Bloody good idea, Mr! You're the only one suggesting it as far as I can see. The other videos reccomend either welding a ridge to the bar or individually hack sawing out each groove!

Another idea I ran across was to score the outside of the clamping bar using a cold chisel. This has the advantage that it displaces, not removes the metal to make the grooves deeper.

Actually I was gonna try this but before buying new metal bits I tried putting gaffer tape around the bar and that pulled the throat into the notches and held fast. Had to scratch it out with a craft knife afterwards but that was no great chore. Doubt you'd get a whole video out of that tho, mush lol

Is there any way to fix it without making hole, because I have 4 clamps 31inchs long and drill it all is really homework

That would be a lot of drilling! :-( I'm sure there is another way to fix them, but it might require replacing either the bar and/or the piece that jams against it. I even tried re-cutting all the grooves and re-filing the edges of the jamming part, but nothing worked for me.

Friend, just lubricate the internal threaded rod and the clamping pad!

Thanks. I'll give that a go and see if it works. (At the moment I've got the handle too oily to tighten it up properly! 😂 )
