  • www.XeroShoes.com -- Here's a quick barefoot sandal lacing tip. It's good for people who want to experiment with fun lacing styles, but it's also good if you're one of the rare people who wears out the outside ankle area of your lace.
What you'll learn in this video is how to take a small section of your Xero Shoes laces and make a small loop that you'll pass through the ankle hole. Because you will have melted the lace to make the loop, you'll have a hard plastic "bead" that comes in contact with the ground, rather than the lace itself.
Once you see how to do this, you might also realize that you can use this same loop idea for the toe hole in your huaraches sandals (We've included a picture of a shoe that's laced that way).
Enjoy... and to get your own barefoot sandals, go to www.XeroShoes.com.

Man, I wish you knew how much my Xero shoes mean to me. If I had to leave my home suddenly, they are one thing I would definitely grab on the way out. Just my fave shoe evahhhh.. I know you put a lot of research and experience into designing them, because I saw you on Shark Tank, then went straight to your site and bought a pair. That was about 12 or more years ago, and my Xeros are still just like brand new. No wear at all on them. Just amazzzzzzing. I tell others about them, too. :) God bless you, sir. You are also very pleasant to watch on video, because your eyes have kindness and sincerity in them.

I just used this method with loops on the sides. Works perfect! An added advantage is that the loops are a bit higher and therefore the heelstrap stays a bit higher and therefore in place on the heel. Thanks for this tip!

So, I found this video, because one of my plugs popped out, after about 10 years. :) And, thanks to you, I find the little loop that you can put on the sides to resist abrasion; although, I have had no issues with it thus far. But, that is such a cool idea, because, like you said, it makes lacing quick and easy. Females can also create the two loops on the sides, and lace ribbon, lace, or leather through to create a new style, a matching shoe, effortlessly; while still retaining the comfort and ergonomics of the Xero sole. I just love these. A favorite thing. You know, you remind me of the guy who invented the Big Bubble Thing. He put a lot of research into his design. It is another of my favorite things that I believe should be part of every, single childhood. Check it out if you get time, especially if you have children or grandchildren. You can buy cheap versions, but I believe in putting the money toward the person who invented the thing, not the copycats trying to hang onto their skirt tails and getting rich off somebody else's effort, so please buy thee real one. I knnow you would anyway, because of who you are.

I was wondering if a video has been made dealing with a tying method that includes three plugs like briefly shown towards the end of the video. Has anyone tried it?

i've asked but haven't seen anything so far. If you look at the end of the video it shows a photo but it's NOT laced huarache style...so i am thinking it kind of defeats the purpose?

simple but I woudnt have think about it. Its nice to see you have progressed into a bigger collective from that diy videos which were great too. Both is very ok. Come on, such a firm should be able to get their hands on a conductive rubber and make me a pair of true Earth Runners. My progress will be your progress. Everyone will want it. Everyone needs a progress. I was thinking about it as my business plan but its too much for a beginner

Thanks for the kind words. We've expanded a LOT since we started back in 2009.
FWIW, it's not that we can''t "get our hands on a conductive rubber," it that there isn't such a product currently. Rather the few rubber products that have been treated to have any conductivity are not useful for footwear.

I know I know, when its not 2% graphene but graphite it has to be over 30% and its not durable but there are electrostatic discharge materials (ESD) which is nothing new in the electro industry and oil industry. When you searchengine conductive rubber boots theres plenty of them (but no huaraches :))

Boots are a WHOLE different thing than natural-movement (flexible and durable) sandals.

True, but I think many people would enthusiastically take the grounding element in exchange for Tarahumara less flexible tire style. It could be an interresting line
