- DMK’s A Raja defended his comments on Hinduism after the BJP filed complaints against his speech.

Raja had on September 6 said the Manusmriti insulted Shudras. He said, “As long as you are a Hindu, you are a Shudra; as long as you are a Shudra, you are the son of a prostitute; as long as you are a Hindu, you are a Panchami person [Dalits]; as long as you are a Hindu, you are an untouchable.”
After the BJP accused him of spewing hatred against Hindus, Raja defended his speech on September 19. He also hit back at the BJP and Governor RN Ravi.

If you go through the manudharma, you can realise how that text was completely biased. The entire text was favored brahmans in all aspects, either sharing of food produce or properties. The dalits were discriminated and pushed to the rock bottom in social order. In fact the dalits are original inhabitants to this part of the region. Actually the brahmans should tender open apology to the 30 crores daliths for unleashing caste atrocities for the last 2000 years using a text so called manu dharma. Every dalith should read manudharma, it is available in local languages, and realise how our generations had suffered untouchability and it is a hard fact that it is being practised in villages. We never ever support sangis till our life time.

Manu Smriti is not an important scripture in Hinduism. The Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita are the the important scriptures. Even today, these works are learnt by devout Hindus but nobody studies Manu Smriti. If DMK people have guts, they should start studying these books and them criticize them. Manu Smriti doesn't have a single author. It was an obscure work that got continuously modified throughout centuries.
@@ganeshr3331 I totally disagree. The Manu code was rule of law for the kings who ruled various parts of this country before British came here. If you go through the code it says about caste discrimination on the basis of varnas. It also says about Administration of justice i.e who can depose before king, admission of evidence, marriage & divorce and partition etc. Effectively, the brahmans had upper hand during such time. We can't simply ignore that draconian text which pushed majority of the people as untouchables for more than 2000 years. We won't forget the sufferings of our forefathers without any reason. Let us unite and uphold social justice. There is no place for sanathana in this part of the region for ever.

Whereas they have quoted from Mahabharata many times. Manu Smriti is Manu's opinion. There are many Smriti texts like Yagnavalkya Smriti, Gautama Smriti etc. If you hate Sanatana Dharma that is your choice. But if you want to argue then Manu Smriti is not good enough. You have to come with a better reason if you want to convince others.

Great job TNM, especially for the translations. I have many friends from brahmin community and sometimes I feel reserved to not share content like this as it can be easily misinterpreted / purposely twisted.

Sudra also refers to the uneducated and unskilled labour. The Arthasastra places Sudras above the Vaisyas.
In an organisational structure the unskilled labour serves those in the upper rungs of the organisation.
Jatis have no connection to Hinduism. Worldwide they are naturally occurring identities.
