCensored-xp1be
      @AlwaysCensored-xp1be 6 месяцев назад +2

      195mm radius, but Rokuhan can go down to 45 mm radius

    • @StevesTrains
      @StevesTrains  6 месяцев назад +2

      I’ll have to check and measure it. Might be like 7” or something like that. You can get smaller radius track of course.

    I have n scale, will Kato track work with Backman track?

    • @StevesTrains
      @StevesTrains  6 месяцев назад

      No, you would need to create a transition piece of some kind. The actual rail is about the same but the roadbed and connectors are completely different.

    Do you model with ho scale or just micro

      I’ve done a few layouts in HO that I have videos of along with N and Z. I’ve done one O gauge layout and starting another O gauge layout along with a small On30 layout soon.

      I’ll probably have to do that. I don’t actually think it would be that much harder to work on than N scale.

    That was a good little adventure. Z scale is just too small for me. But they run very well. Steve I do have a question. When doing scenery and track blasting do you need to glue the track down. When you are using Kato unitrack . Because of all the glue you are using it should run under the road bed. How do you feel about this. Thanks for sharing. Have a good week. 😎😎 👍

  • @bdlii

    Where is Z scale popular? Seems so tiny and challenging to enjoy or work on. Even at shows I tend to give it a quick glance but don’t pay it much attention. N scale is small but I can understand the allure.
    As for the graffiti I can understand modeling what’s out there. But the graffiti looks awful in the real world and same on the layout. IMHO of course.
    As for your videos and sharing of knowledge, your channel is top notch and I always enjoy your content.

      I agree graffiti looks aweful on models, but that's because I'm 76 years old and remember when no one did that to trains.
