- Hey guys welcome back to the channel. In this video I managed to get my hands on a brand new 2022 Yamaha F115LB outboard motor for my 2008 Double Eagle 176. In the video I review the motor, go over the options, the warranty, talk about the breakin period, and a do a test on the water with it. I did not take the motor to max throttle but you can see how it pushes the boat. If you have any questions or comments please leave them in the comment section below. Please feel free to leave a like or share this video. Don't forget to SUBSCRIBE so you don't miss any future content. I have lots of how to vids on my channel if your interested. Thanks for watching!, and see ya in the next one.

Hello to you
Just found this video, very informative. Nice boat also
Thanks again
Hey Kevin. Glad it was helpful for ya. Cheers!
I just bought one of these myself. They are putting it on at the dealership now. Can't wait to try it out. Glad to hear you like yours. Really looking forward to having a BRAND NEW ENGINE.......on my 34 year old boat. Good video. Thanks!
Congratulations you will love it. So quiet and pretty good on fuel. Cheers
great review thank you
Thanks for the feedback. Cheers!
Nice new force Stroke
Thanks Connor. She runs sweet. Maybe we will get out on the boat that catches some fish haha.
nice smooth motor!
Ya super impressed with it. I think the rev limiter is at 6100rpm. I bet this thing will do 35-37mph if I pushed it and trimmed up properly.
@@bigair0176 we have the identical set up and literally same amount of time on ours . like you super happy with it . we had a 115 2 smoke and there is no comparison we were 5900 rpm at 40 mph . we have a video of old and new motors if youre interested . you are gonna love the motor . cheers love the video and the lake
@@piniongears yes love it. It’s going in for its first service of 20 hours tomorrow. Been a solid motor. Super quiet at idle. You don’t even know it’s running lol. Cheers!
I ran water through the flush port and fired up the engine. Bad idea! Engine stayed cool but the impeller melted and glued itself to the water pump housing. Then it shattered the next time I fired it up. I'm glad I test ran the engine before heading all the way to Whittier, AK. Dewes in Anchorage came in clutch with parts even though it was closing time.
Damn dude. That sucks. Glad you noticed it. Cheers
Nice clean boat. Trying to decide between the same motor or the 150hp version on my key west 1900 dual console
I love the new motor. The 115 will be a bit more fuel efficient but on a 19ft it might be better to run the 150 and still get a decent fuel economy with the 150 as it won’t work as hard as the 115. But I love mine.
I had a 2006 F115A yamaha on my Hewescraft 180 Searunner. It was good most of the time. It was under powered with heavy loads and in rough water. I upgraded to a F150, it is a diferent boat. It is better on fuel in all conditions except WOT. I'd never turn my nose up at a 115 especially the 115 B but for my situation the 150 is better all around.
With a 17 pich prop at 3500 Rpm in ideal condition I get 5mpg at 25mph.
If your dealership is decent see if they will lend you some props. Mine lent me some and it was fun to try the different ones. I bought the one was was best for me and it is not the one I would have chose.
Double Eagle is looking real good. Nice boat. What's next?
I have a new t9.9 to install and review. Just waiting on some parts for install.
I would definitely run a 13x19 pitch prop with the size of boat you have. I have a heavy aluminum boat with the same outboard and I run 48mph at 5500 rpm
Yikes that is fast haha nice! I will keep that in mind for sure. Cheers
I agree, you need a prop change. I have a 21’ pontoon with a Yamaha F90 and I get about 35-37mph. You should be well over 40mph.
I've got the same boat with a 135hp Merc 2 stroke running a 21 pitch blade. Agree with others to swap to something higher than 15 pitch
@@bigair0176 Send me a Brand New Mercury uh Yamaha 2004 90 4 stroke sorry.
I am in Louisiana and most people run a stainless steel prop with a larger pitch.
Nice. I will probably run this for a bit and maybe upgrade in the future.
we have 150hp, 40hp, 75hp, 300hp, 140hp, 225hp, 250hp, 200hp, 100hp, 115hp, all 4 stroke for sale
Let me know if you’re interested
We run stainless because of the oyster reefs and logs.
Nice Boat ! i think you can chip this engine up to 130 hp. recently i have gotten yamaha 115hp 2016 modell. looks exatly same as yours :)
Oh nice!
What prop would you run with a Hewescraft Sportsman 200 with this motor?
I would test it stock first or if your buying it new from dealer make sure they put the right prop on for you. My dealership did a sea trial for position in the water and prop efficiency. So depends on your preference. The weight of the boat and a few other factors will play into it. Let me know how you make out. Good luck. Cheers!
Misinformation on the fuel octane, that has nothing to do with efficiency. Octane is used to stop knock, higher compression motors need higher octane. It might be possible for tuners set their timing to where you need higher octane, I don’t think that is scientific.
Have same size boat with same 90 hp 2 stroke and thinking of replacing with Yamaha 115. What was top speed with your 90 hp ? Interested in top speed comparison between the two motors.
I think I was about 36/37 with the 90 and I am about 38/39 with the 115. The 115 gets there way faster. Obviously having the torque of the 115 in rougher water is. Much nicer for sure. In the end the top speed can always be changed. The speed it gets there will be the difference.
20 inch shaft is a short shaft. 25 is considered a long shaft
What is the fuel consumption at the 4000 rpm ?
Thanks
Don’t I show it in the video?
@@bigair0176 I don't think I've seen it, it shows consumption at 4500
I got a brand new 115 sounds like it's breathing heavy at idle any idears thanks
Could be just the airflow. Not sure what ya mean breathing heavy? Sounds like a jet?
@@bigair0176 it sounds like and in and out noise at idle like someone is breathing
@@bigair0176 I just posted a video on utube any help would be great
Looking to upgrade to the same power pack
How much was it for everything
Roughly 20k
That must be a heavy boat
2500lbs I believe

we have 150hp, 40hp, 75hp, 300hp, 140hp, 225hp, 250hp, 200hp, 100hp, 115hp, all 4 stroke for sale
Let me know if you’re interested.,
115 what year
Lll
Definitely need a different prop.. really poor performance
Works fine for what I need it to do. It has a great holeshot and is decent on fuel at cruising speed. Not sure why you feel that way. What is it that makes it poor performance?
@@bigair0176 25mph at 4400rpm? I have Much bigger boat with a 150 and get 32mph at 4000 rpm with better fuel economy. You should get as close as you can to 6000rpm at wot as well.. means engine is working at better efficiency
