On a large scale using a waste heat generator in the Summer along with a heat pump. Remember I'm cannabis oriented. Staging solar thermal along with a heat pump in the Summer bypassing the thermal battery. Remember the waste heat generator will make the heat pump cheap.
Thank you for the video! I saw a swamp cooler cooled greenhouse in Namibia. They used Saltwater from the sea to cool down the hot desert air and moisten it. They use way less fresh water for the plants that way. I know this is probably not needed for Winnipeg still wanted to share this innovativ idea.
Keep in mind as you place the evap cooler into operation is that it will help to have fresh air coming in, and an exhaust in play also. Otherwise the humidity will increase to uncomfortable levels. Your existing window/box fans may come in handy (probably on low speed).
Another idea to maybe cool it down is building a thermal mass pile on the north side and put a pipe trough the bottom. some vents into the top of the greenhouse to get some thermosyphon going. Then hot air leaves the top Vents and Draws in colder air from the thermal mass piles north side(Shaded). Basic concept they also use in Earthships for cooling. Idk if it would be enough since your greenhouse probably won´t have as much thermal mass as an Earthship building.
Hi Scott, I'm looking at the map behind you 1:15 and it looks like to me both Calgary and Edmonton are both north of Winnipeg. Are they not major cities? j/k Cheers Bill
good news and bad news - bad new is I can't legally grow weed here, good news is growing tomatoes is almost identical to growing weed, so most anything you see on tomatoes transfers to weed growing.
What do you think the best way to cool a greenhouse is?

Very cool! and smart way to get usable moisture from salt water!
Neato! I inquire, does the salt add energy to the phase shift? Resulting in a cooler system?
Brilliant use of best available option.
@@GotDangJosh hadn't even thought about that. My understanding right now does not allow me to give you an answer because it might be wrong.

Thanks for the info!

Good tip!
Nice
Thanks
You don't have part 2 listed in your videos
Woops, I need to do that. Thanks

Bill
Edmonton is further north, but Winnipeg is colder. Anchorage Alaska is way further north, but Winnipeg is colder. it's not just about latitude.
Where is part 2?
coming!!!!!!!!
Can I just run the cooling pad without using the fans
you need airflow to get the cooling
Dude grow some weed please. Thanks for all this knowledge.
