Thanks for the lesson. There's also an easy pinch harmonic effect on the high e string at the 12th fret after the E chord and at the 7th fret after the E chord.

HI LAUREN! Liked and subscribed. Question: many teachers (on and off of RUclips), seem to emphasize (over emphasize?) specific strumming patterns (and picking, etc..) when performing a Cover. Personally, I believe someone can pick and or strum a song any way that they feel comfortable doing,. I've been playing for so many years, that learning another picking/strumming style seems a bit like re inventing the wheel. But its a Conundrum that I find myself in when learning covers because I feel "Lazy" (or whatever) and guilty (etc..) when I feel like I "MUST" learn it in that particular style , etc.. (like this song). But That is what makes a cover more "you", then the original artist, etc. What are your thoughts on this subject? Thanks much.
Quick question. When switching from E to A has anyone considered using fingers 2, 3 and 4 for A instead of 1, 2 and 3? I find it easier personally -- just remove 1st finger from the E chord, drop the other two fingers down and add the 4th finger. Just a thought.
Thank you, Anthony for the recommendation. I get lots of song requests so I cannot guarantee that I will get to it, but I will definitely add it to my list
Thank you, Brenda for the recommendation. I get lots of song requests so I cannot guarantee that I will get to it, but I will definitely add it to my list.
Just a suggestion: It would help imho to play the song in full both in the intro...and then again at the end of lesson....just so beginners can see and hear the song played as an integral whole.
That was really fun adding the various strumming patterns with the song. However, I couldn't sing and strum simultaneously. Quite similar to the first time trying to rub your tummy and pat your head at the same time. 😄 I'm not giving up though
So far I've seen different chords on the lyrics "goin' down". I've seen recommendations that chord will stay on the A, go to the D, or go to the C. I play a G. Can someone ask Stephen Stills? All options sound okay. My least favorite is staying on the A.
