Dude, the work we viewers just glimpsed here is absolutely world shattering😵 The potential of giant mechs like in pacific rim makes me and likely many more people unimaginably ecstatic and enthusiastic lol
even if we had vr support for just the characters as it would be awesome. Just imagine taking some catwalks to a section of your ship/station that was damaged and wielding it up
can you fight and shoot in space engineers? because like imagine if it were like titanfall.. youre in some battle and then all of a sudden these giant robots just drops. i guess its the same as what youre saying except theyre just fighting in a warzone
This is incredibly impressive, would love to see proper VR support for space engineers 2 at some point, as much as I'd love to see it for the first game I think its at the end of its life. SE VR is probably going to be a PCVR exclusive title, no chance it would run on the stand alone headsets.
Yea, for vr you are rendering the game twice, one for each display in the headset and as it's already a demanding game, probably the only way you'll be able to run it is having a absolute top of the line gaming pc, although there was a space engineers vr demo on steam that's worth checking out
@JoeMomma-vc5ybgod the ammount of times i have started my self with impact death from the jetpack being stronger then i am used too (ie base jet pack but i always use mods to weaken it) ya it would be
one practical application of this in SE, besides mechs, is welding arms. imagine a shipyard with 2 giant arms, your friend or even you methodically welding each block. Probably would be too laggy for servers, it being vr, but if the vr part was optimized it could be much more effective that welding walls. But yea, definitely looking forward to mech fights. imagine grabbing a fighter out of the air and throwing it into the ground.
I have been waiting for this imagine, a mobile suit imagine, ripping out peoples cockpits with space engineers physics *imagine the military possibilities, this is the future of warfare* I've always wanted something like this in space engineers, I hope we can work with it soon Edit: I realized that here I mentioned a mobile suit, while really, I should be thinking about building AC's, or even Next's! Like imagine the adrenaline of flying and dashing right above the ground, shooting low ground targets, GOING UNDER BRIDGES GODDAMMIT, and then grabbing a fighter right out of the sky and throwing it towards the ground. Wouldn't that be sick.
I can already immagine a online lobby, they raid a base, there is a big surface to ground hangar and as a last efford of defence, a huge Gundam raises from the ground and kick butts
@@rivalun7696 and now imagine how cool it could be if a flying mobile suit esque mech could grab fighters and other mechs and smash them together or rip them apart, like just tearing through entire squadrons and boarding ships
One of the dreams I always have about space engineers is piloting a mech, now I am starting to believe that would be possible in the future. and this.. this just is Pacific Rim type mech fantasy.. breathtaking progress. Devs take notes! Your next game could be the greatest in mech crowd history!
in order to be more gentle with gripping things, rather than a full open or closed fist, having the grip slowly close when pressed and open when not seems like it would fix that issue
Absolutely beautiful 🤯 The possibilities are running through my mind, Mech Warrior, 40k Titans and knights, Gundams plus all the other mecha from films and books etc. Future gaming has high hopes indeed.
Feel like the grid based shield mod and the build repair mod are all that's missing for this to be useful for combat. But I do wanna see a smaller version that's only smaller than 10 LG blocks be used at a shooting range or abandoned city just to see if the game can handle it.
ITS FINALLY HAPPENED, I PLAYED THIS GAME OF A KID AND ALWAYS DREAMED OF THIS EXACTLY. Though a later more fleshed out stage of this, I'm glad to see it might soon be fully realized. I was beginning to think it'd never happen.
The grip and fine movement problems are something we have in real life, I find it so fascinating how art imitates life in that since. What I mean by that is that various companies and governments are trying to make humanoid robots that can be remote controlled and sent into dangerous environments. Like space
This is the most impressive thing i have ever seen in space engineers but i do see a lot of people saying combat is forever changed with this mech which really isnt because it needs to be able to flex the joints are very unarmored and exposed and adding more armor is going to be cumbersome for the pilot, second most combatants will be keeping a distance about at least 600 meters away so out of arms reach and this length is further extended if enemies have missiles plus due to it being manned by one person you can be easily be overwhelmed it would be nice to see 2 of these go at it itself being a combat worthy thing isnt likely
first thing that came to mind was pacific rim style mechs combined with a normal ship crew 2 ppl basicly shadow boxing while their crews fix up what can be fixed and load and fire guns
Space engineers players casually revolutionizing technology on a budget while billion dollar corporations struggle to make the same thing over and over again.
not only is this insane for vr but its insane for real life. if we can make a real life mech move with this precision we might be able to have actual robots be controlled flawlessly by professionals
whats insane about this is this is something that could legitimately upend the game and how its played. imagine having all your ships just be YOU? you could literally grab and swat other ships out of the air or choose to defend by raising an arm to protect more vulnerable parts. ect...
This reminds me of a programmer freak I met a few years ago in a game called MachineCraft (imagine simplified SE and Robocraft but with ghost blocks, meaning you can get some incredibly small detailed builds).
Imagine the potential of fantastic situations that have never ever been seen in this game or many others, attacking a base in this thing, using a shield and a sword to swat down enemy players ships like flies, or even developing big rail gun rifles for these things, or being to launch guided missiles
I tested the game back when it was juat the red and blue ships and you could stack thrusters on top of eachother. Its amazing to see how far the games come.
With this tech we can do so much! Not just mechs and robots - advanced fighters, accurate cranes, repair and scavenge vehicles, engineering vehicles, unusual tanks and drones, and so much more!
There has already been so much progress on his VR mechs. Recently, with the help of some tester, he's been able to make this for VR headsets and it works way smoother now, with human like hands now also being on the mech.
Holy shit if he can replicate this in SE2 and SE2 has native VR support we can actually make mechs work better than we can in any other gaming medium, fucking sick I was seeing if it was faked but doing that range of motion in SE is prolly a shit tonne more work manually than making something like this
Thanks Arron/LSG for the promotion. I am honored and have been a fan of this channel for years.

i solute you for doing what was imposable for a good time
you should call it the jaeger project
also have a great day

The first titanpilot in SE! I bet that our mechsbuilder are hyped now
we are lmao
STANDBY FOR TITANFALL
WOOOOOOOOO
I want a free form voxel mech building game where you can use be to control your mech.
@@aviowl I can do better than that!
STAAAAAAND BY FOR TITANFAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLL!!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
Now I need to see an imperial titan, it would be glorious.
THE EMPEROR PROTECTS.
I want to see two people with this kind of set up go full fisticuffs on a planet in giant robot suits
Transformers moment
I want to see one pick up some new player's first buggy and slam it into the face of another mech!
HAHA would be great

Crazy shit to see in SE, now I'm just hoping we get an actual VR mod on top of this, dogfights in a quest just sounds awesome
AndrewmanGaming already did a video on Space Engineers in VR
yeah
Agreed I'm ready for space engineers vr
I highly doubt a standalone quest would struggle to be able to run SE without a cable connection to the PC
@ro-gamingftw3327 Yeah I meant with a cable mb lol, I pretty much exclusively use mine linked so I always just think of it as a pc headset lol
Bro I saw this guy a little bit ago and I cant wait for the multiplayer mech fights
honestly can't wait to fulfill my armored core/titanfall/gundam fantasies with this if it ever goes public
Klang would go utterly ham
I can't help but imagine an official mech tournament using this tech.

It definitely would be. Hopefully it happens at some point
Unless it's a really scaled down version I don't think any pc could run that unless you asked nasa to use theirs sadly

I NEED to see this thing jump onto a ship and beat it to bits.
@-Fidelis stay tuned then. I've played around with the idea.

I can imagine using this as a “Total Annihilation” commander. Or even better linking this to a drones mining/welding arms.
projectors are already a thing you could totally do that.
kinda weird the missing component would be the onboard nuke
What the actual fuck ?????? How lmao. This has my mind blown.
Space engineers for VR players, this could change the gameplay on a higher scale, cool!!😃😃😃
OMG I saw this video like a couple days ago, it so cool and maaassive props to the creator
This reminds me of a programmer freak I met a few years ago in a game called MachineCraft (imagine simplified SE and Robocraft but with ghost blocks, meaning you can get some incredibly small detailed builds).
Idk why but my first thought when I saw this was it just punting a rover across a planet
This is also ridiculously amazing engineering
Just watch, servers that are dedicated to these glorious things fighting will start popping up everywhere now and I'm here for
Truly proving in the best way ever that the games limit is your imagination
real steal moment in space engineers

Okay, well now we HAVE to see robot melee duels with tire swords.
Finally a use for the Kinect that's not faking ghost footage for the RUclips algorithm!
This is honestly breathtaking.
In the future I'd love to see a VR mech battle with this!
What I thought was only dream, is now reality, now all I need is someone to make a transforming vr mech

Armored core dlc looking wonk
Holy shit this is awesome! And without clang, unbelievable

The dragon Armageddon. ❤😊❤😊
This is profound. I have to say.

He's flying justl ike Iron Man!
The desire to have titans to fight with
Also Kclang approves
Bro built a jaeger
I'd love to see two of these fight now

Nah...it just tears the roof off or grabs your ship and slams it against the ground before it can get away....that would be so cool
and this was made in a video game

This man is making Pacific rim!👏👏
Can't wait to see full-on fights with these things
imagine just seeing your enemies create a mech that is controlled by a vr user
actually nah imagine seeing a fucking Robot samurai destroying your base
