The fact that Monstro Town is in this made me really happy. A lot of SMRPG songs are overshadowed by Forest Maze. It's a great song, but there are so many other great songs in Mario RPG that aren't Forest Maze.
Super Mario RPG is probably the video game that is closest to my heart. It taught me to read, I remember drawing Mario and Geno in my journal in Kindergarten, so excited to get home and return to that magical world. My best friend staying the night collecting the stars. Seeing the wishes on Star Hill and believing someone somewhere was listening to my own wishes. Hard to put into words it means to me. Hearing Yoko Shimamura's work translated for the orchestra is a joy to listen to and brings me back to those golden days of my early childhood. Thanks very much for sharing this
It really is a fantastic game, isn't it? Your story is so adorable, I'm glad this amazing game got to be part of your childhood! I myself have very fond memories of it when I was a kid. Here's hoping we can see another game like this again, specially our friend from the stars Geno! No matter how many times I replay it, the game is still incredible and a joy to play through : )
@Anti Guy thank you bro. It had it's ups and downs. I grew up pretty poor by US standards. I'm from up a holler in West Virginia and when the well ran dry we had to collect rain water to flush the toilet. Nintendo was my window to the outside world. But I played in the woods a lot, had a lot of friends. And growing up that way really made me appreciate the little things in life. I see you're also a fan of the Mario RPGs with your Anti-Guy profile pic so we're kindred spirits. I hope you can find the silver linings in your own childhood and life, brother.
0:09 Hello, Happy Kingdom 1:36 Beware the Forest's Mushrooms 2:29 My Paradise - Monstro Town - 4:35 Here's Some Weapons! 5:12 Happy Parade, Delightful Parade/And the Parade Draws to a Close... Quel beau arrangement, merci !
In my university, you'd be able to hear it from outside a little bit. (Doors were pretty sound proof too). One time I had someone walk in on me during an end of the year voice jury. Pretty mad about that, they had a terrible excuse too: "I booked the hall"
I love this music but I'm sure people would've been very confused in the classical period (around the time of Mozart and Beethoven) and probably would've denounced it as improper compositional structure because of how different it is to what they were used to back then. But I think it would fit in just fine in the late romantic or modernist period (around the turn of the 20th century).
To be honest, I feel Super Mario RPG OST, for some reason, sounds so much to Romanticism. It's just like perfect for a 19th century ballet acclimated in the Medieval Age. Meanwhile, Super Mario Bros. games are all jazzy.
Damn! This is incredible! One of the best SMRPG arrangements by far. This game is very close to my heart, and I can't thank you enough for orchestrating this.
ALL of the game's music is AWESOME, but forest maze... Oh god... I remember recording this song on cassette looping for hours, and having this as my BGM with walkmans...
Okay...a few things first: 1.) Anyone else randomly hum the tunes to Mushroom Kingdom or Forest Maze when out and about? 2.) Why am I ugly crying right now?!?! Like when Bowser hits himself on Boosters door 😭😭😭
Nearly got chills. SMRPG is one of the most embedded VG soundtracks of my youth, I recognize every note here (minus a couple added transitions). The orchestrations are pretty close to the game sounds. How dare you prey on my nostalgia, OJV!
Recently played it again not too long ago and honestly you don't need to update anything really. Controls are still amazing and the graphics are still one of a kind. But that's just my opinion and wouldn't mind a remake if they did it really well. It just holds up on its on own very well in my eyes.
I'm sitting here listening to a *stunning* arrangement from my favorite childhood video game, with my own children sitting next to me. Thank you so much for this.
@@kitsinthewebs222okay first of all, did I say in my comment that NINTENDO should hire those guys to compose for the remake (which is now real?) Second of all: dreams come true 😂
Thank you so much. Nintendo and Square have let this wonderful franchise die, but I'm glad the memory lives on with the fans and through beautiful tributes like this. This is my all-time favorite mario game
I've lost count of the times I've come back to hear this performance. These are the melodies of my most cherished game and my childhood. Absolutely wonderful!
This game is so special to me. It was great to find orchestrated. My favorite one is the Forest maze song 💜 I was happy to hear it and I wish other songs were included like Booster tower, Booster hill, Star hill, Barrel volcano or even the bonus song. It's hard to decide 😅 I guess a need a whole SMRPG soundtrack.
In a medley arrangement, you start to hear the overtones of Mario's long and triumphant march back to Bowser's Keep. I was lucky enough to perform John Phillip Souza's pieces and many other marches in various wind ensembles growing up. This took me back to that place as a percussionist who would want to be on that xylophone! Lastly, I can also say Super Mario RPG is one of my all-time favorite RPGs. What a treat this is. Thank you.
@@j.c.dicklegproductions9248 This is a game where Chrom can get final smashed by Chrom in his cameo in Robin's final smash. Do we really believe PNGs are relevant in a characters inclusion?

I think this game was my introduction to Yoko Shimomura's music - not that I was really aware of composers in 7th grade, being more "I like this music" in places like the Moleville Minecart Ride and "This part always makes me laugh" in places like Margarie Margarita.
I would love to see you guys do a part too. I personally would love to See Culex boss theme. Anyways fantastic arrangement as always. Cheers and Merci!
This is making the hairs on my body go up cause it’s fucking accurate and good ugh I miss renting super Mario rpg from some beat up video store as a kid, the ones with the funny video store smell inside. And with the hidden porn section with a curtain that I would always be curious about haha. Good times
You guys bring tears of joy to this gamer's eyes. This is my favorite game ever.
Amen.
JONDUB27 no?
Literally crying here, hoping no one notices as I'm at work XD
But yes, this is beautiful
so many fond memories of my childhood and the hours of happy time playing this awesome game

And now we'll be able to hear those masterpieces in the remake.
Literally why I came to youtube. I got a taste of the orchestral music in the remake trailer and man! It hit so fuckin hard, I needed to hear more.
Let’s a gooo!!!!

@ OP, like the Booster Tower jam.

im really warming up to it, but forest maze is such a fun song to play on guitar

Could you imagine getting lost at school and accidentally walking into a lecture hall where this was going on.
I'd start to look out for top-hat-wearing purple dinosaur thieves.
not exactly a lecture hall
I wouldn't even continue to look for the place I was looking for, I'd just sit and enjoy

Hire these guys to compose Super Mario RPG Remake for the Switch.
Ask Square Enix, not Nintendo

Yoko Shimomura made an amazing soundtrack and this versions is great too
I was unaware that she made the SMRPG:LotSS soundtrack.
Hunter St. Arnold She's composed the music for most Mario RPGs, except the Paper Mario series.
I hope she composes some tracks In the gen 10 Pokemon game
Mallow - “I’m a frog,but I can’t jump. Embarrassing huh?”

Wtf vous faites quoi là vous et mtn ?
Heuuu vous sortez de où!? Super jeu mario rpg, aidez nous à ramener la hype pls
Absolutely, stunningly beautiful. This game means so much to me. You did it such justice.
This arrangement has large feature film quality, you can tell Yoko Shimomura was a genius composer limited by the SNES capacity
A lot of those tunes are in difficult keys... good job on this.
And finally we getting a remake this year so hope we enjoy every bit of it.
Found this by accident. One of the best channels on RUclips by far.

This fills me with so much joy. Every song sounds so amazing here. This music, these games, will last forever :)
Hearing these songs in a full real live orchestra format is f***ing magical...

The music composed for this game is truly masterful
Such perfection!!! I Love it!!!
